I hated false alarm at first but it really did grow on me overtime as catchy and the music video helped me like it more
Chloe Hassler same here not too bad of a song just don't like the chorus still
Since everyone is talking about how Trilogy and Kiss Land were better because of the darkness he put into them, go watch the interview he did with Zane Lowe two days ago (also his first ever interview) on Beats 1! He explains how and why Starboy is different and why it isn't as dark as Trilogy and Kiss Land. He's a genius and he's got it all planned you guys! loved your reaction too!
Abdul Rahman Kharshoum i actually meant to watch that! thanks for reminding me haha. and thank you for watching man!
I Feel It Coming is the best song off the album.
that's your favorite? I'm still with "attention" and "Ordinary Life" as the best! "I Feel it coming" has definitly grown on me though!
"I need more of that" same reaction. Love Lana.
Love that shirt man 👌🏽
Sinister_Jay_ thank you! i got it from his 2014 king of the fall tour
I don't understand how you can't like Rockin... like bruh. You don't like catchy music you can get up and dance too? Smh. People just ain't getting used to his more pop sound Because they're stuck on his past.
+Julian T not at all i just couldn't get into that track. I can listen to some of his pop tracks. Like i think "a lonely night " was better than that one honestly for like a popish kind of track. Was that your favorite?
DPJ3 I see what you mean. Honestly, I think Sidewalks, Six Feet Under, and Party Monster are the dopest. I just really admire the fact that he's proven he's not one dimensional as an artist. That he can do something outside of what everybody is used too, including himself ya know.
+Julian T yeah but i feel like I know what he's capable of and i know he could easily make those pop kind of songs especially with his voice being so close to mj's but my favorite songs are attention and ordinary life right now.
Julian T yea there is people still stuck in the past but people don't have to like the new shit he is putting out smh😑
Jorge Trejo Fine bruh, you don't have to like his new shit, but then don't get mad if people question whether you're a real fan or just another band wagoner lol. People change, people mature, people start new chapters in their lives, nothing ever stays the same. Let that sink in.
Idk if anyone's already asked this, but where did you get that shirt. Shit is fire!! Did you buy it off his website or somewhere else?
+Haygen Fry yeah a few people asked haha but i got it from the weeknd's king of the fall tour in 2014. I don't think it's on the website or anywhere though man. Sorry.
stargirl 😣😢😭 yesss i needed more...please give me a song!!!!
shaka reyna really wish there was a longer version somewhere. maybe they'll work together again. haha
The old weeknd is gone bro, like it or not
Godd haha yeah i know but he's still capable of making some good music. Just some of these tracks weren't doing it for me! thank you for watching man!
Best songs on the album that I loved: Starboy, Party Monster, Reminder, Secrets(favorite song), True Colors, Sidewalk(loved the autotune), Six Feet Under, Lonely Night (this song is about a women claiming she has his baby), Attention, Ordinary Life(this is the most depressing song on the album it's about him knowing he is going to hell), All I Know, Die for You, I feel it coming
Worst songs on the album: False Alarm(loved the lyrics, love the pre chorus hated the actual chorus), Rockin(it was just iight), Love to lay, and nothing without you
out of a 18 song album i didn't fuck with 4 songs thats 14/18 great album. The thing I really love about this album is that the songs on their grow on you over time. I actually prefer this over both BBTM(Great singles the rest of the album just didnt live up to those singles) and Kissland(Iiked songs on their couldn't listen to the other ones).
Hamze Ahmed nice selections I agree with you for the most part. some of these tracks grew on me and some just still don't do it for me! pretty good album, but I'm still going with kiss land over this one though. haha thank you for watching man!
Hamze Ahmed I LOVED SIDEWALKS
Hamze Ahmed secrets sucks
Rockin' is nice though, give it a few more listens but the honesty in this video is much appreciated man! Good job!
Johao Vilcarino idk it still hasn't grown on me but some of these other tracks have! and thank you man i had to be honest. thank you for watching too!
i like almost every song on the album (i agree on the mainstream part tho) and i disagree with you on lots of songs, but i have to admire the honest reaction. liked!
frozenbee yeah man i mean some of them have grown on me but some haven't! but i get how people could like the songs i don't! everyone's got their opinion haha and of course man honesty is key!
