Hey Trent and Ally, I've been following your progress on the house with trepidation, you're both doing an amazing job and I can't wait to see it all completed. In the meantime you're an inspiration to anyone who are in the process of making a home for themselves. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I feel such a part of your journey. Much love xx

I’m not sure how far you are along on the drywall but check out the magnetic locator kit to cut light and wall plug openings! You just clip the magnetic piece inside the outlet box then hang the drywall and put the locator piece over the outlet and it centers itself allowing you to draw around it. Also have one for the can lights. Take the rotozip to the drawing and you end up with a perfect cutout! No measuring or guesswork. Doing my first drywall project right now as I watch your adventure. I don't know if you two have your outdoor colors picked out for your house, but I'd like to make a suggestion. Scottish plaids generally have great color combonations. There are a lot that you could look at. My personal favorite is a blue (almost navy) with a green stripe running through it. Maybe you'd want to paint your house in the lighter color of whatever combination you choose, with the trim in the darker color. Maybe in front, you could do a section of various shades of woods in a herringbone pattern, like between two of the windows on the main floor. Have a great weekend!🌞🐾😎
@@catherinenelson4162 they actually ordered them 7-8 videos back. They went with 2 different colors, both a brown if I remember correctly. I love blue, I'd for sure incorporate outside & in if I ever was lucky enough to design my own house lol.

We want to avoid situations that cause Allie to worry or feel any angst. So, let her find out the gender of the baby growing inside of her so she won’t stress about it. She can keep it as a lovely surprise for Trent. And as far as her patience goes, I'd say it takes a lot of patience to run a successful business while living in a camper during the self-build of a house-all while being pregnant. And there are a few more months to come. She’s doing great and looking absolutely beautiful! Too beautiful! 🥰🥰🥰
This might get lost amongst all the comments but, I use a large wet sponge instead of sand paper to smooth and finish my joint compound seams and screw heads. NO DUST! Just something to think about.
I know nothing about dry wall but they're renovating at my work so I walk through clouds of dry wall dust every day... so I'm upvoting and commenting so hopefully this doesn't get lost in the comments. No idea if it works but I do know that dry wall dust is a whole mess.
I understand why some people choose to wait, but I also can understand wanting to know and having that extra connection to the being that you’re growing. Whatever you guys choose will be the right thing to do!
My husband asked that I tell you when cutting on the inside of electrical boxes go clockwise. If cutting outside of the box you need to go counter clockwise. He is a professional drywaller and just retired after 40 years. Your house is coming along very nicely! Best wishes!
@@kabukidreamboy Ii helped out a friend occasionally as a day labourer well over 30yrs ago, usually for a bit of weekend cash when he was behind on jobs. Back then, the cordless and/or specialty tool world didn't really exist. We'd use a corded drill and standard bit, just manually setting the depth. We always went clockwise. I think because back then, there was a tin mounting plate attached to the framework and then the plastic insert. I think it was so the drill bit would cut the tin when skimming so there was no binding up. Nowadays the outlet boxes all seem to be in one piece. So it might have something to do with not cutting off the screw mounts if you go counter clockwise. I really don't know. Just a guess really.
@@kabukidreamboy So maybe if the bit goes clockwise you go counter-clockwise in order to create that friction / resistance and you get more control going around the box.
Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary Trent and Allie, I can't believe it's a year since your beautiful Wedding 💒🥳🎊🥂🍾🍻🎉 Allie enjoy your lovely Umbrella 👍🤗🤗💕💕🇮🇪🍀
If you get one of those big yellow tiling sponges (I cut them in half) and have it lightly damp, go over the edges of the wet mud to smooth it out. You won't have to sand hardly at all.
FIND OUT NOW! IT HELPS with EVERYTHING. Even Allie's parents will know what to get (colors). Do a zoom with parents over dinner. You can do it. You don't need to be fretting about anything. PS... Trent has done a very nice job for one guy and a friend. Brandon is such a helpful assistant. Especially some of those tosses up to the top of the scaffolding! It's so all good. Two thumbs up, Trent.
