    LFG! BRIDEAR crushed this! PURE FIRE ENERGY so good. NATSUMI is a beast on the drums. If this is just a taste (track #1 lol) of the new album out next month, we're in for a treat! They sound so good here! bass/drums mesh well, twin guitars sound awesome, the riffs, the solos, everything. KIMI's vocals keep getting stronger. the overall look and sound of this song is just top shelf for me. going right to the top of my list of BRIDEAR songs and very likely could be one of the best songs of 2024, if not THE best song so far. IDK what else we have in store for us with this album. more metal? some prog metal? cannot wait for this album to drop next month! I just hope they don't release more than 1 more single / MV from the n ew album before it drops. I think this should whet everyone's appetite enough to make this a must buy album and I really hope it catches on and is THE album of 2024. I really am rooting for BRIDEAR to finally break out, they are awesome and I think so far so under-rated by most of the music community. They are a top shelf band, especially with this lineup. Their chemistry and charisma is the best it's ever been IMO. I loved the Bloody Bride album and I really loved Aegis of Athena, but I am prepared for this album to blow all their past albums away. I just have that feeling. we'll see....FIRE!? IDK what a proper way to describe how happy and pumped I am for this song! I lost count on how many times I have listened to it, but I was in double digits hours ago....I cannot get enough. glad you liked it too. and so far all energy around it seems really super positive! LFG!! 🔥🔥♥♥🔥🔥♥♥🔥🔥♥♥🔥🔥

    It was so worth the trip to Sweden to record this album. They all ramped up their playing and Kimi is singing with a confidence I haven't seen before. I am loving what I hear so far. The teasers they put up must be for another song and I hope they release that one as well.

    Yay, thanks for this. Bridear is a great and often a bit underrated band. Bridear was my first love of the female rock bands back in 2013 - then 2015 came Band-Maid, but that’s another story 😊 So Bridear will always have a special place in my heart. The two leads perform also as Sukiyaki Sisters alone (great metal covers). I hope this line-up stays a bit and brings the band more stability and the deserved break through. I saw Bridear several times live and they are great live too and able to burn down a house. With their original line-up back in the days I recommend to give „Light in the dark“ a listen and then the epic „Brave new world revisited“ or „Scream“ live at Shibuya, with Haru‘s most diabolical growls ever.
    And with Bridear you might come across a small but noisy bunch of „fans“ too, who stick in the past and can’t get over it, that they are not the same and sound the same like 15 years ago. I did hear all versions of Bridear several times and the „new crew“ is still Bridear and not less proficient than the „old“ crew. Just for prevention 😊

    Now imagine what the other nine tracks sound like...!
    That lead break with MOE and AYUMI is awesome, but also brings some serious classic JUDAS PRIEST and MERCYFUL FATE twin guitar vibes! LOVEBITES and NEMOPHILA (until Saki left) have that same vibe, but BRIDEAR are bringing it big time! I knew as soon as MOE joined this band that they were going to go heavier than their earlier releases (although they have some really bad ass heavy songs in their catalog)!

    Thank you for checking this out Ryan. This is their moment to break through, after all the lineup instability before. I did see them in London in 2019 (Misaki on guitar instead of Moe) and they burned the house down. The fact that they could lose three elite-level guitarists (Misato, Mitsuru and then Misaki) and keep replacing them (Ayumi and now Moe) just speaks to the insane depth of the talent pool in Japan.

    First new piece of music from Bridear since Eyes of Doubt and the first track off the upcoming album Born Again. First full-length album to feature Moe and their first since Aegis of Athena two years earlier which would prove to be Moe's predecessor Misaki's final album with the band. Haru's bass and Kimi's vocals were a little low in the mix but, overall, the song itself is killer. Natsumi's drums, not to mention Ayumi and Moe trading solos back and forth!🔥🔥

    getting a new producer did wonders for their sound. As while I loved Bloody Bride and Aegis of Athena the sound production really lacked punch.