I saw it as a funky kinda retro vibe. Everyone compared him to MJ for so long that he figured he might as well check that sound out? Lol "switch up my cup I take any lane"?? He's proving he's good at so many different styles
parafan1196 yeah it was a different album and i was expected that from him but some of these tracks definitely didn't belong and it would have been better without them.
i feel the same bro, i like Starboy but i miss Trilogy and Kiss land too. they were a lot darker.
+Nitroszx haha for real man. I'll still always try to support him though. That's my boy haha!
DPJ3 same fam, he's the best. XOTWOD
Nitroszx i mean cmon guys he was going trough some stuff he's happy know
Sebastian Gutierrez haha i feel you man and i do like this album and can understand that he's happy now but I really liked how dark and mysterious he was and his music just matched that dark vibe.
Where’d you get the shirt????
Bro where did you get that long sleeve. Sick af
mark Ghoubrial I got it from his 2014 king of the fall tour!
Nothing without you is a such a big tuneeee
That person you thought sounded like Usher, was Sam Smith. Also, I had the same thought when I first heard "Sidewalks", I didn't understand why he used auto-tune.
kids5810 oh really that was sam smith? that's cool! i like him. and yeah i just really don't understand the point of him doing that haha thank you for watching man!
DPJ3 It turns out, according to discogs, it was actually Daniel Wilson not Sam Smith. My bad.
+kids5810 haha nah it's all good! Either way i liked that part!
Autotune is mostly used as an "instrument" these days, with his voice, this instruments sounds so fucking sick. So yeah, people don't use it just because "they have a bad voice" bro..
dylano I would never think the weeknd used because he has a bad voice haha. i just didn't think it wasn't necessary here. I think it would have been better with just his voice. Is sidewalks your favorite track on the album?
DPJ3 nah
Eagle Eye Bird up
Where did you get your shirt from
adele naouli i got it from his 2014 king of the fall tour
where'd you buy your shirt?
VranckxGames i got it from the weeknd's 2014 king of the fall tour
im a fanboy like u man, the songs u disliked i felt the same way except secrets is my fav song on the album but yeah u did a great deep review, but wait for his next album, he is gonna make it all new york inspired. peace and love my man imma sub to u rn. XO
that song actually grew on me! and yeah ill always listen to the weeknd ive been following him since 2011 so why stop now? haha. thank you for watching man!
The Unearthly Daniel P hey daniel thanks for the reply means allot its exciting haha and i was wondering if i could email u my review on the weeknd as a whole of his music and give u sort of a "critic" type of article on the weeknds music and i would want u to give me ur opinion on it since u go in depth with his music like me so what do ya say? can i email it to u
+Ian Claunch sure you can sent it to my twitter messages if you want
so which Abel do u prefer? the weeknd from starboy or trilogy
John Gamez of course I prefer trilogy but i understand that he is trying different thinks as an artist. Just don't want him to get too popish.
i can see why some wouldnt mess wit it, props to you for keeping shit real dawg
+Joey Flenton thank you man. Had to be as honest as possible. I knew people would tear me up for it haha
The Unearthly Daniel P knowing that too and still being honest bruh nothing but respect homie that why i rock wit you
True colors is actually pretty different then the old Weeknd in my opinion this is the first time where we hear him actually sing about actually love and not a just a girl he meet in the club
Juan Reyes haha yes very rare from him on his own albums at least! but i like that song!
Where did you get that long sleeve
Hamza Imtiaz I got it from his King of the Fall tour in 2014.
Really dope shirt
0i personally loved secrets...rockin i liked the vibe. i think sidewalks' autotune was effect - he didnt need it, but it sounds good on the track, so why not. love to lay..idk it sounded good but eh. loved lonely night and all the songs after it
I'm still bumping the Album.
+Sal Tafesse me too man! Me too!
Yanno what, I had very similar thoughts to your first reaction. But the album is extremely diverse and has many styles and sounds to it. I like how The Weeknd kept his same subject matter like women, drugs, and a lot of sex, while also using music that was upbeat and mainstream. I think this album is an important one for him as an artist, will it help him maintain his fame, or did he try too hard to "make" his style work for mainstream attention. We will see, I rather enjoyed this album and think it was a step in the right direction for him. But hey, who am I to say, it's just my opinion. Let me know if you agree/ disagree.
John Torri i agree that this album was very important and he did stick to his subject matter and of course he needs to appeal to certain people to grow as an artist but i know that he could have left some of these tracks out and this album would have been better. I don't think it's complete trash or anything but this was his chance to maybe get a little bit more of his kind of dark and dreartly style of music that he's known for to this point out there to more people since he's got the spotlight. He didn't have to go with some of these popish tracks.
