They don't call it rush because then the minion doesn't get the Charge bonus from Warsong Commander, _and_ it will get the bonuses of being a Rush minion (such as Woodcutter's Axe Deathrattle). So it changes the interactions with the cards.

@@chayse2556 I would argue that weird, uncommon card interactions were not the intent of the card. Changing it makes it nicer to read and a good way of introducing newer players to the rush mechanic. No one uses it currently and it's not like they haven't changed the card multiple times before. hell the problems they had with this card were the onus for creating Rush to begin with...
at this point just change its name to Rush! and fix the text.

Blizzard doesn’t change cards like “charge” because they don’t like rewording old text. That’s why cards before the “enrage” keyword was launched still contain the words “When damaged: “ like angry chicken. This also applies to many cards with joust effects before joust was introduced

And clearly it would be too much work to change the text on a card.
But seriously they nerfed that card so hard that nobody uses it anyway so I can see why its low on the priority list.

Fun Fact: The "Charge" card actually works ever so slightly different to Rush. If you have an exact scenario where you can cast the spell on a minion in your hand (usage of Illidan and other cards), you can actually grant that effect to a minion in your hand. Wait one turn, and then the minion you cast it on can now immediately hit the opponent in the face. (How do I know this? Because I have tested multiple different possible hand buff effects. Charge // Poisonous // Lifesteal // Taunt work. Divine Shield doesn't. Deathrattle has a unique effect in which the minion will have a deathrattle but the deathrattle doesn't do anything.)

You can have a combination of illidan (spawn 2/1 when you play a card), knife juggler (do 1 damage to random enemy when something is spawned), two explosive sheeps on opponent side (1/1 with deathrattle deal 2 damage to all minions) and, also on opponents side, that one rogue minion that has as deathrattle 'play sap'.
So with this setup, whenever you play a card let's say give your minion (with more than 4 health) charge, this happens:
- illidan spawns before the card you played is triggered (!)
- juggler shoots sheep
- 2 sheep explode, 4 damage to all minions, killing all minions expect your minion with more than 4 health
- deathrattle minion triggers sap on your minion, returning it to your hand
- Only now your actual card effect is triggered, so you give charge to the minion you have currently in hand
A very weird interaction but kinda funny and logical in some way.

he even had the copied 3/4 that deals 5 damage to non mech mnions.......so he had a way to clear that board...........he just panicked hard as hell

@@danielmaster8776 probably because the enemy is armored and dealing one damage to that isnt worth the durability. Better use to clear a minion than chip away 1 armor.
Guys come on, the reason the reason blizzard aren't changing the effect to "Give a card Rush" is cos then if you cast it on a minion that can already attack face, it will still be able to attack face. You lose all the bm points.
Well so can you with rush as far as I know and since it is a spell worrying about recruit and so on is pointless.
That's not how it works. If that was how rush worked, then rush minions won't be able to go face even after a turn.
They won't change it, because that card is the nerf that made Rush possible. It's an artifact at this point.
Actually, there is a nerfed warsong commander, who has synergy with "Charge" text

well charge is actually different from rush, even without attacking heroes. And not so much in its effect, but how other cards interact with it. The only difference in effect is if you have a minion that can attack and use this card, it actually just denies a attack to a hero while adding rush to a minion doesnt do anything really
There is another difference. Warsong Commander buffs charge minion, so it will buff cards didnt have charge in original but buffed by that spell. And that Witchwood axe (dont remember full name) which buffs rush minions makes a difference too.

These things are all technically true, but doubtfully considered on why they didn't change the text to rush.
Simpler answer- they don't use new keywords on classic cards because they phase out new key words, and don't want to change the classic cards over and over.

I like double elekk and then prep espionage prep espionage..... its not very likely to happen but that is 20 new cards with 20 duplicates. On the other hand, when you elekk and espionage on turn 4 into priest deathknight..... they usually concede.

