The Runt 20 and 50 are solid beautiful work horse gigging amps. When I first got my Runt 50 I was surprised at how well that clean channel took pedals.

That BE sounds so FRIGGIN GOOD....it hurts. I’ll tell ya though. The Runt 50 get’s close to that. The clean isn’t quite as nice, but it get’s a killer cranked plexi tone. For the guys on a budget, the Runt 50 is the way to go IMO. Btw...are you adding those effects via plugins? Sounds great.
The BE is DA tone but the Runt is super close...amazing amps!...yes I add Dly and Verb on my DAW ( UA lexicon and Korg Dly)

Wow!! I noticed the Runt sounds a bit more forward, “in your face” in this clip. Not small at all! Very impressed. The BE comes in and it’s like....OK. They sound so similar, but the BE is almost thinner, but in a good way. It’s wider. Spread out. A bit more defined and polished, but that RUNT is very “exciting” sounding. Like, charged up!!
Which do you feel is more inspiring for everyday playing for the money? I’m kind of leaning Runt...
Actually...it is just like you say!!...although the BE can get as aggressive as that...the Runt is awesome....that brown eye channel is the best crunch around!
@@GonzaCordo thanks for the feedback man!! Now I gotta go track down a 20 and 50 to see which one works out best for me. Can you get good lead tones with a delay in the loop at ultra low volumes with the 50? Trying to make this amp be the house and gig amp hahaha. Tricky task.
@@alexwalker5645 you can man...but you'll be losing some power tubes goodness...they sound great at low volueme!...i can say that the main difference it's the clean channel...
Awsome!!!! - Runt 50 makes a great gigging amp if you dont want to haul a $3700 amp to a club/bar/festival/barmitzva/wedding/graduation/etc.. with a few pedals it will do everything most people would need!!

@@GonzaCordo Actually, I am missing some low end in comparison to the BE 100 Deluxe. Maybe the 50 Watt version of the Runt would be more suitable. Could be my ears....Nonetheless, nice video. I like your "VH" like playing style.

The thing is you mix the speaker but not getting the bottom of the cab...in the room is huge

Were these running to the same speaker cab/mics or were you using a load box and IR's?
I only play on stage with a captor X load box with one XLR going to the PA and one XLR going down to a QSC K12.2 behind me for stage sound. I'm not worried about decible output difference between 100 vs 20 watts but more of the feel and headroom when using one or the other (say for example, Runt 20 vs Runt 50) through the Captor X.
It’s my cab with Black Backs…I feel that the only difference it’s level but sound it’s super close!
Is the runt el84s?. It sounds good but has that top fizz like ac30 or tiny terror distortion. I never can fully enjoy distortion on el84 amps. Where as the be sounds like el34 proper Marshall distortion type sound. More pleasing and organic
I know what you mean!....it’s amazing how this amp sounds like El34 powered not being on...it is El84...it sounds big and full not fizzy at all!
Runt or the Pink Taco, which one would you choose? Would be cool to see that video comparison 😁👌
I haven’t played to much that Taco!…I know is darker but that was like 3 years ago…

PT easy. I had a Runt 50 at one point, currently have a BE 100 Deluxe and Dirty Shirly 40. The Runt was incredibly bright and not in a way that I personally prefer. Pink Taco is killer.
Put a Friedman Buxom Boost pedal in front of the Runt and it’s even BETTER.👍🏼

For sure!….I’d use something cheaper though… MXR line boost or micro amp!

Un par de dudas respecto al runt, con la distorsión al máximo y el boost activado, anda bien para metal?... me refiero a si le da de sobra, no que esté a punto y necesite depender de cápsulas activas o cosas así.. y lo otro, cómo se porta con pedales externos? en particular boost, overdrive, fuzz, etc... lo que pasa es que me compré un cabezal Engl que suena brutal, pero se porta super mal con los pedales y eso me tiene medio decepcionado (porque igual a veces no toco puro metal), entonces ando viendo opciones
bueno y también se me ocurrió una tercera (estas son puras dudas que uno podría resolver yendo a probarlo pero actualmente no se puede jaja)... es posible configurarlo con suficiente volumen en el canal limpio sin que se distorsione como para tocar con una banda? entiendo que con el canal 2 eso no es problema por tener el master
Mira tiene harta ganancia pero no es extrema para metal…es más high gain más vintage…ochentero … y toma los pedales súper bien…el runt 50 no satura nunca el limpio en el 20 si satura más