I really liked Rockin'!
I cringed so hard at your reaction to Rockin. For many people its one of the best songs on the album, its pretty clear you dont like 80s pop and prefer he stick to modern trap type beats. Even if you think the lyrics are corny, its an energizing modern twist to Michael Jackson
Marc Cohen it is but idk it just felt like house music to me and i didn't like it. "a lonely night" is much better to me if we're talking about for the mj feel.haha thank you for watching man. Got a favorite track?
(good ) house music is kind of an electronic modern disco. Attention is probably my favorite mix, Rockin is also great. Starboy obviously, but honestly the Feel it Coming track just puts me in a mood, its hard to explain its like the essence 80s love music comes through on that track lmao.
He utilized Daft punks harmonizing talk box a lot and its fucking amazing
Marc Cohen that track and secrets actually ended up growing on me secrets grew on me a little but i full out sing feel it coming now haha (couldn't resist it) but my favorites 2 are attention and ordinary life right now.
Love u bro👌
+Zeeko´s House haha uhh thanks man. Thank you for watching
100 fuken % my same reaction...especially to false alarm...omg your expressions 👽👽👽👽😂🔥💙💛☇
shaka reyna haha what do you mean?
This is probably the most honest review of this album. I'm not going to name drop but there's a few big name reviewers that are huge Weeknd fans, that reviewed this album and put on a show for the views. I just can't imagine myself listening to The Party and The Afterparty then jump to something like False Alarm lol. And good point about the autotune on Sideways. He has too much of a voice and the lyrics were too real for such strong autotune.
Steve Williams haha thank you! i had to be honest man couldn't act like i loved every song and yeah i think its a good song just if he took that autotune off it would have been better especially with those lyrics. thank you for watching man!
Steve Williams
There are also big name reviewers that wouldnt have made any videos if it weren't for The Weeknd lol
u a og weeknd fan if you know what kin kane is.
Nothing without you is so underrated, the fucking vibe man
Misael Perez it really is! i don't get why people didn't like it!
haha i can really tell that you don't like it when the track sounds main streamy. But so nice reaction! thank you for your review
Daniel Ocean haha i sure don't at least not from him! and thank you for watching man!
Ordinary life was my favorite
+Jaymusicfly that's one of my favorites too. I like attention too!
We have the same opinion on nearly every song! Some people can't handle the honesty 🙄
indifferens haha i suppose not! I get that his fans (including me) want to stand by their favorite artists but some people are just blindly saying they like every song on the album.
DPJ3 true
I wouldn't say blindly likes every song. but some people like all types of genre of music and these albums has a mixture of all types.
Beats beauty behind the madness for sure and I liked the auto tune on sidewalks y'all just hate cause it's different haha
HooliganPlays haha why man? it was just so pointless! His regular voice would have been so much better!
The weeknd is tryna make that money! He's a pop star whether u like it or not
Dalton Manley haha i know he's tryna get that money! and i can understand that he has to make music that gets him out of that dark meloncoly sound to get there and i still like his music just couldn't get down with some of these tracks!
DPJ3 I feel you on that!!! But you can't expect him to continuously put out the same shit, you know? He even said in the first song star boy "switch my style up, I take any lane". That was a heads up for how the album was gonna be.
Dalton Manley yeah i feel you and of course i want him to switch it up and evolve but i just couldn't relate to some of these song like "love to lay" i just feel like it immediately made me feel like it was on some get on the radio jason derulo stuff. but i love the weeknd man and I'd never hate on him just to hate. I just had to be honest with this review!
People who expect an extension of Trilogy on each album he puts out will always be disappointed just because his music is popular does not mean he's uninspired he's simply evolved to a different sound the weeknd has more range then too just put out Trilogy pt 2, I respect your review I just wish certain fans don't go in with the expectation of hearing the same thing I personally loved Starboy think it was his most mature album artistically by far and if we count trilogy as one album I think it's the only other album in his catalog that rivals it, 2 very different sounds I still think executed very well.
faruhk ayala of course I want him to evolve and to try different sounds however I just don't like how on some of these tracks like "love to lay" he seemed to want to pander to the people that want to hear the more pop sound from him, which isn't a problem but I'm just not one of those people haha. and i am a huge fan like i said just think it would have been better had he excluded some of these tracks. Thank you for watching man!
