  • Hey!
    Here it is.
SOL means sun, of which we have very little here up north for half a year.
There’s a lot of great music coming out of Scandinavia and I’ve always thought this might
have something to do with how truly dark it gets during the Autumn and Winter.
There’s nothing else to do, but to sit at home creating music, longing for summer and sun.
I wanted to bottle this nostalgia in pedal form, and what’s a better choice for that than a fuzz vibe?
SOL brings the sunlight back where there is none. Fully independent channels for a high dynamic range fuzz
and a beautifully overpowered uni-vibe type chorus/phaser. Enjoy!

These videos are wonderful, Daniel, and your song choices are always so perfect... Make it Rain, an absolute killer... Neil Young's Dead Man on the Loke video. Your work is a delight, the pedals a marvel - thank you.

Incredible sound this Sol, Daniel :-)!!! Palf is for 'Pédales à la française' meaning 'Pedals the french way' 🙂. Odin and Hedda on their way to me in the meantime 🙂

I reckon Jimi Hendrix would have enjoyed messing about with that pedal

How does the fuzz side of the Sol fit within your range of Fuzz pedals? Is it closely related to anything else or is it a unique circuit for this pedal? Also, will there be a UK distributor or is it great to use PALF? Thanks!

Hey! This was a collaboration between me and Palf mostly, so they're the only dealer in Europe. They're great though. You'll have no issues!
The fuzz sits in between HEDDA and BERSERK. Louder than HEDDA, not as bright as BERSERK. It has really wide dynamic range. I used it for a show this weekend through a full stack JCM800 and it had just all the sounds. All of them. Very fun!

For me palf means « pédales à la française »: pedals the French Way 😉

Great pedal and great clean sound aswell. Is it a strat into a tweed amp? A bassman perhaps?

Thanks, and yea kind of. It’s a vintage 1957 Fender Musicmaster into a Strymon Iridium on the Marshall Plexi setting!

Hey! Bravo !!! I would like to know if it's the fuzz that enters into the vibe or the vibe first? from my ears I would say the fuzz first...

@@FjordFuzz I prefer Vibe -> Fuzz like Robin Trower! Maybe you can make it switchable in a further version.

      Fair enough!
      Here's a few reasons I didn't:
I could use a 4PDT toggle switch, but I really don't trust their mechanical integrity.
I could use a 6PDT push button, but they take up too much room. I could use relays, but these also do take up a bunch of room and I would've had to use microcontrollers to swap their states so you didn't have to switch the order every time you powered up your pedal board and microcontrollers are usually quite noisy when found on the same board as such a demanding fuzz as this one features.
Internal DIP switches or toggle switches could've been a decent option, but it would force you to undo the back panel every time you wanted to change them.
If I do something similar in the future, I would probably solve all of this with an auto-bypasses breakout send and return jack input, so you could restructure everything using just cable. It's not super elegant, but it certainly allows for perfect flexibility in terms of modularity!
      Thanks!
