My ancestors have been growing potatoes since the 17th century in Western Siberia. From childhood, we are accustomed to planting in the soil, cultivating, watering, weeding from bad grass, and harvesting the finished crop in the fall. Potatoes are our second bread.
Jamie, this may sound weird, but you make food so relatable. Thanks for that!

Cover the potatoes with 2" or 3" and every time it come up out of the soil cover with hay or dry grass clippings. Then repeat as it grows up. Then when it's harvest time, just pull the hay away and you get unblemished potatoes quickly clean and you'll wonder why you ever did the soil Hillingdon dirty labor intensive method. I've used this method since I was 19 and I'm 68 now. Tried and true gardening.
Thank you for sharing this tip. We never grow anything (death's own thumbs), but find it extraordinary how those like yourself with green thumbs can grow anything anywhere. Truly a gift.

Fantastic omelette!!! I loooove chorizo, but didn't know it was spanish. I used to think that chorizo was South American.
