    That was great to watch guys cheers, i like that M2. Did a taxi lap with Moran in April in the Schirmer F80 M3 and it was great. Did an 8.45 with half the track damp, a yellow down through the foxhole and stuck behind traffic, that was 3 up as well. Great driver, great car, great track! Moran is a top bloke and well be back next year. Enjoy your driving guys: thumbsup

      I've done a few track days and had a bit of instruction, and think I'm okay-ish, and then I watch something like this lol. I also had the pleasure of half a dozen hot laps of Brands Indy circuit with Mark Webber in the mid 90s in a fully track prepped E36 318iS and that was humbling as well. It's the complete relaxation and sense of calm that amazed me both in this case, and the vid above. It's like watching anyone doing anything they are really good at - just looks so easy. :-)

    On the brakes did you swap out discs or just do pads and hoses? Also what tire you on? Cup2 or Super Sports? BMW should have used this video as marketing for the M2 :P :P much difference between original n LCI? I've got first gen M2, love it but stock brakes are shocking n have warped twice on me... well at least once, this second time may be pad deposits.

    • @nurburgringuk

      Just front Pagid RS29 pads, Goodridge braided hoses front and rear and some ATE TYP200 fluid. The car is currently on the stock Continental Sport Contact 3 (*) tyres.

    • @ChrisDorgan
      @ChrisDorgan 6 років тому +1

      I think I had the stock Conti's originally, could feel a little disconnected on track to me (in my limited experience) when hot, they were decent though. Loving the Michelin Super Sports on the road, haven't properly been on track yet, although did Coventry MotoFest laps last weekend and it did feels good. Been looking at doing the brakes but at the moment I haven't got enough track days booked in to warrant doing them yet. Great video dude, thanks!

      nurburgringuk We were ‘unlucky’ to have these CSC3s from the factory on our M2. It will be much quicker if that was PSS or even Ps4s. I’ve done my first set CSc3 at around 15000km and now on Ps4s. HUGE improvement on grip.

    I got a 2018 M2 and I am very happy with it, but everyone is telling me about getting M2 comp, is really much better? What is your opinion? I would appreciate your advice.

    • @nurburgringuk
      @nurburgringuk  3 роки тому +1

      Well the Comp is faster and has a nicer interior. It's also very easy to extract big power from, if that's your bag. However it's also heavier, sounds awful, has uglier wheels, and a massive (and ugly) exhaust.
      I've considered changing to one myself, the sound can be remedied with an equal length exhaust and a different exhaust back box but the cost of this is off putting. I am more likely to stay with my '18 M2 as in the real world I don't need the additional power and I'm of the opinion that 450bhp is the limit on these cars, anymore and they become frustrating and undriveable on the road, who cares who is fastest in a straight line?
      My car in it's current state of tune is as fast as a stock M2 Comp, it handles amazing, sounds phenomenal and turns heads and gets compliments wherever I go!
      My advice is think about what's important to you and do you really want to spend the additional money not only on the purchase but any future mods and is it worth it?

    • @hollygolby4436
      @hollygolby4436 3 роки тому

      @@nurburgringuk thank you. The reality is that the sound of M2 OG with Performance exhaust is addictive to the point of lowering the music while driving just to listen the roar. I live in Spain and usually I chose mountain passes instead of tollways. In normal and curvy roads the 370 Hp of the engine are in my opinion very well balance with the chasis of the car, and usually I am afraid of going for more than sport mode, cause it slide very easy even at hight speeds when the wheel is not straight if you are not gentle with the throttle, and I love that sensation of having always remaining power under the foot. So as you said, I do not think that the car can handle much more power without losing the valance that makes this car so great. So as I do not get into race circuits and hate tollways, I will keep this LCI M2 with N55 and maybe ahead and stage 1 for additional 40 hp, but I do not even know if are really needed.
      Thank your your answer. Love sharing my experiences and opinions with people who love driving cars like I do.
