Olga, I cannot begin to tell you how your love for the garden and the warmth you share inspires me. Truly, your channel is one of my very favorites! So thank you, and may God bless you in all you do.
We moved house in early spring and I transplanted my two roses over to the new garden. One climbing rose I commented about before and a schneewittchen white rose. I transplanted it over in a pot and when digging up, she didn't had any roots all. Also just the bare root stock. I will keep the white rose in the pot for a few years and then put her in our heavy clay soil. The rest of the plants I put in a trash bag with lots of soil and moisture and tied up the bag snuggly at the base. I transplanted the climbing rose, her lavender companions and Bobo hydrangea in the soil, as soon as I had the time and after clearing and preparing the area. Now we will have to wait and see how they develop in the upcoming season🤞🏻🌹🌿
Congratulations on your new home! How exciting! I would also take my plants with me, if moving. I probably would need a little truck for that. Haha. I think your roses will do great in pots.
I transplanted some roses in early march in zone six. I would say just a tad early . There was minimal damage and now that the climate is warming they are on the rebound. I am still waiting for four emily Bronte, and lady of shallot and crown princess margareta to arrive.
Watering with potassium humate is suggested to relieve transplanting stress and to help the plant to grow new roots. Hopefully your Boscobel flourishes in the new spot (it’s one of my favorite!❤❤❤)
@@OlgaCarmody We don't have that here. I I am slowly changing all my potted soils to something with better drainage...hopefully that will help. And also trying seaweed/ kelp fertilizer plus humic/ fumic acid to help nutrient absorption. I live in the tropics.
Have you done research on frequency technology as a rabit and rodent detours. There might be something out there to help. But then again if you have tolerance for a cat that could also help you out.
I probably wouldn’t install electronic repellants. What I need is a good garden gate on the other side of my house. And really closing all the little gaps once and for all. Well, another project. Thank you for your suggestions!
Hi Olga, Will you place an order online for couple of bareroot roses with me from ePlants Ireland? They have healthy ownroot bareroot roses €14or €16 each and fixed shipping of €49 for upto 9 roses. I don’t need 9, but if we place order together for 9 bareroot roses and split them it would be worth. Since you are close from my place i can just drive to your house and give them to you.
Hi Sarmishtha, I thought about buying more roses, I decided not to do that. If you buy, please let me know the condition of those bareroots at the arrival. I think that the journey to US can be tough. Thank you and enjoy your day!
Your rose certainly was not thriving in that spot. I hope she will like it much better in her new home! I buy the black wire waste baskets at the dollar store and cut the bottoms out to place around my plants. Those pesky bunnies!
My dad always says $5 plant in a $50 hole :) Preparing the new planting space is so important.
So true! Thanks.
This brings back memories of aching and tired muscles the next day! 😊

You too, have a lovely spring! Thank you!
This video is so helpful! I had to move 4 roses in Fall and summer.

You really saved this rose from the brink!! The new location is going to be beauuuuutiful!
I think that rose was going to die, good that I didn’t linger another years.

I hope my rose will flourish, her roots are so small! How exciting that your roses are coming! Enjoy these spring garden days!
You explain things so well. Thank you 😊
You’re welcome 😊

Thank you for your suggestion. I just might treat that rose with extra stuff, to bring her out of her miserable state.
Can you do a garden tour / update on your
New Dawn roses please 🙏🏻? 🌹 i just planted mine and I’d like to see what it’ll look like in a couple years 💐
Yes, spring tour will be lovely. Stay tuned.
I also use black cow
Olga, where can I find the green elastic you use to tie up the climbing roses? Where did you buy yours?
I bought it on Etsy, store was going out of business.
My roses also have a very small root system. I think its the reason they aren't thriving at my set up.
Did you try mycorrhizal drench? It might help...

That is one good suggestion! Thank you for sharing it! We always learn from each other!
Looks like smth was eating it from below, maybe mice or moles.
Oh, I don’t know, that rose is a suffering one. Hopefully on a new place it will thrive. We will see…
