In 2008 Jennifer Townley (1983, NL) completed her degree in Artscience at the Royal Academy of Fine Art in The Hague (NL). Since then she has been working as an independent artist, creating mechanical sculptures that often move very slowly. Powered by electric motors her machines generate intense repetitive movements and changing patterns that subtly interfere with the spectators mind. Shapes are constantly being distorted and transformed, patterns convert smoothly into new patterns and independent forms seemingly unite. Within kinetic art her work can be distinguished by a smooth and peaceful operation and detailed finish and appearance.
We spend most of our lives trying to know what energy is. The sculptures here are a testament to the fact that here is an underlying process, we can know more about our states of mind. Human Bing is a really ingenious creature. Some of the sculptures managed to mesmerize me, engulf me. I almost believed for a second or so that we could really get to the underlying process on how a creature might function. This is Art!!! Props for the selection of music, really brought it home.
Some serious maths and mechanical precision went into designing these beautiful things. Mesmerising!
❤ nice video thanks
Aesthetic math. Love your work.
personally i'm not a fan of the aesthetic - the world's worst ever crowshit welding totally ticks me off. i can weld better than that crp
The edits are so original and beautiful as well
when I heard this music, my first thought was The Goosebumps series opening
I think that one titled "lift" at 7:54 might be taken as a metaphor for global geopolitics
Clever, beautiful and useless. That is art.
Bingo! You resolviste nuestro rompecabezas
@@StudioU7 I solved your puzzle?
There was no sarcasm in my original post. It really is beautiful and clever.
it is not useless i feel. It is manipulative. It is arousing
Sure, you are right!
Perfecto!
Constant shifting center of mass rotor
