This isn't just a few lads playing with a tank. This is history being made and a documented restoration in full. Phenomenal attention to detail and well done Jack on all the cleaning, polishing and painting. Love this series
As a disabled U.S. Army Abrams mechanic.. I really enjoy watching you guys do your rebuild work. I have to admit to some jealousy over the fact that you all get to do this work, and I can not. Working on Military equipment was something I loved more than anything. Good job on the project so far.

Joe, it's not often that I take iseue with you but you're wrong that Britain isn't still great. It is. It's people like you and your team that make it great. J
Ted is taking direct responsibility for this FV4005 project and it shows in the quality of work on the project. Ted is a safe set of paws on this one. 🐕
So far this looks better than anything the factory standard. As always if in doubt slap a coat of copper anti-seize. Beer and anti-seize are the best inventions.
Water pump pliers make a real tidy job of folding lock tabs, the tab needs a slight lift but then use water pump pliers to get a clean fold. Brilliant work great team love the banter.
Outstanding!!!!! I hope the people at the museum will give all your hard work the recognition you all deserve by maybe having a video of your excellent work posted on a nice flat screen TV next to this vehicle In the museum.
That looks like the best and most difficult Airfix kit ever, i bet you loved laying it out on the floor all painted and awsome looking before assembly. Keep making the movies we all love em!!!
This has been brilliant from the outset. Great to see how much attention to detail has been taken. And trying to do all your other jobs as well..... FAir play lads!
Well done everyone, especially Jack. When the parts were laid out on the ground at the start, I thought it looked a bit like a giant Airfix model minus the plastic frame. Love the attention to detail and effort here. It's already very rewarding and will be brilliant!
You guys got a great payoff in terms of a very smooth reinstall because of top class preparation and layout. Plus you really know your stuff. A pleasure to watch.
I am happy to see that Ted is working and not just supervising. It's also great to see that he is forklift certified, as opposed to an alarming amount of frogs that aren't..
She's very much Jacks baby, you can see his pride in what's been achieved and rightly so! I reckon when you give it back, he'll be down the tank museum every weekend polishing it and shining its nuts!
In 1967 68 i worked for Rolls Royce and built the V12 proto type great engine and nice to see taking care of them . love your vids keep em coming from Canada.
Ready for Tankfest, glad you didn't say which year 😅 All jokes aside, you're all doing a great job and even if we have back to back FV4005 videos it will still be great to watch.
Engine bolts into the water rail, ooo, I do love a slap of ginger grease on the bolts. The one thing NO car programs impress upon, dry bolts into a dry hole, eeeeerrrrrrr………no thankyou! Skills boys , always the little things👍👍👍👍
OOh I missed this yesterday. I was out on Birthday visit looking at Hawkinge museum OK not tanks but they did have an RAF crane which would look good on the farm. Good show and shiney bolts all round!
I was looking forward to this vid. Honestly many folks have zero appreciation of how much work something like this restoration is. I'm hoping all the upcoming work goes smoothly for you, you've approached this with lots of logic and careful consideration of process. More cider for you both I say!
Spectacular work lads. Looks amazing, and looks like grand work. And of course, Ted being there is the crucial thing, keeping an eye on the whole job. I'm sure Bovington will be happy with the Ted Certification.
I’m glad Ted is the one in charge, dunno how you’d manage without him! Proper job in the engine bay👌id hate to work in it as it would be filthy after I’d been work there 😆🤦♂
What a feeling it must be for you guys to assemble such pristine pieces back together for a change! Nary a spot of rust or speck of dirt to be seen. It's already looking fantastic - can't wait to see more of it! You all deserve big, big pints after this job - drinks on Seb!
What a skilled fork lift driver Ted is without his help there could have been alot more swaring and scratch paint work Yet again you have made another great video Thanks lads
Cracking job under the supervision of Ted watching british stuff being brought back to life 👏 as you say no longer great British makers of stuff, brilliant to watch though😊

I said it before and I'll say it again, those that tinker with "old steel" are gold👍
fvck that. ted's the only one doing any real work.
Ted is the best forklift driver i have ever seen
Way better than anyone at amazon 😂
What is Ted paid ?
@@robertstibz9506 Not enough!
How many forklift drivers can do the job, and supervise, while doing the odd search for any itinerant fleas or ticks, with their teeth?

That engine bay is an absolute thing of beauty. I think it is the red linkages that tip the whole build from great to outstanding.

Agreed and not agreed. MOST of Britain is now sh1te, with some gems of greatness like the mr hewes team.
Another great video, but could you lose the “elevator music”, no need for it,thanks.
Well said @bullockjj 👍🏻

Sunday morning with a nice cup of coffee and a Mr Hewes video, life is good!
It’s 4:55 AM in 🇨🇦, and I’m watching some British guy restore a tank 😭
Ask if you can borrow it to deal with Trudeo
So far this looks better than anything the factory standard. As always if in doubt slap a coat of copper anti-seize.

I quite agree, however not necessarily in that order…

He got some jacket on his oil.! 😉 😉 😂
Let the man be! The jacket is iconic
A new one would look like that in a week
His current one is rumoured to have walked out itself 😂

Ah it’s grand seeing Ted pass on his knowledge to you young ones.
Great job guy's and Poo as safety officer all good nice and shiny. Jack has been a busy man.
Engine bay is looking great
Looks like 10 pounds of apparatus stuffed in a 5 pound bag Sir- outstanding work from old Navy mechanic....
The music you used for the timelapse fit really well in my opinion. Keep up the great editing like that, I enjoyed it. Relaxing vibes 👍

The absence of teddy in the 2nd half is because they scratched the new paintwork he’s not happy nice to see Luna great job guys coming together 👍

Oshkosh are used as aviation fuel bowsers in the British army
My son recently left the British Army, he drove the Oshkosh amongst others. Beast.
They all so talented (and Ted) I don't know how they do it. Not a Haynes manual in sight. Brilliant!
What a nice Sunday to wake up to with a fresh brew. That mint engine compartment is a serious eye candy.
that is looking better than it would have when new , well done , keep the good work , and Ted try to keep the boys under control
Clever dual use of engine mounting frames and coolant supply. No long rubber pipes to fail and good use of space.
Looking good ! Ted's gonna need his own UA-cam channel soon ! Best Intro Ever !
