If you are reading this review and considering this book, you likely fall into one of two camps:
    1. Decided (for Christ, according to His terms as stated in the Bible, His love letter to all of humankind, which has stood the test of time)
    2. Undecided, unwilling, unaware of the reality of the need to be
President Abraham Lincoln spoke this truth perfectly as he faced the unenviable and unparalleled challenge, then or since, of holding the United States together during the Civil War: "Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right."
We hopelessly fill our God-shaped holes with anything but the remedy. (Admittedly it's stacked when we are created to be filled only with Him, as desperately long as our substitute lists can be.) Our Creator God, all love but all justice, has specific terms of reconciliation. To recognize our inherent sin nature and admit that we cannot pay the price on our own through some odd balancing act of good vs. bad works requires humility and submission on the part of each individual. To recognize that we are not "little gods" in and of ourselves and that we cannot, will not be allowed to create a world without Him is the beginning of real wisdom. Though we are given free will, we are not given free passes from the consequences of going our own way.
Because of today's world headlines, the wise are asking and answering questions that have been procrastinated for decades. For those who believe we are in another cycle of "normality" from which we will bounce back, consider this truth from a personal favorite: "For the skeptics out there who might think this is nothing but hyperbole, ask yourself this one question: does the government have more or less control over your lives than it did five, ten, or fifteen years ago?" And I would add, do you think this will change or lessen anytime soon?
The above issues are ones that the main character, like each of us, grapples in the hours before and after the 2nd most world-changing miracle of all time...the Rapture of the Church, second only to the Resurrection of Christ. Told through her eyes, the story cannot be put down. If you're like me, every emotion known will course through you as you get to know her and the others who, warts and all, have interacted with her, sharing their lives, hopes, dreams, and courageously, the TRUTH--faithfully, regardless of the reaction. When she discovers and faces the results of her own choice, she enters an unspeakable reality that no one should choose to go through.
We embrace cures for cancer. We reject cures for sin. But sin is the cancer that will not only cripple us in THIS life but render us miserable for eternity if not dealt with by the only Remedy (John 14: 6). Truth IS. It's not relative. We either embrace it or reject it, but once this event comes to pass, there's no going back.
In conclusion, be encouraged to assess yourself, because we are certainly being assessed by our upcoming Judge, the One who walked in our shoes nearly 2,000 years ago and is due imminently for a triumphant return. Nothing more needs to happen for Him to follow what Scripture easily lays out regarding the world as we know it and as it is becoming. Do the simple math...2,000 years from Adam to Abraham, 2,000 from Abraham to Jesus, and 2,000 from Jesus to the present. 6,000 reflects six millenniums of imperfect human rule, but the upcoming Millennial Kingdom will add 1,000 for a perfect seven. Post MK...it's going to be "beyond-belief awesome"! (The MK will be awesome enough by comparison to 2022.)
If you are #1 above, then please take the time to share this wonderful book near and far now...and have copies ready in your homes, glove compartments, and elsewhere as a resource for those who won't listen now, but will wish they had. And if you are #2, the door to the Ark is currently open, but as archaeologists have discovered in the explorations on Mount Ararat when the government of Turkey is favorable, the Ark door's opening has an expiration date. How gracious is our God to have allowed science to prove so much of what previously was dismissed due to lack of knowledge. It's never been an issue of science vs. faith. It's always been an issue of rebellion vs. relinquishment. Please don't remain "untaken."
Well done, C.O. Wyler! Thank you for your labor of love that cares enough to tell the truth.
