    I learned from this, got a few ideas of my own now. Knife's not sharp enough though sharper than at the start.

    I'm really pleased with this! It works like a charm ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ Takes less time than my old electric sharpener because it can take more off the knife faster, and then it smooths out nicely with the finer grit polisher. I don't know how long it will last before the grit wears away, but I wouldn't mind having to replace it every once in a while.

    To get a razor sharp edge on a knife you probably needed to go to a 6000 grit stone. Your knife may not have been made from the best steel. The jig looks like it worked as intended....AND you don't need an 8 x 10 room to store it in.

    Основание для камней должно иметь форму квадрата (!), здесь же камни получились на разной высоте и угол заточки будет отличаться.

    The jig is perfect, but try to sharpen in One direction Alone, even when you turn the knife. Also, like Pike Evans said, make another arm where you can stick other stones, from 2.000 to 10.000 grit.

    17 DPS for a razor? More like 5 to 7 DPS; 10 to 14 degrees inclusive.
    Sharpen a razor on a stone the edge and spine are both touching the stone to set the right angle.
    Why you want such an obtuse 50 degree inclusive in a knife?
    Hell, 30 to 40 degrees inclusive is what an axe/hatchet/tomahawk is supposed to be.
    A knife at 50 degrees inclusive? that ain't "sharp" and won't cut or slice worth a shit.
    "But it cuts paper!!!"
    SO?!? How often in the course of your day are you cutting paper? do you open envelopes all day?
    How thin will it slice a tomatoe or bread? Will it cut the string/cord/rope your using out in the boonies for whatever, or make a feather stick for starting your camp/cooking fire?
    "Nope". Won't even sharpen a damn pencil.
    50 degrees inclusive is worthless in an axe, let alone a knife.
    Try sharpening to a 10 to 20 degree inclusive angle, and see how much better your knife cuts and slices.

    It's a good idea, but glueing stones with epoxy glue is a mistake. And the shown knife sharpening is generally fake!

      @LucidDreamer54321 3 роки тому +2

      There are two basic types: "rod end bearing male" and "rod end bearing female". You can do a search on the internet to see the difference between the two. They also come with either right hand or left hand threads. The left hand thread is for some specialized machine applications where a connecting point is already threaded with left hand threads.
