    Hey beautiful souls just wanted to add a note onto this video in regards to a cultural aspect. I would like to acknowledge the Native Americans tribes for the heritage of the Dreamcatcher. I will be doing another video regarding the legend and history behind real dreamcatchers. I would also like to point out that these are not traditional dreamcatchers and hold no religious or spiritual connections. This particular dreamcatcher is not made with a traditional willow hoop and sinue rather with a plastic hoop and cotton web, technically not a dreamcatcher however, due to marketing it has been called that. There is a very particular way to make a Dreamcatcher involving native traditions to make a real dreamcatcher which I will later speak about. I hold the deepest respect for all our native ancestors and wish all peace, creativity and harmony.

      Marketing shouldn't trump cultural respect. Just call them wall hangings like everyone else.

      I'm new to you channel! And I'm sad about people's reactions to your dreamcatchers. You will never please everyone. I my self love different cultures and traditions. I do t understand why people get offended by this when we are just appreciating and honoring it.

    I love that and using household items are such a plus. I've cut a container for peanut's metal rim (you know those cardboard type cans with the aluminium rims?) I just soak the container to soften the cardboard then cut the lid's rim off. So it's not a messy uneven edge I wrap soft medical tape around first then wrap it with whatever I'm wrapping with you could skip this using a thicker wrap. Wahla instant dream catcher ring lol Love Repurposed Art

    I repurposed some large (half the size of a hula hoop) metal industrial rings for mine, I crochet a pair of large doilies in a rainbow of colors for the centers (without the trailing bits) for wind spinners for each end of my porch several years ago. As well as a couple larger ones that hang on the walls inside.

    Love your videos, you get right to it and I can’t tell you how many DIY UA-cam videos I have seen where they start to explain how to make the item and they spend the whole time repeating themselves. You will watch 5 to 10 mts of them of subject to. Ugh I have no patience and I flip til I find someone gets to the job at hand I FOUND YOU!! Thank you so much for not only speeding the long process up. Thank you for making beautiful Dreamcatchers.

    A question for anyone who makes these with hula hoops...what methods, if any, have you found to prevent the hoops from sagging once the dream catcher is completed?

    • @Gargamel19
      @Gargamel19 6 років тому +4

      i would say find a twine that's as light as possible and dont wrap the hoop with anything but rather spray paint instead? Then make sure whatever you choose to hang from the bottom half to also be light weight.....*best guess* im in the middle of making one NOW and will be using jude twine and i spray painted the hoop gold. My design will also be the half moon instead of the full traditional one....; )

    • @cutedarkarts
      @cutedarkarts 6 років тому +2

      Actually, filling the hoop might work, as it would be like reinforcing the hoop. If not, try and buy a metal hula hoop.
