I try not to do great big projects just because of getting lost in miscounting. This looks like a V-8 moment! Remember those old commercials? Thank you so much for sharing this! Now to find my metallic Thread…
I like how the metallic thread is easy to remove and that it doesn't leave thread fibers in the cloth. I have too many projects going on so I will just be watching. 😀
Oh wow, I wish they had the technique of gridding all those years ago when I was doing counted cross stitch. I've done some huge projects and the counting over and over and over to make sure I was where I needed to be before stitching was something else! But all worth it in the end for a lovely project. I don't feel that I can see well enough anymore to do cross stitch, so I'll be hanging out with y'all while I work on other sewing and/or machine embroidery projects. Thank you for showing your gridding method - really quite interesting!
I like learning different techniques even if they’re not for me. I know all about the counting and recounting and then sometimes I was still off. Numbers just don’t stick in my head even when I’m actively counting 😉. I’ll be wearing my special magnifying headset when I work on this project. I’ll look weird but at least I’ll be able to see 😎
Thank you for explaining that! I will definitely try that on my next large project. I'm going to go watch the next video you linked in the comments. Have a great day!

Yes! I do remember those ads. Never a fan of V-8 though. I also loved the Nestea Plunge. I tend to lose interest in the larger projects.

Me too. Super simple to remove and not stitch through. Come hang out and chat with everyone. 🎙️
I've never thought of gridding the cloth... What a great idea!! I'm going to try this. Thanks Robin!!
You are so welcome! Not always needed but appreciated when used.

Great idea, I never thought of that 😊
Anything to help keep me on track. It’s so easy for me to get the count wrong when traveling.
I have never thought to grid my fabric before cross stitching. This would have saved many a curse word. I will have to do it on the next project
I’ve sworn too many times. I can fudge a bit in cross stitch but some lines need to be straight and match up 😉
I use red fishing line when I grid when I grid or whatever colour I can get if I go to my local Big W store 😀
Excellent tip. Thank you. Less expensive per yard than my metallic thread I’m sure.
Not something for me but I let it run in the background. Hope you have a good weekend 😍
Thank you! You too!
Thank you Robin Sincerely Your Friend Lynne

You’re very welcome! Thank you for watching the next video also. ✂️
I stitch on evenweave, but always start from the centre,so don't need to grid
I tend to wander all over the fabric whether cross stitch or embroidery or even quilting. 😆
I haven’t gridded in a long time. It’s a great tip for a lot of cross stitchers, tho! 🧵🧵
Thanks for watching!
