    Good pointers. Question. Do you consider the knee over the pedal and not over the ankle on a spinning Bike? Thanks.

    • @catkom8132
      @catkom8132 3 роки тому +1

      Hi Scott. Can you further clarify your question?

    • @scotttownley5076
      @scotttownley5076 3 роки тому

      @@catkom8132 sure. When I did long distance road cycling. When you got custom fitted for the bike they used a string with a weight. They hung of from the bone on the outside of your knee. When the weight on the other end hung at the side of your foot it was exactly over the center of the pedal. This made sure your knees would nit get blown out from cycling. Thus. The knee over pedal concept.

    • @catkom8132
      @catkom8132 3 роки тому +1

      @@scotttownley5076 I understand. I usually aim more for knee over where the laces would be. I does depend on the rider's mobility when it comes to Spinning. I think it can range from a 90 degree angle (when knee is right over ankle ususally) at the knee to a slight acute angle where the knee is more during the outdoor fitting you're describing. In that small range though.

    great video. some people ask were to put the handlebars with regard to coming more in or further away (not height wise- length wise). what is the guideline?

    • @StudioSWEATonDemand
      @StudioSWEATonDemand  5 років тому

      That is the last position to adjust. First, make sure the rest are all correct. Then, adjust the reach for comfort and proper upper body extension. A slight bend in the elbow indicates a proper fit. It's more about comfort.

    Unless her foot has unusual proportions, she doesn't have the ball of her foot over the spindle of the pedal. It's typically closer to the widest plane of the shoe since the ball of the foot is the widest plane of the foot. Either way, this is a long held misconception, as the foot needs to be supported by both ends of its arc at the mid foot. It creates an issue of toe overlap for some types bikes, but that is never a problem for spin bikes.

      Jake M Usually, there should me no weight on the handlebars! The weight is on the bottom (seat/tights). You don’t want to lean foward and put all your weight on the handlebars, also when yoûre standing on the bike. The handlebars are there to keep your balance essentially. I would like for you to show me one road rider that rides with a flat back..... I would definitely suggest working on your own form on the bike before setting others up....
