Do you need to connect the deionizer to electricity before you regenerate the exhausted resins? You didn't mention the functions of electric current in the deionization process also.
Thanks for the video. I’m interested in knowing more about the costs in the context of desalination of seawater. Is this more expensive than reverse osmosis?
Mam cation, anion regenration process me jab ye rins p chl rhe ho to kya resin or feed water me bhi vhi reaction hogi jo product water time p hoti h. Agar hoti h to iska regenration life or conductivity p kya effect hoga .
Mam unthis topic first chamber middle part is packed with anion exchange resin. And second chamber middle part packed with cation exchange resin they will be able to prepare H+ ions and OH-ions mam can you please 😮explain briefly in another video
We remove cation first because outgoing water after cation removal is acidic in nature and acidic water do not destroy any type of resin but if we remove anion first then outgoing water is alkaline in nature and alkali destroy the cation exchange resin. Thus we cannot remove anion first.
Yes, first the anions will be removed and then the cations. This is a very simple demineralisation set up. In industries, four to six columns will be used to remove weak cations and anions and strong cations and anions. Only then water with very low hardness can be obtained.
Raw water means any source of water without treatment ( untreated water). It can be tap water, well water, pond water, underground water etc. ( any fresh water source) This water will contain many minerals in it.
thx you, for explaining this and taking time to enlight us with your light , love to you and all that is, the only thing i was looking into was the resin , i see alot of resin but does tree resin also works for this? @@RevathiPurushothaman

Thanx... but the audio volume was too low, I have to turn high my speaker volume before.... pls work on that cos ur videos are highly educative
Thank you very much. I have rectified this issue in my new videos.
Well explained. i got it crystal clear
Thank you.
Thank you for explaining in simpler terms
You are welcome.
Do you need to connect the deionizer to electricity before you regenerate the exhausted resins?
You didn't mention the functions of electric current in the deionization process also.
For pumping the water and other reagents, electricity should be used.
Thanks.
Nice explanation
Thank you.

After demineralisation or ion exchange process TDS of water will get reduced? Pls reply thanks in advance 🙏
Yes. It will get reduced.
Mam regeneration of resins hony k Baad Jo Na+ aur Cl- ions hai wo Kahan jaain gay???
The cation and anion will react with anion and cation coming out of the column respectively. For example it will form CaCl2 and NaSO4 etc.
Really it is useful, kindly upload mixed bed resin ion exchange process....
Thank you. Sure.
V.good explained
Thanks for your compliments.

fabulastic very nice explanation

Why we given caustic first... In the regeneration
Your question is not clear. Kindly clarify.
@@RevathiPurushothaman why we 1st given naoh chemical for regeneration, why not given acid ?
@@RevathiPurushothaman
In regeneration time why we 1st regenerate the anion resin.
So, final product is distilled water ?
We should not call it distilled water as the process is distillation in that case. We should call it demineralised or deionized water.
Great mam u help me a lot
Thanks
easy clear and interesting
Thank you very much.
Super madam
Thank you
My pleasure. Thanks.
Very good explanation. Can we use anion exchange resin and cation exchange resin in one common column (column with two beds)?
Usually no.
We can use cation and anion exchange resin in one column in mixed bed ion exchange process.
Yes
Super 👌 👍
Thank you very much.
How if the mixbed column , how about process and regeneration process. Please advise me to the best process.
In an efficient process, we will have four beds. So mixed bed is not preferred.
excellent
You are most welcome.
perfect
Thank you.
Very good explanation
Thank you.
why must we remove the cations first? what if we remove the anions first?
We can remove any way, but this is usually followed.
We remove cation first because outgoing water after cation removal is acidic in nature and acidic water do not destroy any type of resin but if we remove anion first then outgoing water is alkaline in nature and alkali destroy the cation exchange resin. Thus we cannot remove anion first.
Thank you
You are welcome.
Mam then how the impurities goes out ?
We are regenerating the ion-exchangers to remove the minerals.
In this pricess Demineralised water and battery water are same ?
Demineralisation process is very expensive. It is mainly suitable for industries, where water consumption is very high.
i love you and my dr too.
knowledge easily acquired.... Excellent
Thank you.
Dhanybad mam
What is the meaning? Is it Dhanyavad?
@@RevathiPurushothaman yes its dhanyavad
Thanks mem ,how much should I use HCl and Noah with 100lts of water
Dil HCl and Dil NaOH is that mean for regeneration resin?
Yes, to regenerate exhausted cation and anion exchange resin respectively
@@RevathiPurushothaman is that always R-H and R-OH or can change with the other ion? Like Na+ maybe?
R-H & R-OH, is R here an alkyl? if yes, can you write out complete reaction as an example?
R is a complex resin. It is a long chain crosslinked polymer.
How can we determine exhaustion of resin?
By determining the hardness of water. When hardness increases beyond specification limit, it had to be regenerated.
Is this notes suitable for alliedchemistry(2020)?
This is ion-exchange process or demineralisation process. Check if this topic is there in your syllabus.
Should be suitable.
Can we use anion exchange column first then cation exchange column?
Yes, first the anions will be removed and then the cations. This is a very simple demineralisation set up. In industries, four to six columns will be used to remove weak cations and anions and strong cations and anions. Only then water with very low hardness can be obtained.
Thank You.

You need to use ion exchange resins which are capable of exchanging ions. It is a vast field of science to be learnt separately.
