As someone who rescues senior pets a piece of advice I always give people is cherish this time you have and embrace this new normal. So many times we look at an older pet as a shell of who they were before, but as our pets get older it's still them, just with a few more challenges. In 2019, when I was at the lowest I've ever been in my life, all I could do for days at a time was sit and watch yours and Jenna's videos, and there was always something about Kermit that I was drawn to - he made me happy in a time where I had no happiness. I got so much comfort from those videos, and so much comfort from him. I think what you and Jenna have done for him, and done for all the dogs, is so inspiring. It's been a privilege to get see some of your lives and some of Kermit's life. If it's his time, I hope he goes easy. I’m so sorry you’re going through that, my cat passed a few months back because of cancer. It was very sudden since we didn’t know what was going on until we were told she must have it and we had to let her go. It’s heartbreaking but it does get better, especially knowing your baby isn’t suffering anymore. Sending you love.

@@meowmew444 Almost the exact same thing with me and my first doggo Bran, who passed suddenly of spleen cancer on May 3rd of this year. He had an otherwise great day, and healthy, great 11 years of life though. We only get them for so long - if I could go back, I wouldn't change a thing (barring the magical ability to poof the cancer away). I only wish I HAD known, so that I could have made the extra effort when he was still well enough to go do some of those bucketlist things we didn't get to do. If I can say one thing, it's definitely to make sure you find that time to go camping or hiking or swimming one more time, whatever the thing is, if possible!

@@meowmew444 I had the same thing happen almost exactly 2 years ago. My girl had a tiny lump on her stomach and we took her in. She had some breathing problems so we assumed she had a respiratory infection but it was cancer that had already metastasized to her lungs. We thought we were going in for a simple check up and came home without her. Four months after that we found out one of our boys was in the end stages of renal failure, and then 7 months later our oldest had a brain aneurism. It's been a wild journey but that's what happens when you rescue a bunch of cats within just a few years of each other. They get old at the same time.

sending my support, i lost my 15 year old cats last year within a few months of each other due to mysterious lumps that were likely cancerous (their age and rapidly declining health made surgery not a really viable option), lots of love and attention is where its at, losing them is hard but not having to see them suffer anymore gives a sense of relief

My parents and I lost our oldest two far too young (5 and 6, the same year), and so now Watson, our baby boy, is an old man and lost most of his teeth at this point. He turns 11 in November and we’ve had him since the day he jumped into my mom’s coworker’s car as a starving, mange-ridden, garbage scrounging two-month-old kitten. I’m 27 now and just cat-sit for my parents over the weekend, and picking up my old man and feeling how light he was broke my soul. Apparently he’s still the same weight he was last year according to his vet, but little things like feeling him lose bone density really make everything so much realist with a senior pet. Cats’ natural lifespans range anywhere from as young as single digits and as old early-to-mid twenties; I hope you and your baby enjoy a happy and comfortable journey through the senior years ♡

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for loving your dogs and animals so hard. Please please never stop. You bring so much joy, love, and happiness to their lives in a world where many animals do not get to experience that at all. A year ago my dog we rescued when I was a kid passed away and even during his senior years when his hearing and eyesight wasn’t good, he still brought so much light into our lives even though it was a difficult and scary time. We have never stopped loving him to this day - I know Kermit has and will continue to do that for y’all too. All we can do for them is love them as hard as we can, for as long as we can. And to tell you the truth, it’s never long enough for us. But, I know in my heart it is for them. Kermie, Miss Weach, Marbles, and any animal that is shown love like that never really leave us. Thank you for giving them such compassion and love 💗
