the scallops are to help barrel dissipate heat better. Its also nice to see kimber went back to the external extractor great gun and great review. thanks
I think it would be great if someone made a 1911 striker fired but still retaining the 1911 trigger to make it shorter, with a polymer frame to make it lighter as well as soaking up recoil better than what metal does. And make it as thin with the same size & weight of a P365XL. Am I asking too much?
If some did all you asked for, it wouldn't be a 1911. What your really asking for is a Stryker fire with a good trigger. I haven't seen one yet. That's why I carry a Sig P938 or the Kimber kds9c.😂
My gun simply does not work. It fails to feed more than 50% of the time. Each magazine fails. Different types of ammo fail. Total waste of $1,700. And now I have to take off work to ship it back to Kimber to see if they can make it work. Significant inconvenience on top of total disappointment. $1,700 for a nonfunctioning gun is easily the worst firearm of my life. I would not buy this again if I could do it over.
Glad to see it doesn't include the ugly rail like so many are doing now. No use for a bayonet on my pistol.
Uh no need for bayonet but a light is practical
I bought one after your review and it is a beautiful gun and runs flawlessly. Love this gun and got 2 spare mags and grips from Kimber to boot!

Great review Alan! Thank you!
Great Stuff 💯 Thank you Allen 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
I bought the KDS9c and love it. Not my 1st 1911 style, but my first Kimber!
Let's be honest... we actually want this gun with a 20 rounds capacity, 5" barrel and pic rail.
Love this firearm. Great review
I have over 1000 rnds through mine. The rear sight is not adjustable for windage and the adjustment on the trigger is for overtravel only.
I like it.
Very nice 👍
That's awesome 👍
I wonder if Kimber will make some 10 round mags for us in the commie state? Or if maybe they are a standard magazine
from say a hi-power or a cz 75.
Why would you want a double stack 9mm 1911 that only holds 10?
@@jadslash Because then you can get magazines for it in other states. :)
@@JP1AO ooooohh, hopefully the mag ban strike down takes effect soon
Jam!
strawberry or grape?

Hudson made a striker fire 1911, the H9. They were out of business before the P365 really took off tho.
@@troyspurling1910and Daniel Defense bought the rights to the H9 and just revived it.

Well, if Kimber can’t be bothered to provide an ambi safety, then I can’t be bothered with Kimber.
Thumbs up as always for Allen.
I believe the safety is reversable

Mine is at kimber with the same issues. Did you send yours in?
