Lets try out some UV Filters

- This month I encountered two scenarios were people may try a UV filter. One for water that was going green. And another where a new fish contracted Ich. Don't forget that Ich has a fairly long life cycle. So you need to use the UV a good bit longer than the last day you see thee white spots to capture them in the next life cycle. #uvsterilizer #aquarium
Using the #seachem Stability product along side the UV filter makes the very unscientific. But that's the way It went down and I'm not sure if one or the other was more responsible for it getting better. Let me know what you think in the comments.
These UV products are fairy old ( I don't have links) but there are all sorts of similar ones you can get with a little searching.
Hey folks be sure to check the description for more information about this video.
Excellent video as always. You are pretty much the only UA-camr that would stay calm and not over react to green water and ich. Thank you for being you.
I appreciate you saying that!
Nice vid. FYI, most ich meds I’ve used (malachite green) in combo with 80 degrees eliminate Ich in three days.
Looking forward to next vid showing all your tanks.
Merry Christmas!
Definitely gonna check out you're Christmas tour! Always loved all your setups!!
awesome video the tanks look amazing cool fishes
Thanks for sharing your experience with UV. I like the Coodia UV from Amazon. Mine is sitting in the closet for the next time I need it. They work well for spot treatments but I no longer use them long term (Sun Sun Filter).
I would guess that the UV would have done more than the stabilty gor green water, as a well cycled aquarium can still have the same state. Also mindblown that you could clear up ich with just the UV - but it makes sense! I have had success beating ich with just ich-x (malachite green) at typical temps, and upping the heat but what a great experiment! Thanks for sharing.
my anubias has yellow leaves just like yours does...have you found anything to help those yellow leaves? I have been using Aquarium-Coop's "Easy Green" weekly for a few months now and all it is doing is increasing green hair algae. Happy Holidays Sean.
I would try root tablets next if it’s roots have reached the substrate. I think mine maybe a lack of iron from not doing water changes.
@@pecktec yeah, I stopped doing water changes a while ago so maybe that is why they are yellowing. Thanks Sean!
