    I think Matt Smith's 11th Doctor being the "too young" would have worked better, since the fanbase always considered him the "young one" or "the babyfaced" out of all the Doctors incarnations. And just as a similar comment said, it would be funny to have Jon Pertwee's 3rd Doctor as the "that won't do at all" incarnation, as it would only add extra irony that the 2nd immediately regenerates into him anyways, and makes the Time Lords look like they aren't putting up with 2nd's reluctance to go through his sentence immediately by making him regenerate into his least favorite chosen incarnation.
    And while I would like the "too fat" part to be added, it would be slightly cruel towards Colin Baker if they chose that.

    • @richardfine8119
      @richardfine8119 Місяць тому +13

      I would have preferred Peter Davison to be the one that was "too young" for two reasons. (1) When it was announced that he would be succeeding Tom Baker a lot of people at the time thought he was too young. (2) It would explain how 2 recognized his future self in "The Five Doctors". "Ah, there I am. I mean there you are."

    imo the regen option faces being promo pictures of future doctors with their clothing and objects (sonic screwdrivers) is inaccurate, because to my knowledge and recalling the machinery/tech isn't a future vision-y thing iirc.
    and rather the screen showcases the options to choose a result for post manipulation of the regeneration to have the certain appearance as the result..... because of the bio-manipulative tech.
    at least to my memory that's how the tech was to be interpreted, but my memory could be wrong
    but yeh fair enough as it can be just fun fanfare but then again they could've used different promo pics for it, even with photoshopped clothing or just pics from a different source with permission.
    also I think the face selection bit changed to nu who doctors could be based on a "meme" edit a fan made somewhere cus I recall a similar looking edit

    Some thoughts,
    1. The appearances of the Second Doctor's enemies did occur in the original, but it was just the monsters on a screen with a black backdrop behind them. The footage from the stories was added to "The War Games" colourised version.
    2. I liked the appearances of Capaldi, Tennant, Whittaker and Smith; very funny and the show having a dig at itself.
    3. The performances of Clyde Pollitt and Bernard Horsfall as the two Time Lords are very good. Pollitt and Horsfall make them such smug individuals that you want to kick them.

    • @davidroberts3316
      @davidroberts3316 23 дні тому +1

      Correction. I made a mistake in naming the Time Lord actors who sentence the Doctor to exile. They were Bernard Horsfall and Trevor Martin. Martin would go on to play the Doctor himself in the 1974 stage play "Seven Keys to Doomsday", and would reprise the role for Big Finish in 2008.

You cant expect them to be hooked by this and then carry on with classic Who that is paced, edited and scored completely differently. If they want people to discover classic Who, just air it. • @ThoughtCabin
      @ThoughtCabin Місяць тому +1

      @g1xrider13 I think they did see it coming actually but there was nothing that could be done about it. The time war stretched backwards and forwards along Gallifrey's timeline, with reality being written and rewritten over and over. It could be argued retroactively that their knowledge of the coming time war is what inspired them to recruit 4 to avert the creation of the Daleks in 1975's Genesis of the Daleks story. Maybe that time lord representative came from a point in Gallifrey's time where the war had already begun and it was a desperate feint.
      Anyways, in Day of the Doctor the high council sees all of the Doc's incarnations from Hartnell through Capaldi, while they are primarily dealing with the War Doctor initially. During the End of Time, we are following 10's Doctor in the main events on Earth but the high council assembled on Gallifrey makes reference to the Doctor possessing the Moment and it seems that for them the end of the time war hasn't happened yet.
      It's all confusing but with all these timelines it seems like everything is happening all at once and the audience is just seeing it from Doc's perspective.

    Personally I think they should of had models that resembled the drawings of the original version because regeneration is a random thing like the 12th Doctor was a subconscious thing to remind the Doctor of something and then there's the 7th Doctor who was reading The Time Machine and practically regenerated into the main character of the book in the 1996 movie which seems to indicate that a state of mind guides the formation of the next carnation and the Doctor's regenerations would have been different if his life took a different direction. That maybe the 3rd Doctor became "James Bond" because the 2nd Doctor perhaps felt he could of saved Jamie and Zoe if he was more of a man of action.
