@@johnstaf yep, and the machine definitely helps. It’s fun to feel around for the next sound and if you have an ear for it you’ll know exactly when you’ve got it
what seems to be creative about just playing up and down Dm? i mean ur knowledge about music has to be astonishingly poor to believe this is endless imagination... not knocking him...@@johnstaf
Really smart move. I had so many synths before the matriarch, and no Grandmother before really understanding Semi modular format is perfect to learn on and so characterful.
Fuck. My husband just bought me a Grandmother for my bday yesterday (he wins Legend of the Year award IMHO) and I just found this and am dying. So so so insanely good man. Thankyou xx
I haven't stopped watching this over and over, the fact the camera stopped recording is actually kinda beautiful. By then most people are totally lost anyway... It's just you and the arpeggiators floating away, no visuals required. Amazing work Ektar!
I love those moments where you enter in some unusual chord for the arp, and then quickly rush to the controls to change something drastic and shift the tone. It's just that rolling with the mistakes but between the notes being played and the sound of the synth itself, I love it.
I have a grandmother and I have to admit 30% of his sound here is the reverb he is using, it's producing very interesting effects that you don't get close to otherwise
This is so inspiring and informational, just watching you play has taught me a lot about how to use the Moog grandmother. More than any manual ever could haha
gorgeous run, and not only is it SO refreshing to not hear the same pattern repeating endlessly as usual....but also to see a utube vid without a single thumbs down vote! Don't think there's a one anywhere; you deserve it for these sweet 12 minutes, very musical
I just found out today there is a grandmother that isn't being used at the place I live, and that it's at my disposal, so I did a search for what it can do and found this. I am very much looking forward to getting some time in on it this is amazing.
Love it! Thought it was only the spring reverb at first. Love that Vintage verb with this! Your playing is helping me fall in love with my moog grandmother again!
2 days later, I have purchased Grandma and have her next to me - immediately went to the triple octave bass rhythm, it is just too delicious. Thank you for inspiring me to get into synthesis! Lets cruise to outer space yes?
My man, it's been three years, we must have more music from you! I still listen to this on at least a monthly basis.
the longer i watch this video the poorer i get
hahahaha
that is only if you define 'poor' by having money and not having the synth. I'd argue otherwise though.
Hahahaha feel you, bro.
You can be rich with money but poor with everything else.
Poor of the wallet, rich of the soul… heheh.
The changes are seemless, and it never feels like you hear the same thing twice! This is less of a demo of a synth, but more of a demo of a musician.
exactly!!
Agreed. He seems to have endless imagination and inspiration.

@@RobertRodriguez19906 Thanks for your concern about my music education, but I have a degree in Music Theory, so I'll manage.
I actually bought my Grandmother (1st synth) because of this video a year ago. Best decision I've ever made. Thank you so much
why do you call it your grandmother
@@quanathan Because of the special feelings i got for her
Same broo
Really smart move. I had so many synths before the matriarch, and no Grandmother before really understanding Semi modular format is perfect to learn on and so characterful.
That transition in the 7th minute is a thing of beauty!! My Grandmother arrives today, cant wait... Great video, thanks!
My jaw literally hit the floor :o I went back and watched it like 5 times.
that is a sick move fading out the glide. i feel like i learned a lot watching this and will use some of these moves in my own playing :)
Oh man I'm so jealous... the Grandmother is the next synth I'm getting...
At 7:27 my face melted...
Tomi Waselius I know right.
Sexy arp
I kinda love that the camera died because it really ascends into a dreamy listening space after that.
Just always be greatfull for your grandmother and show her that you love her!

This finally made up my mind to buy a Grandmother. There's just no denying that glorious tone.
imagine partying and somebody on stage starts freewheeling like this, beautifull!

I played this in my classroom and the kids loved it. Awesome stuff!
This is why arpeggio is important dealing with truly analogue....thanks Ektar!
What a jam, it's a beauty. Definitely one of the best demos of this or any synth I heard.

which reverb would that be?

Sounds so good, in your hands especially. Juicy arps!
Awesome intrustment - legendary. And beatifully played.
Perfect remedy for my headache! Nothing beats a good Moog.
very well done! this is a really nice performance! I love the Grandmother even more now.
Holy.... I just got mine and have never played keyboard (or synth) and am in over my head but it's so fun and wow this is amazing!!!
Way to rock those arps - and also the filters and envelopes - on this thing. Great work man.
This sounds amazing, fantastic patching, great harmony, you’ve got a beautiful touch 👌
Absolutely a great synth, love the transition around 7 minutes!
This is pure joy... I want one soooo bad! 😭You're like a magician! Thank you for sharing this! 😁
This is "how to sell a synth"
This video is a main reason i bought my Moog Grandmother.
Awesome work!
Still keep coming back to this.
This just convinced me to buy this moog. Thank you for my final inspiration !!!
fantastic performance and sounds
Sounds like heaven
This video sold me a Grandmother. This piece of music is wonderful. I’ve listened to it every day for a week so far.
Me too! Arrives tomorrow!

Stunning!
Beau-ti-ful 👌🏿🇨🇦🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🧓🏿
Fantastic !!!
great camera setup. digging the live sequencing/modulation 😎✌🏽
I love this demo because as a new Grandmother owner I can see exactly what is producing what sound. Great demo!
The glide move @ around 7:00 made me want to fire up the Neutron and accept my Grandmotherless life.
great stuff. thanks.
The best Grandmother video I’ve ever seen
I'm actually saving my money up to buy myself one! what a wicked sound, I can't wait

Wonderful work! :)
Love your videos :)
Once you dive into any Moog....it’s very each to kick other synths off the wish list. Great demo! GM is a Modern Classic!
7th minute onwards was euphoric.
Awesome demo !
such a great performance bro
Just awesome!
My mind is made up!! I have to have it!! Merry Xmas to me!! Ty for that great Illustration!! 👍
Instant sub, this is so damn beautiful
So good! My matriarch is frozen until I finish a song, but this is super inspiring to record some synth jams.
Epic jam! great video quality too
Beautiful
this is soooo sick dude. crushed it.

I'm 5 hours away from my Grandmothernright now and this makes me want to play with it so bad!!! awsome sauce !
issa fire, man!
Was on the fence between a fs ms20 and a grandmother. Very different beasts, but your videos have pushed me towards the grandmother, thank you.
This is an awesome piece of music- I’d love a Grandmother but I’d have sell my Juno 6. Having had it four decades!
PHENOMENAL!

4:30 amazing arp basses !
カメラが途切れた事が逆に最高の演出になったね