with the rotozip go counterclockwise when you are on the outside of a box and clockwise if you are going on the inside of anything. the rotation of the bit will help it guide better that way
Trent, I have news for you about your man cave under the stairs; when I was a kid, that little room under the stairs became my extra special playroom and I loved it. So, when Jr. comes along, you may have some competition for that room! Allie, you are glowing and you looked extra beautiful for your anniversary dinner. 🌿
When we finished our basement, we added a mini side door to the closet under the stairs that accessed from the playroom. It is a favorite place and my teen daughter even did school online from there during the pandemic. (her choice to do it there) It has been used for years as a hidey hole and currently has pillows and blankets and twinkly wire lights that will change colors set up in there.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !! Allie, you won that umbrella long before you won the golf bet. You know that smile captured Trent long ago, and still, he's gonna keep you a happy woman. Trent: " It's crazy, the little things that women find so important ... " But that's what makes our crazy little women so important to us. You two are perfect together.
congratulations on so many first. Anniversary, umbrella, dry wall, Trent Pro Dry Waller, electricity connection, first room dr walled, first yoga session under the umbrella. It so good when a day goes well from beginning to end. Makes up for days that dont go so well. In my day we found out on delivery of bubs, one nurse thought I was having twins, until dr confirmed only one. Into days economic times & cost of baby things so expensive, the practical side comes out in me & yes to finding out. I love the comment from previous comment Being able to call your baby by their name & the interaction between mum, dad & baby. Love & blessings from Australia 🇦🇺🐨😊💖💙👶🏻💖💙👶🏻
Allie: If the baby's gender is important to you in terms of decorating the nursery or buying clothes and toys, then you find out. New mamas go into a "nesting" phase when making things ready for the new arrival is the most important thing in the world, and this feeling should be understood and accommodated by the rest of the family. So, go for it. That's my vote. Plus, I want to know, too.
When drywalling you only have to set screws at 8" at the edges and 12" in the middle stud/studs! (around 55-60 screws on a board that is 8 by 4 feet in size)
The umbrella saga is a perfect example of “happy wife, happy life”. Allie makes doing that easy because the things she wants usually benefit everyone, not just her.
I noticed you’re trying a couple new filming techniques this week. I’m so impressed by you two. Thinking ahead to the kinds of filming you will do in the future and am excited for your opportunities ahead
@@kabukidreamboy indeed. Anyone can dry wall, but I always thing (what we call) plastering is almost an art form not a trade. And I’ve seen some very poor artists in my time 😉
@@kabukidreamboy Truly is and should have used the pros for hanging, taping and texturing. They will be regretting this decision many many times it the very near future.
One tip on Sheetrock. You don’t need to cut the end strip to separate the two sheets of rock, just grab the end of the strip and tear it off like your opening a overnight mail package.
I didn’t find out until my babies were born so I can’t help you there. The technology wasn’t as accurate back then and I felt that it was one of the few surprises left in life and there was nothing like that moment in the delivery room when they said “It’s a boy!” I know it would be impossible to wait with accurate info in a file somewhere. If you want to know Allie then go find out! Congratulations on your one year anniversary and on your lovely umbrella!
Happy Anniversary. Good job today. So glad it's you doing all that dry walling, taping and mudding. We have done it once with an extension we did in our last home. My husband put the drywall up and I was left to the taping and mudding. It turned out really well but never again.
There is nothing wrong with taking advice from others. We all have our own stories, but at the end of the day, the decision is yours to make. This is your baby, so follow your intuitive guidance and go from there. My advice: You're a planner Allie so be yourself and do what feels right for you. Don't change to please anyone. We love you the way you are. My advice, for what it's worth.
Hey guys, get some drywall panel carriers!! They’re plastic and make it so much easier to carry the drywall. Also look at getting a drywall jack for lifting your upper pieces in place. And a drywall kick to lift the bottom pieces in place.
ALL 3 are excellent suggestions. They were life savors for us. We started with just the carriers and the kick and made 2 large T's from 2x4's to help hold the drywall up for ceilings but overall, once we rented the jack it made things SO MUCH easier and definitely more helpful!!!
@@DaRkHoRsE-_- Not sure what you mean. They still have the scaffolding that they have been using all along to reach the high ceiling. It was shown in the video at 11:22.
When we were having our first baby everyone told us we we’re having a boy by the way I was holding it. They didn’t have the option of finding out. Time to deliver and the doc says early that “oh look, it’s a girl!” My husband says, “pop it back in, he’s not done “. Doc says, “Oh no, He’s a boy!”
I know that you love your new drywall screw gun, but you are putting in about twice as many screws as are needed and remember that each screw is a mud point.....also is there anyway that you can get the drywall delivered....going to be a long task and any help would be appreciated.
