  • The 2023 Nissan Rogue has a few sensor-related issues, including a faulty automatic emergency braking (AEB) system and a malfunction indicator light:
AEB system The AEB system uses radar modules to detect obstacles in front of the vehicle and apply the brakes automatically if needed. However, some say the system is prone to false positives, causing the car to stop suddenly and unnecessarily. The system may also deactivate itself frequently, and a warning message may appear on the dashboard that says "front radar unavailable due to obstruction". This can make the AEB system and cruise control unavailable. As of May 2024, more than 1,500 complaints have been filed about AEB malfunctions, and the system has been linked to about 14 crashes and 5 injuries.

Thank you for posting. I am on my second Sentra with the same issue. First a 2021 SV and now a 2023 SR. First 400 miles the Malfunction light came on the 23, within the same week the collision senor light came on. It will be my last Nissan. If your car is experiencing this issue, please be very careful when out driving. Especially on the freeway.

Hey, thanks for the post. I have the same model and it’s also in the shop for the sensors randomly going off, that’s both front and rear sensors. Simply backing up into my driveway and the brakes jam on because the sensor thought I was about to hit something when there wasn’t anything behind me. This occasion is only one of many but the first that the brakes have been jammed on by the vehicle itself, talk about scary.

Contact nissan consumer affairs and file a complaint. The Rogue we have finally got approval to get 2 modules replaced. We are going to take it for a drive to where it started having problems. The tech that was sent from the factory told us. That if the car does the same thing again. To file a complaint with the better business bureau and then nissan will have to buy the car back. Our car has been in the shop 6 times. We bought it brand new. Good luck. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the oil

Hi Bill! Thank you for the video. I have the same vehicle. Had to have engine replacement sensors replacement, and only 30360 miles and still having issues with my vehicle… 😤This is a piece of junk car. I was told by Nissan manufactures was not in a position to buy the car back 🤦🏽‍♀️
