Someone in the US is a very lucky person. That truck is in immaculate shape! This model and year of 4runner/Hilux surf is the best one in my opinion. What a perfect dream car!
Oh man, those 80’s 4Runner’s/Hilux Surfers are just top tier Toyota.
My father had one of these growing up In canada, 4runner. Thanks for the great memories!
Rare Diesel and Solid Front Axle!
LN60V front solid axle
they were common in Australia and I'm betting South Africa too. Cooling problems in hot areas
For North America, the front side marker lights are all amber, from 1984-89. The 1990 and later trucks have white/amber side marker lights. It's believed that even the earliest 4Runners had auto locking hubs, but would still require a full stop to get in or out of 4x4 mode. Our family's example was a white 1989 with some striping, 5-speed manual, air, power accessories. Before 1989, only a manual transmission was offered, and some power accessories were not yet available.
Auto locking hubs, automatic transmissions, power windows and even sunroofs were all options on all 84-89 4runners [and 84-88 pickups]. Pretty rare options however in the USA at least for the early ones of the generation.
Too nice it belongs in a museum
It's a sweet car; there are 20 or so of these currently on auction through Pacific Coast website
The interior is amazingly wear free. Just goes to show the high quality materials that were used at that time.
Spot on with the straight legged clutch. If you sit far forward enough for your leg to have a bend, the brake and accelerator feel too cramped. Same thing with our 1998 RZN169R Hilux. Love those patterned floor mats too.
I sold my solid axle swapped 1989 4Runner which led to me importing my PZJ77. I would love to have another first gen like this one.
i grew up loving these trucks because of marty toyota pickup in back to the future
love the videos!! +
ps: at 4.19 its not the same car, 1st is a hustler ( a 660cc k car ) , second is a xBee which is 1liter but still 3 cylinder :)
Always wanted a diesel oyta. Had a 86 with 22r she was great. And very rare state side with auto hubs. But then aging it hard to find these now
old school diesel works. New ones have that dpf main in the arse
Blame the emission controls because they are getting paranoid at Climate change
That thing is mint.
Here on Sakhalin we used to have these with both auto & manual hubs. It's an option and Japanese are sometimes can't really be understood with their option choise.
nice vehicle. oh it ain't loud. I'll take one
Very nice toyota. Only thing is that the radiator needs to be bigger.
Most of the people want a car like a willful girlfriend expensive and easily to break-up when some others want a car like a working-forever mobile steel cabine which is boring but cheap and fxxking tough to last 30 years(Which is a really good investment).
How much are these trucks selling for these days?
That door needs oil. 🛢️🚙⚙️
Do you ship to California?
Hello there. I would like to know if you can import a Toyota hiace with manual transmission to the United States. Let me know. Thank you.
It has to be 25 years old
Reminds me of the Opel Frontera...
Manfred Georg Burggraf Opel Frontera is more like an Isuzu Amigo, actually is the same car. Toyota’s are very different. Same era though
huge love from iraq
Cool
Where do I bid on this car
How the hell are you exporting this in this situation?? All ports are closed.....
still stuck on side of road?
Wow😍
my 87 truck AC compressor not working and can't find one in Australia