My dad and I did some drywall work, he kept telling me to keep that 45• angle with the scrapper and give the mud good pressure and slide down with some speed. It’s kind of fun. Lots of layers to get things right but so satisfying. Good luck guys I have faith you can get it, if anything you can sand down what you need in the end.
If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. It is the simple things in life - like an umbrella for the deck - that mean the most. Trent also seemed to enjoy the umbrella while eating his breakfast. So, it is a win/win/win/win/win (for Frank, Lika, and the baby also).
you cant change it and youll love it either way - not everything needs to be planned out - parenthood will prove that to you - the ultimate surprise. I was surprised with both of mine and dont regret it for any reason. what a blessing!
Find out! It helps so you can be prepared ahead of time and family/friends know what kinds of gifts are suitable. Either way you’ll be happy and you can go ahead and choose a name. The 1 thing that I would pay to have done is tape, bedding, drywall. It’s the absolute worst! My brother in law who actually is very skilled and CAN do every part of building (and has) even hired this part out on their last house. He’s a patient person but this is a hard thing to do.
Everyone wants everything now. There's something special about finding out what you have the moment it's born. The emotion and joy doesn't compare to a phone call or a doctor's office or a reveal party. Nothing compares to that anticipation thrill when the doctor says..."It's a....." Till recently the shared experience of all parents was that moment you saw your creation for the first time and what God gave you. Do you get your Christmas present in July? Remember the thrill and excitement finding out Christmas morning. Would it be the same to get the exact same thing in July? No. It's that moment in time that makes it so special. Wait. Just wait till that moment. I promise you won't regret it.
Happy Anniversary ❣️. It doesn’t seem it’s been a year since that surprise for Grandma & Grandpa !!! It was a beautiful ceremony and a Beautiful Bride💕 Congratulations !!! Also hope everyone is well in Brandon’s family🥰🥰 I don’t remember hearing any mention of their status…. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 prayers were said for them …. AND glad Allie has the umbrella

Allie of course you need to know the gender! It’s so fun to know early so you can plan everything. My daughter is pregnant with her first baby and found out with the blood work. She’s having a baby girl in September and we’re so excited.
“This Is The 🏠 That Jack Built” Had a chuckle with Trent’s moment of fame when he lifted his pant’s legs modeling his new shoes while adorning his multi-colored stripped 🧦 in perfect “v” pose; priceless.
Needed my Trent &Allie fix this morning with coffee of course. Was curious about how and if you bathe the dogs. Watching Lika in follage are you worried about deer ticks? Horse troft would be an awesome tub!
Just wait when he gets to the step of putting mud on all those screw heads and then having to sand all of them smooth. Not pretty at all and a major pain in the backside. This is def the step that should have been done by the pros.
Great video. A little tip, for detailed cuts I find it easier to use a wood hand saw with a fine blade. Better than a padsaw. And better than cracking small bits using a knife.
I think if Allie wants to know... let her know! She’s gotta carry this beautiful gift around for almost 10 months. It’s going to affect every part of her body. This will definitely help her understand what’s going on with her body. We carry boys and girls differently and their hormones affect our hormones and how we feel. So absolutely find out and plan for what is to come as this journey unravels.
Sheetrock dust and sanding the mud are the worst. It sticks to everything and is difficult to remove. Don't use paper tape, it will dry and crack over time. It's more work because you have to mud under and over the tape. Use a self-adhesive drywall mesh tape. Unlike paper tape, fiberglass mesh tape is not susceptible to air bubbles, since it has holes in it. Mesh tape really helps speed up the taping process.
I do love watching you two. Almost all women want to know the sex. There's no way Allie could know and not tell Trent. She's gonna start buying gender specific things. You two do you. If you just can't handle the wait anymore, have an early gender reveal. Don't stress yourselves out one way or the other. The house is looking great and Allie was straight GLOWING at the end of the episode.
Don’t find out the sex, it’s the best Christmas present you will ever have. Yellow, grey, white and teal is enough for now. ❤️Love You look incredibly beautiful Allie🥰

And as far as her patience goes, I'd say it takes a lot of patience to run a successful business while living in a camper during the self-build of a house-all while being pregnant. And there are a few more months to come. She’s doing great and looking absolutely beautiful! Too beautiful! 🥰🥰🥰
Absolutely
AMEN!!!!!
Happy Anniversary Trent & Allie!
I am with you Allie, if it is known, I must know too!
I don't even understand the difference?!
I guess the bit turns in a clockwise direction so maybe that affects the cutting?
