I agree it wasn't easy. The hardest part for me was breaking the OEM RTV seal. The special tool I linked definitely helped. As well as removing the headers. Most videos/instructions had difficulty with the bolts in the back but if you just unbolt the 2 engine mounts and lift the engine a bit, access was easy.
My guy was quiet for a few months then released bangers after bangers the last few days.
Thank you! 😄😄
Its hard to find time but I try my best! Glad you're enjoying it!
Cheers for the heads up for what to look out for, definitely saving me from a few headaches in the near future
glad it was helpful!
I installed an aftermarket oil pickup tube on my Legacy GT and I'm so glad that I did. I've read horror stories and engine failure is just no fun.
Exactly!
My pickup was fine on my 2015 STI at 105k. Installed an IAG one just for the hell of it.
mine was at 118. But since we were in there...might as well!
Great video. looks like your oil cooler housing is leaking. probably needs new o ring
yeah I replaced some hoses while I was down there, and been good since!
Can I only upgrade the oil tube and keep the original pan?
Nice video and keep it up!
Thanks! I kept the original oil pan and upgraded the pick up tube and windage tray.
nice video im doing this soon. Iv heard getting the oil pan off is not easy

Do i need to unbolt the dipstick from up top or no? Im preparing myself to do this job to my 06 this weekend
I did, it makes it easier to yank the dipstick out by the dipstick rather than try to pull the oil pan off the dipstick.
Subarus engine bays are packaged so nicely…
