+Coffeecake Stayawake Thank freaking goodness, I thought I was the only one. For a second I assume I have some weird mental disability but then after seeing your comment I;m relieved it's a normal thing xD
I love this guy, only literally just found him and already I love his art. I watched his first video for tips and I loved how casual he was about it. At the moment im just starting out and i get really frustrated when my sketches suck butt. Watching a guy that is laughy helps me feel more calm. I look forward to watching more
Just found you and i'm already impressed of your art skills and how you just turn example lines into full images. I wish I could make such spontaneous pictures... and even such GOOD ones.
That first tip about sketching from the shoulder really helps a lot! It was something I wasn't aware of, sometimes I would do it and others I wouldn't, so this is great. keep it up
Cybernetic werewolves are badass. I drew one as well lol i was fresh out of high school too. Had a whole story and team written out but soon found that to do it by myself was a little overwhelming especially for a kid straight out of high school. Great vid and even tho i already use your tips it is exactly what a struggling aspiring artist would need. Keep it up.
Your tips are seriously helpful! Going to try them all out after work :) Also thank you for always saying not to take your sketching too seriously, that's one of my biggest problems and it's good to keep being reminded :)
hey will, could you maybe make a video specifically about drawing caricatures? or maybe capturing likeness in general thanks for all the videos anyway, man they're great!
That chukle though lol. So so inspirational! And i get instantly in to a good mood after i watched your videos. You have such a pleasant voice to listen too! Keep up the good work!
I always dance to your opening music, I love it! Great tips! I'll really need to try them. The comparison with music made total sence to me (I play the flute for 8 years now)! I hope this realisation will help both my art and my music :)
You made that character with such ease, i am still trying to doodle a little closer to what you made. I guess I need to practice a lot before coming even close to what you make.
Your laugh is cute, your art is fun. And your tips really apply to life too, no only art. You make me feel life is much less heavier through rough days. And at first I thought you were an old man haha.
Wow, really helpful tips especially the "draw with your shoulder" tip and I seen your other tips too so thank you so much!!! I will seriously keep this in mind. Also, something to add, I'm not really a fan on cartoons when it comes to drawing but when I seen that grouchy monster I was all like "awwwwww I'll turn that frown upside down huggies". So I shall subscribe!! Loving the cartoon style!!! Hehehe, sorry for it being long...
great video again :), could you do more of these videos about some usefull techniques. this really motivates me to practice. would be awesome if you brighten up more of these usefull things to practice.
About a year ago I came across this video and tried so hard to hold my pencil the same way and it was so uncomfortable and weird feeling. I just thought I'd never get it, like my hand just did not want to do The Thing right and the other day I was sketching (on the back of a placemat at Denny's, like srs artists do) and realized I'd been holding my pencil that way for months and didn't realize I'd started to do it on my own without even thinking I was doing it and how much better my sketches where looking because of it :0
Oh my goodness... DAT GRASS! DAT SWORD! Man, you are amazing, thanks so much for sharing all those little secrets. Also, the gaming comparison cracked me up, it's so true! XD
One thing that I find helpful is to swtich from drawing from your arm to drawing from your wrist when doing smaller drawings. Also you can even use your fingers if the details are too small. However I find that you shouldn't combine for example drawing from your arm + fingers cos it is impossible to control and can leave you angered. Its good to switch though :)
I love your optimism and happiness!! BTW I barely noticed the link to this video from the previous 5 tips. P.S. The more strength you apply the less accurate you are is also mentioned by a brain scientist (Watch "The real reason for brains" TED talk on youtube)
Well, I was surpirsed by sketching from shoulder. Why? Probably 'cause I'm drawing from my wrist. Honeslty? I didn't knew that it could help with drawing but now I see that this is true :D Thank you so much for all your tips, they're really helpful, not only this one with drawing from shoulder :D
Hey Will! I had the epiphany that I probably should be using brush pens for some of the work I do. Are there any brands that regular stores carry or are they mainly sold in artstores? Maybe you have a brand recommendation to start with?
I will keep on smiling as long as I have adorable, excellent monster riff-raff type of characters at the ends of all videos I watch. Failing that, I will have to remember those monster feet. That will keep me smiling!
i love your personality on camera and your really talented. Thank you for the tips =) How long did it take you to learn your skills? did you start drawing really messed up then got better? thought i should ask because mine kinda looks like a 4 year old drew it..... I'm 24 lol
Hey, so I'm having serious trouble drawing shoes on different angles. It was one of those skills that fell into the wayside for some reason, so I have this problem where I draw a good looking person but their shoes are horrendous. Any tips for fixing that?
Do you ever get so distracted by the ad you forget what video you clicked on
That happens to me too, hahaha
Yeah
+Coffeecake Stayawake i did got distracted on weed and didnt know what i commented on
+Coffeecake Stayawake Thank freaking goodness, I thought I was the only one.
For a second I assume I have some weird mental disability but then after seeing your comment I;m relieved it's a normal thing xD
Lol yeah.
I've never wanted to hug a man more in my entire life than I do Will Terrel! LMAO. He's like a giant teddy bear who teaches art to people.
MrOmniblast Barney version😂😂😂
Will Terrell: Defying how light makes shadows since 2013.
Tip 1 already helped drastically with accuracy of drawing shapes lol.. especially my worst enemy.. the circle -.-
+nnaidirem everyone can relate T^T
i feel like there should be an animated gif of you doing the crazy shoulder movement face.
Oh Indi 😄😄😄
D Brown
my sides have erupted. xD

No. 2 has been what I've needed to hear for so long. Thanks. It's really helping me loosen things up.
lol that sphere shading was a failure
Yeah lol
+Mokona Modoki hahaha yeah fail...the shade position lol
it's just a demonstration
Your laugh is just so amazing makes me chuckle every time I hear it. Id come back to ur videos just for that if not for the awesome art you make.
tip 1 broke me. Sketching from your shoulder. WHAT?? I use both. I use my shoulder and my wrist. Without thinking. DAMNIT YOU MADE ME THINK AGGGH
Love your tutorials .... I'm a newbie, just getting the courage to share my drawings on some Facebook groups! Donna

No wonder. I drew my picture small, but shoulder made it bigger when aiming small.
Noice
That soldier is a spy!
Your tips are AMAZING!!
you´ve already made me better! THANKS!
You made that character with such ease, i am still trying to doodle a little closer to what you made. I guess I need to practice a lot before coming even close to what you make.

Bro thank's a lot for the awesome vid!

This makes a lot of sense! If the pencil is doing all the work, I guess it makes sense that we don't want to strangle it while it is working! haha :D
Awesome video 👍
