Feeding Rituals to Prevent Food Aggression!

- It is important to have feeding rituals with your dogs. This can help prevent food aggression down the road! Don't just toss them the food and leave! Practice doing a variety of things when you feed them and make sure they know that you give the food and you can take it away. This can help prevent food aggression and various types of resource guarding.
If you start this when your puppy is young they will grow into adult dogs that will easily let you handle their food. Don't make the mistake of trying this once or twice when your dog is young and then assuming they will stay good forever. Create a series of feeding rituals and keep them up life long with your dogs!
W Dog Owner And Gives Awesome Tips
Thanks for watching!
After feeding how do you get them to lay down and stay. Not poking he's head up at my plate begging. Even when hes full.
I can't go out to eat becouse of it. He's certified for my disability in my wheelchair. And great he's a lg Golden Retriever I fix he's food and sit beside him while he eats
But he's nose is aways there
wanting what I'm eating. Help
This is an awesome tip on feeding. Love that you spend time with them when they are eating. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Is putting the food by your feet intentional?
Great question! We often practice having them eat very close to our feet to make sure they are comfortable eating while that close to a human.
Great stuff. The egg they get is it raw or you boil it? Lots of conflicting info on this. Thank you.
We feed raw eggs, but there is definitely a lot of conflicting info on this topic. Dogs are able to eat raw meat and eggs and their stomachs are able to handle it. Notice that some of the most outspoken critics of feeding dogs raw eggs or meat happen to be the people selling processed kibble 🤷♂️
That being said, nothing wrong with cooking them first to lower the chances of someone getting sick.
@@SuburbanK9DogTraining 👍 agree. Thanks a million for the fast response. You guys rock.
Hey can you make a video about teaching your dog how to heal and to come when called my one year old chocolate lab loves to run we live in the country so she gets a lot of exercise we have a big also but when we open up the fence she runs out and doesn't come till the 50th call she comes to you when you call her inside the fence but when she goes outside the fence it's a whole different story so if you can make a video about that and to teach your dog how to heel that would be great.
Here are a couple videos that will help out! This video shows how to teach a dog to heel. ua-cam.com/video/DdeHrc4pCmA/v-deo.html
Here is a video showing how to solve issues with the come command. ua-cam.com/video/P-xi6hYhtug/v-deo.html
You may want to consider e collar training as well. Here is a video showing how to acclimate a dog to the vibration on an e collar. The vibration is not a correction or threat, it is just a pager. ua-cam.com/video/1xnBM47shVA/v-deo.html
