Notes: Best white belt guards for Carson: 1. Collar Sleeve guard - Low learning curve, highly effective 2. Spider guard - to counter double pant grip 3. Halfguard - get stuck in here a lot, so learn it ASAP Best white belt submissions for Carson: 1. Leg triangle (easy to attack from collar sleeve & spider guard) 2. Arm Bar (if the triangle is not available)
Yup, once you compete at a higher level, white to brown can be very very slow. It has to be that way with this generation now. You go compete blue belt worlds, almost all those guys are black belt level already. You have to sandbag in a way.@@vedu8519
I was a white belt for 3 years. Train mostly NoGi (now it's only NoGi). We cannot promote ourselves. Blame the culture of needing to be graded in a Gi, or you can blame coaches for holding students back, didn't bug me personally I just care about skill. Don't look too deep into belts, if you care about fairness at all then this sport is the worst one you could've picked with steroids being so common even people at our local gym take them. You also get people who train 2x/day enhanced, & people who train 3x/week, in the same bracket. Don't take the sport too serious man we ain't there yet 😂
I, too, was a white belt for 3 years. Blue belt for a little over 2 years. Currently a purple belt 💜 I have never competed. My professor competed a lot in his day. Nothing is free in my gym, lol. So, sometimes, it is not sandbagging, but your coaches won't promote you until the belt fits nicely.
@@derrickrobinson7269 brother if you’re not graded appropriately then you’ll have a white belt who should be a blue belt taking first in pans every year lol. I know there are some coaches who will do that to make it seem like they have the best students and to me that’s wrong. I do agree it should take some time to get that blue belt but not three years. Also if you’re doing no gi when you put on a gi that should change your performance. And after seeing someone perform with no gi for three years then out on a gi you would see that that person has some good experience.
@@3nt3rtain this why they need to get rid of belts, just like in boxing or muay thai, if you have at least 2-3 years of grappling experience your not a beginner anymore.
@fat2fitdad758 can't lie, that kinda makes me feel better. I'm 33 yrs old. This is the most athletic I've ever been. I probably could have trained harder, but whatever. I'm going to do it.

Amazing job! You deserved the win much more than that sandbagger. But there are other countries apart from North america. Ibjj worlds, europeans, brazilian nationals, Asia etc etc. Not to account for people that cant travel or afford to be in those competitions, 2nd best whitebelt of 2022 is a bit clickbaity.

3 year white belt and took 2nd in Pans the year prior. Sandbagging.
You are a natural born teacher + teaching a great sport + a good platform to teach. Keep going!! Love this video style!!!
Sick to see the hip bump triangle in the intro, that move carried me in so many comp matches
Been training for 2.5 years. Still an 8 stripe white belt!
Ahh there is only 4 strips to a white belt lol.
This is my dad, he’s a 3 stripe blue 😂
wow you must have some social issues@@AaronJohnson-fz5pw

3 year white belts happen. White belts should not be staying white belt for a full extra year after placing on the podium at pan ams lmao
Did you say that guy in the finals was a white belt for 3 years?
Thats not that crazy. A lot of competition schools take longer to rank. My school is about 2.5-3 years on average to get your blue.
@@vedu8519I’ve trained with Gustavo Dantes, nova uniao and we were a competitive school didn’t take that long. Idk

I train for 2 years and have only one stripe so far. I am just not that good and don't go that often.
@@Azurechyou didn’t really train for 2 years then, if there was big gap on how often you trained.
You did say three years. That’s kind of sand bagging that’s way too long to be a white belt

3 year white belt loli think thats a blue belt...
Couldn’t agree more. I was a white belt for a year and half before I went blue.
Max level sandbagger in the finals
You’re awesome, Carson
I have my FIRST competition tomorrow as a blue belt. 💙 I'm nervous as fuck lol
Go get that gold bro 💯 💪
My first comp as a 1 stripe blue belt will be in just under 6 weeks..😐😊🫣🫣 and I’m 48 years old 🤣

i started like 2-3 weeks ago (4 at most) no experience and its the only thing i look forward to during my week now.

It’s funny cause the 2 clips I used walking into the pans building was 2023 pans not 2022 but shhh 😂
Carson, you rock
Its so funny bc I'm in early blue and I am also just learning about/getting into half guard
oh wow we started at the exact same time haha
how exactly do i sandbag my experience, asking for a friend
You are awesomely scary! All the best!
THAT WAS AMAZING!! BOY, IM GLAD I FOUND YOU
Do you have a guard suggestion for white belt no gi? Also you can take quick acting glucose / dextrose mix it in some water with body armor.
Collar sleeve, spider guard, halfguard. Those are my essentials imo

Competeee bro, also I need to learn the bolo but haven’t had much experience in the position. I think it’s played a lot at the higher levels.
dont focus on that now get your basic positions down that will also help you learn the principles of hitting berimbolos
Did you say white belt for 3 years on Tim ?

2nd best whitebelt who was competing, that is. I'd challenge you if you come to Washington some time ;)
Your name is No Challenge TV... But you're challenging someone...huh?
It’s actually crazy but I live in Seattle now. When and where 🥰 100% serious drop the gym
@Carsahh I thought so from some of your videos, I know I saw you trained out of Port Orchard? I'm in Kirkland Gracie Barra. Would love to get humbled!
