    I'm a novice at this and I was searching for some decent tutorials on vibrational systems for simulators - this is an excellent tutorial!!

    UA-cam seems to be filled with marginally valuable tutorial videos that don't even include voice over. This video, on likely an amateur budget, is truly exceptional. It is VERY CLEAR, informative, and the choreography between live video, audio, and graphic overlay is not only valuable content matching the title, is is also very much in my opinion, an excellent example of how to produce, in every sense of the word, a great UA-cam informational video without worrying about flashy graphics that only tend to distract from the content. Instant thumbs up and subscribe. I'd watch if you were carving a pumpkin!

    For some reason, the previously uploaded video did not work anymore. So here is a re-upload. In my present setup, I use the PWM output of the Shaker card to drive two homemade transducers via two 20W amplifiers. A third transducer is driven by the flightsim audio signal and single 20W amplifier. See tactile transducer section on my website for details.

    Dratts! Just when I was seriously considering making a 6DOF platform this comes along. (:
    Well done and a great tutorial.

      Please have a look at bffsimulation.com/BFF_Shaker_Driver.php
      This system has more functions than the shaker card and does not need an external power amp.

      Yes, i want to use this and buy it 4 weeks ago, , but had to shipping back , i think there is an error on my bff board, will see for future :)

    Could anyone tell me where I might get the pulley and crankshaft parts? Not even sure what to Google. Google-ing "motor crankshaft" etc. just brings up car part results...

    Will the bff shaker work with il2 cliffs of dover (with the team fusion mod that has device link like interface)?

    Hi, would you consider selling a plug and play version to me? I am in Vienna - so maybe could go get the device personally from you in Germany. Great tutorial!

      Sorry, I don't build kits for others. But you can order the BFF shaker card from BFF website bffsimulation.com.
      All you need is some transducers and audio amp.

    i wonder if a piezo shaker used for structure analysis would useful for higher frequency vibrations and whines??

    • @Rolandvanroy
      @Rolandvanroy  8 років тому

      +raindogred : I guess it could be used. Not sure how to drive piezo shaker though: if it has similar drive requirements as speaker it should be fine. Note that frequency range between 5Hz and 40Hz are normally most important for flightsim vibrations.

    • @raindogred
      @raindogred 8 років тому

      +Rolandvanroy you could drive a piezo with an audio amplifier, they are used commercially as tweeters. Just using a standard piezo disc you would get vibration. Harnessing those vibration into something usefull is another matter ;)

    It is a shame that the graphics of the simulator itself are so bad in comparison to most games dropping now. :(
    Cool video though. :)

    Why dont you just try and find some flight simulator enthusiast and together you can buy a cessna airplane and experience the real deal.