DPJ3 definitely get your point of view and respect your opinion and honesty your claims weren't unfounded and it's all preference, keep up the reviews man
I thought this album was good and I understand what the weeknd was doing with this album trying to make a sound for everyone by having mix of genres
HooliganPlays i liked the album and i get that he was trying to appeal to different audiences but i just didn't like some of the songs he was using to do so haha especially as a long time fan
Daniels like that one awkward friend you have
Lol yes that would be how my friends describe me most likely.
Rockin is fucking hot man
Six feet under is my favorite track
Mills Dylan that's the stripper anthum haha!
I feel like False Alarm would've sounded better without the "hey hey hey hey" part and instead just had the guitar playing...then it would've sounded better💯💯
But I love The Weeknd and he's my favorite artist 🔥💯🔥💯
TheKidd you're probably right but we'll never know! haha but yes the weeknd is one of my favorite artist too! been following him for a long time.
i liked the whole album tbh but thats probably my biased opinion 😂 loved your reaction man..
+KVSH i had to fight my biasness so bad on this one lol had to be honest man! Thank you for watching!
No prob man

Die for you is my fav!
One of my favs off the album as well!!!
So tell me what your thoughts on this album now?!?!
Conor Mcgregor A few tracks like "secrets" and "feel it coming " grew on me but i still don't like "love to lay" and "rockin" as much. I think he could have benefited from cutting some of these tracks out for sure! I still thought it was a solid album though. Made my top 5 r&b albums of 2016! How about you?
subscribed.
John Gamez thank you man.
Listen to Schoolboy Q - Blank Face LP please! Basically my favorite album of all time!
+zock rydor i actually was going to but never got around to it but ive heard it now haha. I liked it. I think it's schoolboy Qs best album to date
DPJ3 Damn. I think so too. In that case react to Still Brazy by YG.
zock rydor damn man i heard that too! haha I might do red friday not sure if i want to yet. i don't have a lot of time because of school so Im just gonna be doing the essentials like the gambino album is most likely next
DPJ3 Good. Can't wait man. Do Red Friday for sure.
hey man react to bruno mars 2 album _ unorthodox jukebox / 24k magic new album

nao escutou direito, volta la escuta denovo
Vinicius A Que¿
Musicly?????
nice video
exequiel sosa thank you!
Grow your hair like the weeknd
So kiss land 2.0 is for when??
Jamie Seguin he actually did say that's the only album he'd make a sequel to in that Apple one interview.
ik I seen that I hope he does because to me kiss land was his best
Charles Armstrong definitely my favorite out of his three albums. (not counting trilogy)
You expressed my EXACT thoughts, to a T. We have the same opinions, we both love The Weeknd, please marry me.
Mirto D haha uhh i don't think my girlfriend would be too fond of me marrying a dog. Thank you for watching though!
"People want my old shit? Buy my old album"
Sad that people don't recognize the massive Off The Wall influence here and how brilliant it is that he's trojan-horsed his way into pop radio while still talking about drugs, sex and death all over. Oh well... people catch up eventually, look at 808s & Heartbreaks.
X Gasm iight jay-z! i understand that an artist has to evolve and make different music and I'm all for it but i just didn't like that he was making certain songs that were clearly to appeal to the mainstream you feel me? and i understand that he's gotten on the radio talking about sex and drugs and he's influenced my mj clearly but he's also got more to offer and he just didn't show it like i expected on this album. Thank you for watching though man!
I actually like secrets and love to lay, I get what your saying though, it's different for him . Rocking is pretty bad tho . Fav song is "die for you"
Brenxo secrets grew on me a little but i still can't get into love to lay haha haven't really picked a favorite yet but it would probably be attention or ordinary life right now. thanks for watching man!
DPJ3 np, good review
you look a lil like 21 savage lol but dope vid g 👌🏼
Rʜʏτʜʍ lol i don't think i look like that fool but you're the second person to day that haha. and thank you man. i appreciate it.
XO ⚡✝⚡
You disliked the best song on the album? "I feel it coming" was your least fav? Ok then...
+Spy to tell the truth I'm just such a fan of his original stuff, so hearing the popish feel was a shock to me and i didn't like it at first, but some of these tracks have definitely grown on me.
I do prefer his older sound also. I have recently just immersed myself in trilogy and it's like an outer body experience. There really will never be anything like that album again and I know he is moving away from that sound, so I have no expectations for a trilogy rebirth. So when I listen to his new music, I consider them in isolation instead of comparing them to his older work - that's the only way to truly appreciate and be fair to his new work. I also have a slight bias to "I feel it coming" because I'm a huuuuge MJ fan and I instantly had an emotional reaction to it's MJ sound. Starboy is excellent for easy, continuous listening- it really does grow on you. Apart from "I feel it coming", I love 'stargirl interlude' and 'nothing without you'.
Finally someone who doesn't pretend this album is good lol even the dark songs feel pop and structured
Luck don't get me wrong I liked the album just didn't like some of these songs. just didnt belong on here at all!
DPJ3 Yes the song "Often" significated in French "Souvent " and I think this one of the best song of TheWeeknd ;)
In this album I love all songs (just not really "A lonely Night).
;)
IagoPrévost Composition really that's surprising. why not "a lonely night?"
DPJ3 I don't have the same vibes with Lonely Night as all the songs.
:)
Lol nice dance funnnny
I thought this album could have been better if he took out a few tracks
Ty Jaks My exact thoughts man. Some of these tracks just didn't belong on here.
Ty Jaks he is trying new things if it's not for you don't hear it hear the other bad ass songs he has, he trying to attract other people to come on his shit.
Did he just Said "Lightskin" ? 14:20? 😂😂
Jack Bourne hahaha nah i was trying to say "nice little" but damn i should have said light skinned...Opportunity missed
party monster not party animal anyways XO'TWOD #KISSLANDMATTERS
Abel tesfaye i said party animal by mistake? and yamp! that's still my favorite!!
DPJ3 same best one for me
"Is that Usher?" lololol
WHY DO YOU HATE ROCKIN' SO MUCH?? :'(
+Rebecca Rocha Truly thought that was usher for a quick second haha!
+Rebecca Rocha It's just not good to me! I still can't get into it.
I can't help but dance to it every time I hear it!
Rockin is a good song bruh
+Gabriel Rivera just didn't sit well with ya boy at first. But i can say it's grown on me a little bit. Still not the best song to me though.
The Unearthly Daniel P True its not the best but it aint bad either
i fw u
childish gambino _ awaken my love
mark fares I reviewed that last week! check my videos!
BBTM was his best album imo, kissland has some tracks that didn't belong
pureknightxs really? I haven't heard that before. Why do you feel like that's his best? kiss land is his most cohesive album to me. i feel like kiss land was it's on world which was cool to me.
I think if you look at BBTM holistically it is a better album. The reason why i think it didn't get the praise it should have was because we had already heard some of the tracks previously I.E the hills, earned it, often and prisoner. Because of this we couldn't fully appreciate the album. Whereas in kissland the whole album was essentially unheard previously. However i will say that some tracks on kissland are his best work like professional and tears in the rain.
Good Album, not as good as Trilogy and Kiss Land.. Don't understand the autotune on SideWalks, False Alarm too "crazy", Future ruined All i Know.. Except that, Starboy is dope
UnDani 6 Definitely man this album isnt bad. I like it but it's just not better than his other albums at least to me and definitely not better than trilogy that's why i didn't even put it in the poll haha
XO
ich pich you already know!
And you call yourselves fans lol
Artists grow and try new things. Who are you to tell him what type of music to make ?
Overall this was a great new sound for The Weeknd! Good album, bad reaction/review. Would've been much better if you were more open minded.
+Bryan Diaz i am very open minded and i get that artist try new things but i made it a point that wasn't going to come on here and act like i like every track and unfortunately i didn't. That doesn't mean i didn't like some tracks or that i don't like the album because i did. I'm still always going to support the weeknd ive been around since 2011. I ain't going nowhere haha. Thank you for watching man!
ciringy to watch
Fiiilll3 how

"You only looking for attention"
John Torri omg is that you fav track?
*your
Nope, The one you hated the most is my fav, "I Feel It Coming"
John Torri I wouldn't say i hated that song the most on the album that is the worst single of the 4 he dropped but one of the better mainstream sounding songs on the album to me!
Stubborn
Justin Brantley far from it
you're so awkward 😂
+Elibur Zenos lol this must be the first video of me you've watched! Forewarning.....it doesn't get better.
This dude probobly be liking some turn up music and some wack as lil yatchy shit , Mr. Im a Weeknd fan Gtfo😂
A1ex Terron Stop that alex. i don't listen to that yatchy bs! haha
lol it looks like you hate every song haha
Jose Martinez when that good beat hits your soul sometimes it makes you get that stank face! lol
