Hey, yes 2 gpm is the norm and with herbicides you need to follow the labels. With fertilizer only mixtures there is more flexibility and can put down more products with less water but you want to have a personal guide that you know will be ok to not burn the lawn or under fertilize.
@@LawnThumbs Your video was really helpful and thanks so much for helping with my question. I had figured everything at 1 gal per 1000 Sq ft so I just double the water and cut the chemical amount in half. I really appreciate you getting back to me so quick. I wish you nothing but the best.
Please post more like this. I am a new applicator and need to learn the techniques with a skid. I currently have a walking boom set up with a gas powered backpack putting out 1gallon per 1k. I hope to move up to a skid to decrease all the refills and mixing every 5 gallons. I would also like to see how you store all your chemicals. As I expand my "toolbox of chemicals", I now need to figure out how to store and organize them at the house. Is it ok to use a shed where they will freeze, or make a storage area in the garage which wont quite be as cold as the shed. So many things to think about...LOL. Shelving, catch pan underneath?? stuff like that. Thanks and I hope you continue to put out content on spray applications so I can learn this biz for use here in my area of texas. Primarily Bermuda and St Augustine. Other good content would be how you treat yards...meaning you walk onto a yard...show us the weeds you identify, and then what chemical gets used in the tank to treat them each round. Stuff like that would be so helpful.
Nice I’m in the market for my first sprayer and was wondering how to calibrate it. This made a lot of sense. Can you make another video on mixing your tank and how to determine amounts of chemical to add with the Greene county fert products
Something I think might surprise you.. next time you are on a dry surface, pull the trigger and wave the gun the way you normally do (speed).then off to the other side repeat it again, but when you pull the trigger move your arm twice as fast.. you're going to notice more product on surface. And by the way the movement is in the forearm, not the wrist. It's not painful at all, also point gun downward at a 45° degree angle. Your coverage will greatly increase the faster you displace the water droplets. Just try it, then do a video.
It depends on the concentration of your mix but usually you would try and make your batches so there work at 1 gallon per minute. But that should also change if you have a fast/slow walking tech.
So which nozzle is good for soil applications and foilar applications?
Do you still have that contract?just wondering.
They are still my customer, but I sold my Fert side of things. But I’ll be getting back into it in 2024 when my non compete expires.
Isn't 2 gallons per 1000 square feet the norm? Does it matter if you make the mixture richer and put less water/ chemical per 1000 square feet?

I can’t wait to get my pesticide license to spray weed and grub control in PA you don’t need a pesticide app license for fertilizer.
Grassology4610 just got mine in January, already making good money here in ft worth tx. Go for it. You'll be glad you did
