The Turkish Kangal - one of the best dogs in the world; powerful, intelligent and protective of its "family."
I have one as a service dog. He will always stay by me, but he hates when our family members go off on their own. For a while I didn't listen when he barked and snarled at certain people, but after one SA'd me I realized he'd never been wrong about the people that he doesn't like. I have a new rule: I do not trust anyone and will avoid anyone my dog does not like. I live rural, and with him I feel safe going for a walk at night despite the cougars and coyotes (plus a sizable amount of knowledge about these animals and how to not make yourself prey).
@@JynxedloveA Kangal as a SD? 😂 The most irresponsible and dumb thing ever.
Yes!!!
I love them so much
This is not kangal. Its a mix thats the reason why they call it anatolian. Both turkish dogs but a pure kangal is way different. Imagine if this dog is like this how a kangal can be
Shepherd dogs remind me of how much human civilization owes these amazing animals.
Legit facts 👍🏼
So much so, even if I did not grow up in an agrarian family, that I see guardian dogs and historically naturally defensive livestock as part of the solution for healthy dynamics and ecology between livestock ranching and predators of the natural surrounding ecosystem.
Besides guardian dogs, there is the story of Texas Longhorns in North America, and possibly other breeds with historically defensive traits in addition to guardian dogs.
What a great way to save Cheeta's and help the farmers at the same time! It's Brilliant 😁
This makes me happy. I am happy for the darmer and the cheetas.
This type of dog is mainly based on Turkey Sivas. As of its name Sivas Kangalı.
Beautiful dog. Thanks for sharing this information.
Captain is looking a bit too thin. Laurie Marker please help this farmer feed his dog.
Mans’ best friend. 😁
Truth
There's a very very good reason the brightest star in the evening sky is in the dog constellation.
Sirius in Canis Major, or great dog, is the brightest star in the night time sky.
@@kirkthiets2771 nice to know. Thank you.
That's amazing. Maybe get 1 or 2 more like him
Might wanna feed that dog.
They’re supposed to look like that.
@@Powerranger-le4up Not from what I've seen.
It's 3am and I'm in a camp site in the cederberg mountains and thier is a stray Anatolian Shepard dog outside my cabin barking and howling plaintively I feel very sorry fir this dog! It belonged to a farmer in the area who sold thier farm and now the dog has no fixed home so I'm lookimg up al about this types of dog as I've never even seen one. I'm hoping for a happy outcome for this dog
I have an Anatonian Shepherd: Shadow. He's loving, caring and very energetic.
Not a dog for people who dont know dogs. American mastiffs are english mastiffs crossed with the Anatolian; better genetics, dry mouth, but more independent and unpredictable around strangers. Requires an experienced owner with a firm hand, or these dogs can run the show.
Anatolian...Yes, they're one of the best herding dogs👍😁
Good boy Captain!
feed the dog! He is too thin :(
A fabulous win win.
Dog appears too thin??
We love our Anatolian/Akbash! They are great girls!!
This is wonderful!
And he’s at his prime. 2yrs old
Kangal 🐶❤
Anatolian
Go Captain!
Lets go, Captain!!!!
Awwww good captain
Wow!
''Turkish Sivas Kangal'' is the name!
That was great
Yes, beautiful, but don't forget to feed it.
Don't forget to feed it? What a weird remake to make.
I heard in Turkey they don’t feed them because they hunt for themselves. I don’t have a farm but I do have a moderate size yard and my Anatolian killed a rabbit that came in the yard and half ate it.
Ive seen this also in Botswana 🇧🇼
Great but Gees...can you feed the poor animal...
Sivas Kangal best dog in the world🇹🇷❤️
win win
Also get a female, and two neutered males for an ultimate power pack.
This is so interesting! What’s the rationale behind this combination?
@@rachaelleonard2951 I read this about akbash and great pyrenees but it can probably be applied to anatolians/kangal the females tend to stay closer to the animals while the males stray further and mark the territory and are more built for combat and there's two of them so they wont be outnumbered in a solitary predators ambush and they are usually neutered so that a fight for dominance is far less likely.
a great idea that's been working in Europe for centuries....just don't forget to feed him, looks a little bit skinny
I think he's on the thin side because he's always on the move. Like a runner in training... And being slim may help with speed when needed. W onderful thing is the cats population is growing
@@christinekelly8766 and he not working in Europe centuries even today its ilegal taking them from Turkey. you need government permission. so only Turkey have this dogs centuries
@@kayacenk4164 yeah he means using dogs in general to herd and protect livestock not this specific breed.
feed him better!
Feed him !
where can I get one in Namibia
That is animal abuse and suicide for Captain. He need more than one dog
This is not animal abuse
He looks so skinny! Is that healthy? 😟😟
Just wondering why one dog. Would having more than one not further increase the success rate?
He said with just Captain, they have had zero loss.
Why use more than you need?
As an owner of livestock guardian dogs, it is well known that the most humane thing you can do is have at least two since a pack can gang up and take out a solo dog. They’re just lucky it hasn’t happened yet.
Kangal doesn't stand a chance against a cheetah. Since he is a brave dog and will not back down, he loses his own life instead of the herd animal. He stands in the herd only to intimidate. Cheetahs do not attack the herd unless they are a clear target, so their losses are zero. When they attack one day, there are only dog casualties.
@@user-up7ro4xs2f Cheetahs are the weakest big cat. A Kangal can easily defeat one. Cheetahs are not even a threat to a humans. Any other big cats though would defeat the Kangal.
@Smithsonianchannel in india there's gaddi dogs
Why not have like four
Mbeu has probably killed alot of cats.
Yes,he is cute. 🐐🐕 🇬🇧
Can’t you just teach the goats to keep quiet? Tone it down a little?
No?
The farmer needs to feed this dog! He's working for you all day and this is how you reward him, by starving him? Feed him please.
STG
I’m pretty sure this guys feeds his dog perfectly fine, the farmer is very experienced stop acting like you know better than him
No Training needed. Genetically bred.
L.G.D.
Livestock Guardian Dog.
This is animal abuse and animal cruelty, Captain is already dead. You need at least 4-6 dogs with predators and big cats like that. You have set your dog up to be killed🤬🤬🤬
Fr
cant stand toy dogs
long live working dogs
feed him better!
