Thanks for putting in the work, I did clear up about 50 ft & rebuild about 10 ft of a skinny last weekend in my part of the world, this is friggin hard work carrying all that ish in the woods 😂🪖
Watching Rémy barely jump off the lip made me feel so much better about myself 😅😅 Videos like this are the best to see… making you feel like you don’t have to just hit things blind and uncomfortable all the time.
Came here right after watching Remy's channel. So sick to see you two riding together! My favorite MTB UA-camrs sending it together! Also the cautious progression is so relatable! This is a perfect example of how to dissect a difficult trail.
Savage. So sick. Rémy is so calculated, precise. I guess you have to be. You both are insane riders. I can’t imagine the feeling of hitting that line. Must be amazing. The consequences are just to much for me these days (52years old) got my 1st grandkid on the way and don’t wanna be sucking down ensure in a wheelchair. I am still racing dh though (only cat-2). Can’t wait to ride with the little guy.
Thanks!! Sounds like you're making the right choices. With consistency and micro progressions though you'd be surprised how much bigger you could be going in 1 to 2 years from now, all while staying totally safe. Even at your age. I've seen it. Congrats on the new family member :)
Mark you are the builder i seek to emulate the most. Not that ill ever build jumps as big as yours, but the style, the progression, and whole package is pure artistry!
Both videos yours and Remy are very good lessons in many ways. Years ago without youtube era this was unthinkable. Thank you both and youtube for all. You both are great ambassadors for MTB.
This video is soooo good. But good in a sense of really having opportunity to see how even pro riders are having "difficult" moments clearing some features, how they get to a point of clearing them, their fears, thoughts... really awesome video and awesome insight of how it really looks. Another thing, so nice to see these two ride together.
I love it! Is there anyway i could visit that trail sometime? And if ever i could get there, i'll be shitting my pants to see in person how gnarly that jump is 😂😂
Remy's definitely a (much) better rider than me but we have very similar approaches to big/new hits before the 1st true attempt - really analyzing the approach, line, speed, landing. I wish I had more of Sam Reynolds go-for-it mindset: "are you magically going to be a better rider in the next 10 minutes? No, then just hit it.".
Hey Mark great video and great work keeping Remmy honest 👍. I have a question, are you still riding the Alpine trail? There's no stickers and it looks different. Thanks Mark and keep up the great work 🤙
Just had to give your efit a full view!! As i commented in Remy’s channel, have a read and a think about it! If it sounds cool to go on a trip around here just hit me up bud!
Killer tires I use versatile reinforced. I usually ride urban downhill with a tube at 40psi every other tire will pinch flat going up stairs… Delium in 7 months not a single flat and they seem to be more durable- but I could also be braking less going down stairs
Yoooow🤘🏼 a dream come true😂 I wrote to both of you guys on insta like 3 years ago to ride with each other in your common riding trails, awesome to finaly see it😅🙌🏻
Too much remy talking. I get the whole scope out the line but he talks too much instead of you letting him know where the sweet spot is since you built it. I had to fast forward him talking becasue I can just hear the borderline arrogance Nice riding though
Thanks for the feedback! It was a tricky video to edit. I cut out quite a lot of the talking but it still ended up long. However, I thought it was pretty engaging. I'll make chapters in future videos like this so you can skip to your favourite sections!
I think its awesome to see how pro level riders are assessing risks and figuring out speed very carefully, instead of just sending it.
Thanks! Taking the time to get everything figured out safely is vital for progression.

Nope you should jus send it ngl

and that was still infinitely more than I would have done on that trail! Remy is a beast.
That was a sick day! Thanks again!
For sure! 👊
Best collab ever ❤🔥🔥
So good to see the support from Mark to Remy for taking his time for something that is a little out of his comfort zone. Rad video Mark!
Absolutely, thanks Ryan!

Rad, thank you!
My two favorite riders collaborating! Awesome.
Thanks!!
Sick ride mark! Your trails are crazy man in video and real life! Sharknado🤯🔥🔥🔥
I appreciate that Wade.. these jumps are bigger! And just wait for the next thing I'm building... I'm borderline terrified hahaha.
@@MarkMatthewsMTB sheeeah mark ‘the Guinea pig’ Matthew? Hahaha

That was a sick video. It made me want to be Remi and get all that teaching and input for such an epic and technical trail!
Cheers!
Such a great video. Loved hearing you guys break down each feature and really take your time
Super cool to see you guys work through a feature at a time.
been watching you build trails on yt since the old dig vlog days, always so sick to see other pros riding this masterpiece
I love it! Is there anyway i could visit that trail sometime? And if ever i could get there, i'll be shitting my pants to see in person how gnarly that jump is 😂😂
It’s easy to find! On the forbidden plateau trails. Go send it haha 🔥🤟

For sure, he's very methodic! I'm a little more like Sam haha.
Sick content...two of the Steeziest riders in the WORLD...thanks Mark:)
Wow thanks 🔥

Nice one Mark!
Thank you!
Sick train!
Hey Mark great video and great work keeping Remmy honest 👍.
I have a question, are you still riding the Alpine trail? There's no stickers and it looks different. Thanks Mark and keep up the great work 🤙
Thanks! And yes, I still have a full fleet of Marin's, that is a prototype Marin I can't talk about yet.
Yooo
great video!
Glad you enjoyed!
That was fun to watch
Thanks buddy!
I'd like to randomly find such feature 👌 looks fun... And so scary 😅
haha if you're in the comox valley you might randomly stumble across this ;)

Random question out of interest is that Marin prototype you have carbon looks sweet?
The prototype is an alloy, I can’t speak to the production bike yet but it’s coming very soon! 👀👀
awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
What tires ate you using?
Delium Rugged Tires
Killer tires I use versatile reinforced. I usually ride urban downhill with a tube at 40psi every other tire will pinch flat going up stairs… Delium in 7 months not a single flat and they seem to be more durable- but I could also be braking less going down stairs
which model marin bike is that and what is the coil that u use
It’s a prototype Marin no one has posted about yet. I’ll be able to talk about it soon
@@MarkMatthewsMTB ahh alr
What camera do you use
Dose anybody know what the name of the bike that mark is riding
It’s a prototype Marin I can’t talk about yet but I’ll be the first person to. Stay tuned!
@@MarkMatthewsMTB thank you I will stay tuned
What pov camera do you use
Insta360 x3 and ace pro
How many trails do you have
I’ve built about 5
You should have coached him a bit on how to throw some style in hahahaha.
New Life goal is to ride this trail.. but after seeing Remy's nerves my tail is between my legs
Haha it’s much gnarlier in person
@@MarkMatthewsMTB I bet always is!

No way bro! I love the banter, the analysis, the discussion from both sides: the builder and the first time rider. This is literally MTB gold!