    I basically wrote them off as not for me when I gave them a test when the previous album released, but the album has grown on me over time even though there is still a lot of stuff on it that is not really for me. I did pre-order the new album though (and ordered a couple of the older ones) as I am curious to hear what it's going to be and I should just give them an other chance. I just wish I liked the vocals on the albums more than I do (I also wish they weren't fully in English as the pronunciation is distracting for me), but I enjoyed them more the one livestreamed show I watched which is part of the reason I wanted to give them an other go.
    As far as the sound on the new album goes, I know they went to Sweden to record their album and work with Fredrik Nordström who seems to have worked with a lot of melodic death metal bands over the years and just a lot of metal bands in general. This track isn't necessarily my favourite type of music, but I do enjoy it more than a lot of the tracks that were on the previous album. So yeah, I am cautiously optimistic on the album and I hope it does well for them. They have been around since 2011 and seem to be forgotten a lot when people talk about Japanese rock or metal.

    Natsumi raising the bar on the drums. Guitar solos are pure fire. Kimi looking hot. The growls are just right. If this doesn't get them a shit-ton of recognition, the world is fucked.

    When I first saw this, I couldn’t stop smiling. Literal ear-to-ear grinning. It’s been on a repeating loop ever since it premiered. It will not be stopped.
    Bridear is more than merely “deserving” of more people’s attention, and the more they compose metal that grabs you by the throat and squeezes hard, the more they make their case; they demand to be heard.
    And Natsumi is a fucking wrecking machine on that kit. Any conversation regarding J-metal’s best drummers is null and void if she isn’t talked about.

  • @gitterich
    @gitterich 23 дні тому +1

    I'm a bit shocked that both Nemophila and Hagane will now only play with a single lead guitar. That's why I've been enjoying Bridear with Moe and Ayumi all the more for some time now.
    The new song and the video are absolutely top class.

  • @danrob31
    @danrob31 24 дні тому +1

    I gotta be honest, I struggle with Bridear because I find the vocals out of place with the rest of the band. I don’t feel the same level of power in her voice as I do from the music. It may be how they mix it but I just can’t see them becoming one of the bigger bands as they are.

    • @michaelhill4353
      @michaelhill4353 24 дні тому +1

      @danrob31. Perhaps Kimi's vocals are not to your liking, but that's the voice she was graced with. Take it or leave it. If you're not quite feeling Bridear, there's a multitude of other options out there in the world. YOU chose to listen and watch. Wasn't force fed to you by Ryan.

    • @realdocloco
      @realdocloco 24 дні тому +3

      Kimi's voice is rather unusual for that kind of band, I agree, but if you get the chance to see them live, you'll understand how powerfull she is as a frontwoman - I went to see them live out of curiosity and after a couple of songs I was a fan, and will be till the end. What's more, Kimi's unique voice makes them instantly recognisable among their 'competitors'.

    • @realdocloco
      @realdocloco 24 дні тому +1

      @@michaelhill4353 ... or maybe he will get used to her voice, especially if he's lucky enough to see them live? there's been singers and voices I wasn't a fan of in the past, and suddenly one day I "heard" what make them attractive to other people, so it's totally possible he'll change his mind in the future. He's not agressive in his critic anyway, and he has the right to dislike her voice.

    • @MaartenT
      @MaartenT 24 дні тому +1

      It's the same for me, I am not a huge fan of Kimi's studio vocals, both on the production side (it's a bit better on this one) and on the pronunciation side (I really wish they weren't singing in full English). That said, I watched a livestreamed set once and they did work for me on that one, I liked them way more live than on the studio stuff I have heard (they weren't cleaned up, which I prefer). I also agree with the other comments that she is a good frontwoman. I am going to give them an other shot with the new album (I already pre-ordered it) and the couple of older ones I recently bought since I have only the previous album to go on, but I have a feeling they aren't 100% for me either, that said I wish them all the best. They are still going after starting in 2011, so while they have switched members plenty of times, I do think this can only mean they are doing something right and there are plenty of people who really like them including outside of Japan. I honestly think they can grow and I hope for them they do.
      Also @michaelhill4353, you are way more aggressive in your comment than the original comment was, I don't feel like it was that bad of a comment. People like what they like, me not enjoying her vocals as much as you do doesn't meant I am saying you shouldn't or that you are wrong. I am glad people do, I hate to see bands die and I hope they can grow by working with a Swedish producer and being on a Western label. They deserve it after all the hard work they did over the years.

      @@realdocloco Certainly happened for me 2 years ago at naon yaon 2022 when Kimi was on stage with Angie & Mayu. I realised I liked her voice way more than I thought.
      I do think though that her voice can suffer from too much polishing / overprocessing since its more about character than power.
