WFM was an amazing series.. Unfortunate that they made a last min decision to change the premise of the show and we got a really botched S1. Funny thing is that they even admitted to it when making the series. IDC what your political opinions about it as well. This is not a political comment like most people use to the ones criticizing the quality of S1. They were just poorly executed. At the very least, nowhere near as good as the prequel and side story were. S2 was also good so S1 had no reason to be as bad, regardless on whether they were appealing to a certain demographic. It was overall just a rushed decision, which was a shame.

I have been steadily getting my hands on the WFM kits over the months, however I’ve only been able to get Michaelis, Lfrith Thorn, and Aerial Rebuild (at least I have one Aerial 😂😭👍)

Great Video, really enjoyed. I recently watched G-witch as my very first Gundam, I've watched some mech before, you know the classics: Gurren Lagann, 86, code geass (has mecha lmao) but i think G-witch stood out to me because of the ideas it was trying to portray. which is where i think a lot of my complaints come from. the show has SO MANY interesting ideas but kinda fails in establishing them. the world in g-witch is super interesting, the earthian-spacian relationships, the future use of GUND, and many more. My complain is very similar to yours: it wasnt long enough. i really think it could have done good with another season to establish many of these themes and ideas that were shown in season 1. But who know lmao, maybe this is common in the Gundam franchise. anyways thats all, keep up the great work!

I definitely agree, after sitting on the series for a bit I've now started to feel stronger about how the series could've used a little more length to establish those themes. G-Witch is rather short for a mainline Gundam series, as many outings are often around 50 episodes rather than 24. However, maybe we'll get more series in this universe/timeline, but only time will tell. (also great anime taste btw, Gurren Lagann rocks!)
It's pretty decent Gundam anime. But if you guys want to watch something more serious than Gundam Zeta should be pretty interesting to watch.

Thank you for the review. In addition to the *insane* prolog episode 0 of Witch from Mercury, with violence and intrigue and ruthless politics, S2 also stuck more in my mind, even though Suletta really pissed me off. This series was so ambitious. I've tried watching Unicorn (supposed to be one of the best of the series), I watched all of the original series, all of IBO, a big chunk of SEED, and none of the stories made me a real fan. I watched the stories and mostly forgot about the characters, was more drawn to the mobile suits and their charismatic designs. WFM completely changed Gundam for me. The ambitious romance angle and the both fiercely loving and damn scary personal dynamics (mom-daughter, father-son, siblings, friends) made this series the most exciting anime I watched in over a decade. I was getting up at 4am on a weekend to watch the episodes in real time and NO anime has ever done that to me. I love how it's a middle finger to a lot of old fashioned prejudices too. The ending could have been better executed but boy was it ambitious and I love it. I prefer a flawed but grand-scale ending like they did rather than a well done ending that plays it safe. And the kits are absolutely beautiful.

Would you ever do a video on Iron Blooded Orphans? I was initially put off by it's tone and character designs, but after giving it a second chance it became one of my favorite (though recognizably flawed) Gundam series. I know a lot of people aren't fans,though.
Honestly I was considering doing a video on IBO; it took me a little bit to get into it, but after a little while I was hooked on the series. While definitely flawed, I think it has its reasons for being quite popular. I had a script going for a review/retrospective, but put it off; thanks to your comment I might just finish that script and get that video out!

Iron blooded orphans is my 2nd favorite and I don't understand the hate.
Sleep on S1 WFM please. That was a last min decision to appeal to the Western audience. It's like the whole first 10 episode can be condensed into a 10 min video. The last 2 episodes are actually coherent. The side stories like the prequel and OVA are worth it. So is WFM S2. Just S1 is really badly executed.

I hate Gundam Witch From Mercury. The Ending of the series is really broken. It's 2023 and I'm still watching Gundam Unicorn and Gundam Seed. I hope Gundam Seed Freedom will be a big success

to each their own... I just could not get into Unicorn or Seed. and I tried. They're more competently written, maybe, but I didn't feel drawn to the main characters in either.
It's an *okay* show, but it's far from peak Gundam. Huge plot holes regarding GUND and Eri. Animation isn't particularly good.

While I can’t argue in terms of story as that is true (it should’ve been longer) even as an IBO fan I have to admit the animation was mostly great!
