It's time for one of the most ambitious mods in Hearts of Iron 4.
It's the end of Prussia but a beginning for Germany.

Anyways Tommy is back to HOI4 Mod Review and he's going to be reviewing a HOI4 Mod with the most potential and that lasts almost 200 years.
The mod is called End of a New Beginning and it starts in the Victorian Era aka 1800s. It's basically Victoria 2 in Hearts of Iron 4.
But yes this could literally be one of the best mods in HOI4, yet literally no one talks about it or has mentioned it for a while now.
He's going to be playing one of the most overpowered countries in this mod and that is Prussia which has so many focuses for different ways you can go on about uniting Germany.
And you always know that a German + Prussia is an interesting combo.
Nonetheless this is what happens when Tommy plays Prussia in HOI4 End of a New Beginning Mod!

Massive thanks from us at the EoaNB team for checking out our mod. a big note is that we are developing each era at a time, so while the plan is to get to 2050 at some point, we prioritize getting the first part of the mod polished first.
I think you should remove the placeholders until the content is ready to make it feel more polished. Just my opinion though and you might have very valid reasons for not doing that. Great mod either way. Keep it up guys!
Your idea is great but I feel you should focus on the victorian era only because the extra content just makes the game very laggy
Yeah sorry to break it to you but no one is gonna play up to 2050 in HOI4 unless they are actually mentally insane.
I dont mean this in a bad way btw, its good to be ambitious but too much is too much, I mean it could technically work if you added different starting eras but no one is going to play one HOI4 game for 200 ingame years.
@@eoozy2617 agree around 42 it gets boring for some nations or to laggy. i tried to make a world conquest but yeah it got boring and laggy and it feelt like years to wait for stuff to happen. 200 years to many years for one play

@@How23497 The Vic team says it's releasing mid to late 2022. They've been working on Vic3 FOR YEARS at this point, the trailer we were shown wasn't start of development, that was just the reveal that it existed while it was already worked worked on for years

i hope vic3 will have more in dept political stuff, in vic2 you basically picked a party with some buffs and debuffs and that was it, i hope they introduce something more akin to what we have seen here

I very much enjoyed that Tommy basically just recreated German history, all the way down to "wow Austria is pathetic, that was so easy" after the Brother's War

Finally a hoi mod that takes eras from other paradox games.
As a dane i felt sad watching him overrun us even harder than they did in the real war
The problem with Tommy wanting the ai to be more difficult lies in the historic premise of the mod. Prussia absolutely trashed Denmark in 1864, as well as Austria and France because of General Multke.
The the general should have better bonuses, not a country-level bonus.

Prussia did send some observers to the war. And the two things they got from it is "we are great" and Trains are very cool.
I definitely agree that this mod needs to focus on 1 era first. Of course they can go into the modern/future era when they want to but they need a solid base line. If you go alt history in the Victorian era you shouldn’t be forced into the same World war/modern era setups later in the game, so you need to develop new entirely fictional wars and scenarios for if you decide to empower and improve a weaker nation like China or the Ottomans.

I agree with tommy here. They should first focus on the victorian era. But one thing is bothering me. Hoi4 was meant to be only for ww2 and not 100 years. They have to replace the time/day with only days like in every other paradox game because it will be very slow and laggy.
I think they should use this as a proof of concept to create a brand new game if they really wanna do a game that stretches over 200 years like hoi4 is just not designed to handle such an ambitious project

man paradox modding community is kinda weird, in hoi4 they make mods about victorian era(vic2) and in vic2 they make mods about ww2(hoi4) and im not even mentioning all the other games yet

It's pretty good, it's just a very slow mod lol. At least the last time I played it, the mod requires you to have a really good CPU.

I like how Prussia actually goes over to observe the American Civil War because they actually do that in real life. They were obviously planning German Unification at this point as well but it's cool to see that in the game. Also the Prussian's had criticized American tactics and the only notable part of the war to them was the terrain.

This mod is honestly really good. The overhaul starts in such an interesting time period which can allow for some really off the wall alt history. The main issue with the mod is that the HOI4 engine isn’t made for such an ambitious project and the mod will often suffer from intense lag that even the best computers will struggle with. Another core problem is that the mod doesn’t reconfigure HOI4 ai to be able to handle the intense politics of the Victorian age. Apart from these issues, this mod is very good and as a early supporter I can say that this mod can do some very great things for this game.
Just by watching Tommy, I was stressed myself. The developers did an amazing job that is correct, but it is too complex. It can scare away players, like me.
Edit: Stop flexing about how good you are and how "Hoi4 is actually too simple! You should have seen hoi3/hoi2!". I don't care. And that wasn't even my point.
however the complexity means you have to actualy learn which people seem to be afraid of, and in my opinion hoi 4 is way to simple

I've been playing this mod since it first came out. It's supposed to be a 100 year game. So far the devolopers only finished up to the early 1900s.
5:28 I like to play a game for very long. The only problem that always occurs is that there are too many units on the map. And if that happens you just have to remove them via console commands. Always helped me.

1850 - 1950 is better than 2050 but still very hard, like work on a brand new game and start making money off crowdfunding using this mod as a proof of concept if you wanna do such an ambitions project. The Hoi4 engine really can’t handle such an advanced project

In my overall opinion Hoi4 modding community is some best that I I know besides god Minecraft ogs of ogs Hoi4 modding community has created some coolest stuff and expands taking game to a whole new level.
A lot of the content for the other periods is still being worked on. 200 years is a lot of time to cover
Tommy, you should try to play worldbox, its a sandbox-ish game and i think you could enjoy it, but its only a recommendation

I'd love a game that mixes Crusader Kings and Hearts of Iron and maybe the other paradox games. In the sense that I want to be able to RP with my characters that run the country, maybe have to send children to WW1/WW2 etc, basically the idea behind the mod on steroids
