You have to be fnn kidding me. Shooting in a warehouse with a tiny bullet trap and no good back stop is a recipe for a disaster. Ever had a ricochet from a 22? I have and I was shooting at a gravel pit when a 22 cal got me in the shin. Granted it was basicly just a piece of shrapnel but still. These two geniuses would be fired immediately if I was the boss.

I would already have the M&P15-22 pistol to go along with my rifle version of they would just put a removable buffer tube on it. I can't figure out why they feel the need to mold it as one piece.
@@johnm1004 300 blk is heavier and spends more time in the barrel as a result. The 5.56 will shoot fine but the blast from the unburned powder makes it unpleasant to shoot. The 5.56 also needs speed to work and the short barrel doesn’t give it. This can cause a lack of expansion with anything but soft points. Check out some videos of people shooting them at night. The fireballs are massive. 🤣
I’ve got a 12.5 IWI pistol and the blast is pretty crazy on it. 7.5 is insane in 556 really. Definitely not ideal for 556. Agreed 300 would be a better round for it.
To add to what corey said, the .300blk is optimized for shorter barrels and besides unburnt powder making shooting 556 unpleasant in a shorter pistol or sbr length barrel , the .300BLK I believe is engineered for CQB situations. The ability to use heavier subsonic 30cal rounds is ideal for that sort of... wet work 😬😵

This 5.56 pistol might have sold better many years ago & still probably will today because of all the new shooters buying everything. You gotta have multiple caliber offerings nowadays in my opinion. The 5.56 round wasn’t designed for a barrel that short but they are still fun to shoot. I just think it’s redundant that S&W would come out with this pistol instead of a 7.5’ 300 Blackout or a 7.62x39 AR pistol in 2021. The market is flooded with 5.56 pistols & since your late to the party try something different then what everybody else is doing.
He said it's chambered in 5.56 not 223. Which means you can shoot both. If it was just chambered in 223 you would not be able to shoot both. I'm more than sure that's what he meant.
Is the “Thumb Assist” worth having anymore? No other Riffle, Shotgun or hand gun has a thumb assist. Shove or force Cartridges into the breech just to get stuck from forcing in the cartridge. I don’t know but I don’t think it’s a good practice to force assist any cartridge into a breach… It either works or it doesn’t, I understand how this came about from the Vietnam era M-16 jamming and getting fouled up. Then someone got the bright idea let’s just ram the cartridge into the breach so you can force a shot off just to jam up the gun and a stuck cartridge in the breech. It seems like the guns that don’t have the thumb assists figured it out. the tolerances aren’t too tight and the rounds cycle without issues. It seems like if the gun has a thumb assist then you’re going to have tight tolerances and feeding issues. Any comments on this??

The 556 pistol is a sweet little gun man. I just built out a saint victor b5 with np3 raptor handle and talon ambi switch. Waiting on my lantac np3 bcg and I out a swamp fox LPVO and a justice red dot at a 45. Got the M&P pistol and I’m putting a vortex solar arc with the micro 3x mag. Eventually I’ll be putting on a 10.5 upper instead of the 7.5 but before I’m going to shoot the shit out of it.
@El Vato dude these M&P sports are a good deal. People who say Daniel defense is better and lantac and blah blah are people who don’t really know jay they are taking about. Anything milspec is going to be very similar to the point f you can tell. What you are paying for is the barrel and bcg and with the money you save buying a M&P sport 2 you can easily buy a new bcg barrel and guard and have a much better rifle then a stock DD
I would save some money and go Aero Precision, BCM, or POF. For 2000-2500 you could have a fully kitted pistol. The rattler alone is 2500-3500. Also the barrel lengths are really short in the rattlers , better ballistics in longer barrels depending what round you're wanting to use.

Impressive. About damn time. And I run a standard Ruger AR-556, which has operated extremely well. However, there were no Sport IIs available at the time. (2017... about $540.00 out the door for either) On the other hand, the wife runs a 10.5 inch PSA AR pistol. With the only (equivalent) options at the time being Springfield Saint pistol variants, for the most part. Slightly higher price, of course. Nonetheless, a welcome option to our choice of AR pistols.

Yes, all 5.56 can run .223. In reality, you can run 5.56 in a .223 if it feeds properly even though manufacturers don’t suggest it. Specs for 5.56 is slightly hotter and longer but manufactures generally don’t load different between the two. I’m ready to get bashed for that statement in the comments.
Had to send mine back to smith and Wesson out of three magazines I had 1 misdeeds and about 13 misfires took bcg out cleaned was really dirty it looked like there were peices of brass .I believe the problem is the 7.5 in barrel in 5.56 looks like you need at least 10.in to get complete powder burn after talking to S&W they suggest you use at least a 65 grain ammo with this short of barrel.

The upper, lower, rail, charging handle, and “buffer tube” are all polymer. Basically the only metal on the gun is the barrel, flash hider, takedown pins, trigger assembly, mag release and bolt. I say “buffer tube” because it’s not a real buffer tube and it’s one single piece including the lower. The 15-22 pistol is a blowback system so it doesn’t use an actual buffer. All that said, it is still an awesome and fun little firearm.

Not everyone wants to pay for the extra cost of the 300 black-out rounds (70% more expensive) and the 556 is all most of us need for home defense.

S&W did offer a piston driven rifle. It was the M&P 15 PS and PSX. No longer in production because they didn't sell many. Great guns though.
