With the growing number of naval ships, PN needs to have a supply ships that will attend the needs for fuel, logistics and combat supplies of every ship. This ship will replenish the need of the ship securing our territory without returning to our port. The amphibious assault ship can easily deploy troops in different areas in our archipelago
I personally believe its best for the PN to buy new amphibious ships than to acquire used ships from any country. There's a reason why they are being decommissioned, they have lived their service life. I personally believe acquiring its maintenance parts will be expensive or hard. If the Philippines acquires them for a small sum or receives it for free, they need assurance that they are able to receive the parts to support its operational capability.
I'm personally annoyed that the UK Govt. is selling these without replacements. Stupid move, though I wish the PN all success in their future operations.
With All these ships available for acquisition, the government has not prioritized what it needs for territorial defense. A powerful neighbor is threatening the country and war clouds are getting darker every day. It takes years for the armed forces to be proficient in new equipment. It is not like a new material is received today and tomorrow soldiers, airmen, and sailors are proficient right away. More sophisticated and modern ships are not enough. 😢 Personnel training is imperative such as man overboard drills, basic engineering casualty control exercises (BEECCE), and EMCON. BEECCE such as loss of steering, loss of electrical power, loss of capacity to convert seawater to drinking water 💦, and loss of power (dead in the water) to mention a few. How about general quarter (GQ) drill to include setting of hatches all the way to dog zebra? Maybe for a ship like Pohang class should be GQ manned and ready in 8 minutes or less. EMCON stands for electromagnetic emission control. This is silencing all electromagnetic emissions of all air search, surface search, and tracking. Only passive equipments are used in fighting to avoid enemy detection. Has the Philippine Navy considered that? What was mentioned takes time to master. Training is absolutely important to keep crew proficiency. How about fighting fires aboard a ship, dewatering of compartments or damage control if the ship took a direct hit? To maintain a competitive edge, ships of the fleet should compete against each other and award a unit citation of Engineering Battle E, Medical Batte E, Electronic Counter Measures Battle E, Basic Seamanship Battle E and the likes. RIMPAC is a good training exercise and should continue for the Philippine archipelagic territory. Keep sending different ships and crew for RIMPAC. That should make the difference. Oh crew should not forget to perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly preventive maintenance of pieces of equipment for operability.
We need atleast 1 aircraft carrier. Aircraft carriers are more economically wise for an archipelagic nation like us instead of creating so many naval bases.
The philippines should acquire the hdf 3500 that was proposed by hhi, it is more advance and bigger than the jose rizal and miguel malvar class frigate. And also the philippines should not acquire old warships cause whats the point of the AFP modernization program.
Having a mixture (high low) of equipment from new to upgraded legacy systems will balance affordability and the numbers needed to be combat effective. There are legacy systems that can add numbers and lethality from lav’s(Canada Coyote and Bison , AZLAV’s ) to tanks AMX10p (its amphibious) ikv91 (amphibious) to attack helicopters then there are assets like the ex Italian Navy Garibaldi light carrier to include her AV8’s ,a light carrier will contribute greatly to the PN maritime security operations to include participation in regional security and global security operations. The Philippines National Defense Strategy need to be modernized to reflect current and future threats within a multi domain environment, the PMC need to merge with the Army becoming Combat brigades within the Army this will help with costs and personnel (recruitment for one department vs two Army and Marines) and allow for a more concise procurement process in regards to equipment, they can create Expeditionary Combat Brigades that can support and perform Airborne and Amphibious Operations with organic fixed wing assets (A29’s and attack helos) the PAF must engage in realistic modernization processes that gives them more bang for their buck.

the philippines should need to acquire of Saar S80 from israel becouse the Saar S80 is capable to all kind of mission to protect the philippines the Saar S80 is not like the malvar warship that bigger size that the Saar S80 the advantage of Saar S80 is the rights size of warship that can quickly maneuvers thats why its hard to targetting the Saar S80 for his fast and quickly maneuvers and Saar can detect quickly the coming missile or eny treat from enemy warship Saar have a highly advance radar system in long distance surveliance for coming treats and Saar are have a very high power weapons that can face eny weapons from enemy small weapons but very fast ang powerfull enemy didnot easy to targer the missile from Saar becouse even a small its very fast to sink and shotdown the all warship and figjter jet even the small drone that is the big advange of the Saar S80 that the big size of warship fast and quickly manuevers stealthy and have the advance radar syatem and powerfull weapons
The only reason why we should acquire decommissioned warships from other countries is if we are preparing for an imminent war and we are short of warships. But then, who's going to man those ships? It takes years of training to effectively man those warships. Why are we not seeing increase in Navy recruitment and training? If we are not training additional Navy personnel and we not preparing for an imminent war. all these talks about acquiring old decommissioned warships are nothing but b*llsh1t from an amateur warmongering blogger.

The two replenishment oiler ships are the necessity. PN already has 4 SSV/ LPDs. And, “No, Thanks!” for the Duke class frigates.
I'm personally annoyed that the UK Govt. is selling these without replacements. Stupid move, though I wish the PN all success in their future operations.
Kung masesecure natin Yan, pwede na, makakatulong na din Yan, sanay naman na Tayo sa mga pinag lumaan ng iBang Bansa, sa atin lagi ang latak!!!!!!
