In Texas 220k can get you a fat mansion. however Nairobi has become very competitive and its a big bubble. on the other hand the us federal reserve is printing money a lot of money so folks have money interest rates are low etc i can see why prices are inflated. but the bubble will pop as soon as the interest rates go up.

I live in the US and find African real estate very interesting. The kitchen is not to my liking but the ceiling lighting is a nice touch. Also, the wardrobes is odd because they take space away from actual rooms.
I agree. Kenya has no building codes as you have in the US where height of kitchen cabinets, room size definitions etc are written regulation. You will find in Kenya a 9 X 9ft room considered a bedroom... or door knobs and handles installed more than 36 inches off the ground, as in everyone seems to do their own thing. Also, land use in Kenya is poorly regulated. That is why a $220K home as the one highlighted in this video sits so close to the perimeter wall. In some States, this is considered a fire hazard.

I live in Florida so housing here does differ (no basements but their is some very nice basements elsewhere) from you but overall we do not have any wardrobes in the US. Just remember that you live in one city in a country with millions of people. Everything is not according to your familiarity.
