Do you and your husband swing at all? If so I'll send pics of my wife and I.. I'm a solid 7...shes an 8.... neither overweight or missing teeth or less than 4 feet tall.. hehe. She's white, I'm half white half black. Both mid to late 30's.. She's a maker like you and I recently changed careers to gold mining. Boycott Ravelry for saying that Trump supporters are white supremacists. That is stupid and a sweeping generalization of a group of people. What's next the Jews are to blame for everything? That was done before in 20th century Germany. I didn't vote for Trump but I never labeled his supporters as all of them being bigots. The actual bigots are Ravery and other biased internet places that assign guilt by association.

Thank you for making this video. All of the tips you have provided are helpful and informative for new members. I had to figure all of this out for myself over time and am not tech savvy !
I have been a member of Ravelry since the beginning and have no plans to leave. This recent announcement is not a surprise to those of us who have watched it unfold. Ravelry is a private business and they have a right to make their own rules. The 2008 problem in one of the groups, and the ensuing visit from the FBI was a watershed moment for the owners. Free speech is one thing, threatening to assassinate a sitting President of the US is a crime. This was not a knee jerk reaction, and they worked swiftly to mitigate the situation.

love ravelry too, was wondering how to organize my favorites and patterns in my library into the same categories such as socks patterns and cowls, etc.?
Hi I'm looking for a pattern to knit a vest (not cable stitch) using 14 point merino wool. Can anyone help?
What are the alternatives to Ravelry?? Asking for a friend.
Ravelry serves two purposes. It is a database that contains a listing of all patterns available out there (but not the actual pattern). And it is a place where designers can sell their patterns, whereby the pattern resides on Ravelry. Personally I do not sell any patterns on there; however, given I am a designer my patterns are listed in their database. With this in mind, it depends upon what you use Ravelry for. Most designers, like me, have their own patterns on their own website - and I offer mine for free. Other designers sell through their website, or sell through Etsy. As far as the database function, I am unaware of any other site like Ravelry that does the very specific searching/categorizing/etc. for knitting and crochet patterns.

You can also sell your pdf patterns on Ravelry :) That's great. The only drawback is you may only use PayPal for receiving your money when selling your patterns. That made me really sad :( PayPal doesn't work in many countries including mine! :(

It's yarn people! Not the end of the world. Ravelry has become self important and too big for their britches. Sure, I've enjoyed the service Ravelry provides but i can get friendly, knowledgeable advice for yarn and pattern choice from my local yarn shop. And.... they'd be overjoyed to help you plus there are always other women there sharing and talking. A true social medium in the REAL WORLD WITH REAL PEOPLE, NOT AVATARS!

I used to love Ravelry. Now, I just go to it for the patterns. And ideas. It is a bloated, confusing and complex mess. It's not fun to use. Takes itself very seriously. Always loved your patterns, Naztazia.

So sad to see Ravelry’s new rule, coming from a group that prides themselves in diversity and inclusivity. I will delete my membership as soon as I can download all of my paid patterns.
@@PersonalStash420 Hello, Ellis K… My conscience won’t let me stay. I deleted my account last evening after downloading the rest of my patterns. I don’t engage in into political discussions on line because (1) I don’t want to and (2) I respect people’s varying thoughts and opinions and (3) not to mention that the discussion often turns ugly, which is NOT what I want on any craft site. But to see how they are treating many of their members who have not done anything wrong? I can’t sit by and let them count my membership as a number in their enrollment. Anyway, it’s just how I feel and I understand why some people would stay and put up with it. I just can’t though. Wishing everyone peace & healing!!!

I have plenty of free patterns to make knit and crochet hats on my channel. If you want to write a message on the hat, you can use floss or yarn to embroider letters using the chain stitch. Or you can use the technique of surface crochet to chain-stitch a message. You can also cross stitch letters onto the hat.