Charge Spell is not rush. If you give a minion on the board rush it can still attack heroes, so in that sense charge is worse

The card charge has a different effect to rush... If you play charge on a minion it cannot attack face that turn even if it was played last turn, if the card gave rush it could attack as normal. It would be important with cards like yogg or deck of wonders where charge could get randomly played on a minion you wanted to hit face with that turn.
So uh how good is your win rate on this deck... i tried playing it around rank 5 and the best I could do was a 1 win streak with around 3 losses in between.. everything is just so fast now I was never able to make it to turn 10 most of the time

Probably just the fact hes a better player, predicting stuff you might not have thought about. Kibler also has a pretty decent winrate with this deck
Ya I play Kiblers version.. I wont deny that they probably play around more stuff than me due to how much they play, but I also wont say I am a horrible player.. I have been playing for a long time too, know how the decks work, what is being run in them, when things are normally played and what might they being setting up to play, etc.
I just get screwed by opponent rng everytime I play this deck

i think it isn't renamed to rush because if you put it on a minion that an already attack the charge card will make it not be able to go face
The spell charge works differently to rush, because if you faceless a minion with the buff charge you can hit face immediately unlike with rush

Haha, see I knew I wasn't the only one thinking that it should be renamed to Rush.
But it can't. It's succinctly different, as giving a minion rush after it's already been able to attack previously, won't stop it from going face.
They could rename it to "Give a minion Rush, it can't attack heroes this turn", though, I guess.
The reason why they don't change it to rusg is because rush is not surely ment to stay for future expansions and not fade away like inspire like adapt and some other key words.
Academic Espionage may be very slow, but damned if it isn't one of the most fun cards ever created in HS (in my opinion)

If you play prep, then play tess while not a rogue, does the next spell get -6 or -3? What if you played 2 preps? Does the recast use up prep?
renaming the card effect of "Charge" is because the very essence of giving a minion "charge" but can't attack the hero is like a buff when you're running the "Warsong Commander". giving a minion rush wouldn't get buffed by warsong commander. just saying my thoughts on this one

Hey, I play an elekk espionage deck as well, mine has pretty much all card draw and then those 4. Its not very reliable, but very fun.
Slightly better than rush because if you cast it on a minion, and then the next turn faceless the minion, it will be able to charge and attack face

If you play faceless manipulator on a minion with charge, it will be able to attack heroes. If you would copy a minion with rush, it wouldn't be able to.
If u use it on a minion which already has charge, it wont allow it to attack face, but if u give a charge minion rush with e.g. Houndmaster Shaw, it will still able to attack face, There is a difference. Free video idea.
Trying Sheri in my espionage deck. Not great, but I do like to do a Frasier impression and offer my opponent a glass of Sheri
Toast is acting stupid. If you put that spell on a minion, and then copy that minion, the copy has charge and can attack face. It's different than just giving it rush. It's like Devilsaur. It doesn't have rush. If you pull it out of your deck or copy it with Menagerie Warden, the copied Devilsaur will be able to attack face.

I play this deck for ladder, it's fun to bully other control deck, but you really need to pray for miracle when facing all those aggro/tempo deck
I think they may have rushed that card speed makes much more sense
I was screaming for him to use shield slam for finisher.. I forget it can only target minions. I guess that would be way too OP if shield slam could hit face.

Rush does not benefit from the card that gives 1 attack to all minions with charge, charge that cannot attack heroes in that sense is better on the otherhand charge doesn't benefit from Rush synergy.

I had a similar game but I was the warrior and I got down to 3 health and then zilliaxed a middle launcher, then dr boomed the next turn to snowball to win the game with 48 health/armor

Dude, I am thinking about the card 'Charge' since weeks!
Well, then you probably have realized by now that there is a difference between the card Charge and and the keyword Rush. The difference may not occur very often, but I have seen it happen. If your minion for example can attack this turn normally, but for some reason Charge gets played on it (Scroll of Wonder, Tess Greymane, etc.), the option to attack the enemy hero is now no longer available.
Also, I guess it would interact with Charge specific cards (Warsong Commander), but not enable Rush cards (Woodcutter's Axe).
yes but the reason they didn't change it isn't because of some minor quirky interactions but just because they can't be bothered to change it even though it would make sense... but tbh it's probably quite hard to change a card text when you only have a small indie company at your disposal
Charged Devilsaur is very interresting for that, it's a rush minion if you play it and a charge one if you summon it

@@Dotoricus first of all u mean board control, which he has to clear for yes, but he floated 9 mana so he couldve heropowered twice and then attack the 3/1 to clear the board without giving the opponent 2 health.. small things like these is what i am thinking about every turn bc every hp matters in this game :D

From the title, I'd assume it's Academic Espionage. You also see it in the video :)
Basically, the last expansion added the Rogue card Academic Espionage, which adds 10 cards from the enemy class to your deck, changing the cost of all of them to 1. That's why he played 3 Scourgelord Garrosh's, all costing one mana.
