I followed the instructions on a video from @KhantipolKasemsant to sync them together. He does it with a Roland S1, but it’s the same thing for this one as well. The reason is just so that I can hit play on one of them and play both at the same time, and also because I just have two inputs on my interface, and I was doing stereo, so it needed both of them. This way I can route the audio of the Roland into the EP 133 and use the built in effects. You are totally right on your conclusions: Aira’s mix out to EP’s input, and Aira’s midi in to midi in to EP’s midi out. I had to change the internal clock divider on the Roland, but that’s it. What cable do you use to connect the EP-133 to the J-6 via MIDI? I'm having no success connecting the EP-133 to virtually anything else via MIDI except if I use USB. It seems like the cable must be special and I can't find the details to allow me to buy the correct cable somewhere.
@@prcr you need to make sure the midi settings are correct on your J6 and KO… for example, is the midi setting appropriately set for ‘in’ or ‘out’ on each device? You need to go into the device settings for that… it can be a little tricky and there might be more settings than that, but with a little trial and error you will find it. A standard trs cable should work tho
How do you like the EP-133 for sequencing other midi devices like the J-6? Is it as intuitive as it seems? I really love my PO-33 but also want to be able to sequence other midi devices and until just this morning when I saw someone doing that with the EP-133 I had no idea it was capable of doing this, so it might be the missing piece to my setup! You sure seem to have put it to good use, looking forward to hearing what you can do with that E4 as well!
Oh yeah, I’ve seen crazy things been done with midi from the EP. Its sequencer is very rare since it can contain a lot of midi data (and I mean A LOT). It’s able to do this bc you can use the unquantified feature and slow down the tempo. Probably can fit minutes in a single sequence. But, to be fair, I don’t use that feature, so I can’t tell you more than that ahaha

You are totally right on your conclusions:
