I don't think a lot of people HATE the album, it's just his worst for many people (myself included). I absolutely love when he knits a story of some sort within his albums, most notably Kiss Land and more recently After Hours, but Starboy just didn't have that. I like the album a lot for sure, it's just at the bottom for me.
This was that “ I’m that nigga” The Weeknd album not the sad one😂people need to appreciate when he’s feeling himself

They don't like Starboy cause it's way to Light and not edgy, but personally I like this album very much. Artist just can't be stuck with one sound for the rest of their careers anyways of course they will experiment at some point.

Fuckin LOVE Sidewalks. He didn't need the Auto tune but yes it's a good comparison on Tell Your Friends. The "they don't let me down" post hook is Daniel Wilson. KDot did the damn thing of course. Miss that man.
Die For You is a favorite for most fans (me included) of the album or ppl who "tolerate" the album.
I knew I'd get a lil body roll from you on True Colors. It's true roots R&B vibes with his sound. That's a slow dance track at the house when you're getting to know someone and hanging with them for the first couple times.

Party Monster is a vibe. Love this beat. (I lol'd at "it didn't") the video is a trip too. That was Lana Del Rey vocals in the background at the end I believe. You have pretty "that beat nasty" faces. Yes, that was the stripper reference.

This album opened more of genre in music, Been a fan before he was named The Weeknd (If you know, then you’re an actual fan lol) I drove for 3 hours listening to this album and the whole time I literally thought I was in a different planet, I’m pretty sure Abel produce this album to get his 70/ funk vibe out there for people to feel great on their day. Album is in my Top 4
I was typing the sample for Secrets when you looked it up. I love it tho. They play the original at work. I sing Abel's version over it lol. The bridge is my favorite too.

@@KimBTV i promise you it is amazing. Keep in mind real quick, after starboy the weeknd had a whole nother album finished but did not release it because he went thru the break up with selena gomez. He said we might never get that album and instead he created MDM. The 1st song Call out My Name is entirely about Selena. Cant wait for you to hear it! Trust me it is powerful!
Honestly I think this was taking so harshly cuz it was more of his pop bag. Die for you gotta be my favorite track. Also this was the first album he really was on some lovey dovey shit because Abel usually toxic lol. So I think it caught ppl off guard.

Not everyone hates this album it’s just some people who notice an artist is changing or trying new sounds they immediately hate it tho there are some artist that try new sound and the music lacks from it but every album ep or mixtape Abel’s released has not disappointed or lacked in talent

Die For You is the setup for the end of After Hourssssss, MDM completes the setup.
BBTM is ranked last for me, get hits but other than the hits its not as good as the others.

Starboy is the stunting track lol. My boy was flossing on this album. Kept the drugs in tho. Cut the White into lines, and make them disappear! Coke life. He also referenced the og groups of r&b he listens to and that gave me hope that he'd touch on that vibe. He did.

If you liked six feet under, listen to Low Life by future ft. the weeknd. Its just a single from future but its basically just a better version of six feet under IMO. It also has a couple of the same flows and bars placed right after a chorus so it's very obviously a part 2.

Rockin is 90s or early 00s MJ Invincible vibes for me a bit. I used to get dressed to this one.
This album was the first one I've heard from him but still not my fav.However I do revisit for some bangers every now and then.

6 Feet Under is the stripper track or even just a Hustler's track to an extent. Everything I'm typing, you're saying, and I ain't mad lol. Future made it to two tracks on here and Abel is on two of Future's tracks, Low Life and Coming Out Strong.
The beat for All I Know is my favorite part of the track and Abel's vocals. Future is.... Well he did what he does, which is basically compliments the beat lol. #wentandboughttiddays

@@KimBTV Definitely. Anyone who is as musically creative and capable as Weeknd is, with the life he’s had, should be expected to have a diverse catalog sonically. I think it hard for people to appreciate that growth. None of us would be making the same music at 20 as we would at 30. And if we were, we wouldn’t be at the level he is. Like people don’t have to like it, but the utter trashing of him over this album is so wild. So is the backlash for Dawn FM. It might not be someone’s favorite sound from him, but the musicality, the creativeness, and the willingness to put out what he wants despite the risk, should be admired in an artist. While I am here, I wanted to tell you how much I really enjoyed your journey with him. I just binged everything and it was awesome. Thank you! 🖤

Well I think its true this has to be the worst album by Abel, but its still great with many classics and in my opinion not one bad track. I feel like its heavily overhated
Yeah I honestly thought it was gonna be pretty bad based on what I had heard about it...but I was surprised by the all the good solid songs.
@@KimBTV this album was definitely full of party music and it serves it's purpose for that. He executed everything really well, so yeah it is a really good album. The "hate" mostly comes from those who prefer his previous style of music (myself included) lol. Not saying this is bad, but just prefer his dark, earie and atmosphere sound from the mixtape era
