Ngāti Kahungunu mark 200 yrs of Te Pakake Pā battle

The battle of Te Pakake Pā in 1824 was the most devastating battle the region of Hawke’s Bay had ever seen, when Ngāti Kahungunu iwi was invaded by Waikato and its allied tribes. 200 years on, descendants remember its historical significance. Aroha Treacher reports.
