FANTASTIC video about propagating the Rainbows Hank :-D and I have had to break many clay pots too to get the cactus out of the pot, its so wonderful when they produce lots of pups to propagate and removing them gives the Mother plant more space to grow, and your little Supervisors are the CUTEST haha, thanks so much for sharing and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Oregon for a wonderful weekend ahead XXXX
We always appreciate the love, happiness and plant power ^^ I always start out thinking that I am going to re use the pot... Sometimes... it becomes obvious that you have to choose between harming the plant or the pot. Hope your day is really good ^^
I know you have not posted in a while, and I hope you are doing well, would love an update and also I'm so curious about what area of Oregon you live and how your cacti do in the greenhouse and through the winter? Do you ever bring them indoors? I'm up just outside of Portland in a rural area where I would like to have a green house (our house is so dark we have small north and east facing windows with trees that block a lot of the early day sun, but its so wet a lot of the time in cooler months and I worry about too much moisture too in a greenhouse.
In Brookings, doing well and thanks ^^. The lower average temps and overall, less consistent sunshine left a lot of the cactus unhappy and not always flowering. I can't predict when the flowers will open. The current project is another gabion / rock wall fence around some espalier fruit trees. There will be a video on that pretty soon. Hope your day is really good. ^^
@@hankscactus3973 that’s sad to hear! Have you considered bringing them indoors and using grow lights to assist them? Brookings is a beautiful place, you are lucky to live there. Good luck with the new projects!

There is a natural reluctance to break a useable clay or ceramic pot but it’s often the best choice under circumstances like this.
True ^^ It is never my first plan... but it is often a good way to go. Hope your day is really good. ^^