@@kabukidreamboy So maybe if the bit goes clockwise you go counter-clockwise in order to create that friction / resistance and you get more control going around the box.
Beats me, but Trent made a bit of a mess of his first one 🤣
Happy anniversary Guys!! Allie enjoy your umbrella, i too love to sit outside especially in the mornings and listen to the birds chirping.
Seeing Frank makes my heart melt every. single. time!❤
I love frank the OG
It’s crazy fun and good how just a simple purchase of an umbrella can make you happy, great job guys! Way to stay positive with dry wall.
Thanks Chuck
Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary Trent and Allie, I can't believe it's a year since your beautiful Wedding 💒🥳🎊🥂🍾🍻🎉 Allie enjoy your lovely Umbrella 👍🤗🤗💕💕🇮🇪🍀
What a friend, Brandon is.
A true friend is a true blessing.
Amen. Good team💪🤠
Hopefully he’s getting paid as well but yes great friend.
Two thumbs up, Trent.
with the rotozip go counterclockwise when you are on the outside of a box and clockwise if you are going on the inside of anything. the rotation of the bit will help it guide better that way
Yes, sooner is better. Trent, Allie is so happy with the shade - it was worth every penny! Congrats Allie! The drywall journey begins!
Find out sooner than later, something to be excited about! Love your videos!
But that's what makes our crazy little women so important to us.
You both look so happy!! You should be so so proud of yourselves!!
…true that!😎👍
They are going to have a reveal and find out before the birth... Allie is just impatient.
When drywalling you only have to set screws at 8" at the edges and 12" in the middle stud/studs! (around 55-60 screws on a board that is 8 by 4 feet in size)
I've always said that finding out the gender is a surprise whether you do it at 15 weeks, 20 weeks, or birth. So why wait when you can prepare!???
Excellent point
whata great wat to ut it!!!
Knowledge is power. Find out ASAP! Why wait? Makes no sense.
The umbrella saga is a perfect example of “happy wife, happy life”. Allie makes doing that easy because the things she wants usually benefit everyone, not just her.
Didn't they show the umbrella already a couple of videos ago??
@@tiffanychau2752 I think they showed it on Instagram stories?
She won the umbrella, fair and square and now she gets to enjoy it .
Allie’s smart! Happy pregnant wife happy life! 😅
Sorry, I’m a gal and I don’t buy in to the happy wife, happy life deal. There’s always the midline of compromise. Should not always be one-sided.
I noticed you’re trying a couple new filming techniques this week. I’m so impressed by you two. Thinking ahead to the kinds of filming you will do in the future and am excited for your opportunities ahead
Trent's happy dance is life!!! Congratulations on your accomplishments thus far!!! 🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺❤
“If we’re good enough it won’t need much sanding”
I’m saving that clip for future reference.
HAHAHAHAHA 😂😂🤣🤣😆😆🤪🤪
Dry walling's a piece of piss isn't it:-)
@@kabukidreamboy indeed.
Such a wonderful video. Glad to see Leo smiling & the dogs. I forgot that my brothers liked to rebuild old cars. But then he sold them.
The only thing about this channel that I don't like is that each episode comes to an end. 🤪
One tip on Sheetrock. You don’t need to cut the end strip to separate the two sheets of rock, just grab the end of the strip and tear it off like your opening a overnight mail package.
The umbrella looked like a flower blooming!!!!! HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Can not wait for next week when Trent is soooo sick of drywall. Great job guys.
Same here, Jen!
Here too!
I'm with Allie on this one. Not knowing the sex is like looking at an unopened Christmas present for nine months - no good at that either😊
Happy 1 Yr Anniversary. You two will have so many celebrations coming soon. Good idea to start in the closet and downstairs.
Hey guys, get some drywall panel carriers!! They’re plastic and make it so much easier to carry the drywall. Also look at getting a drywall jack for lifting your upper pieces in place. And a drywall kick to lift the bottom pieces in place.
Dry wall kick is nice. But I think most of the ceilings are a bit too tall for the drywall lift. 😜
We always just used a piece of scrap 1/2 inch drywall to get the gap at the floor. It was easy to just set the drywall onto it.
ALL 3 are excellent suggestions. They were life savors for us. We started with just the carriers and the kick and made 2 large T's from 2x4's to help hold the drywall up for ceilings but overall, once we rented the jack it made things SO MUCH easier and definitely more helpful!!!
I was wondering why no scaffold for the higher parts but I guess if you don’t own it would be another expense??
@@DaRkHoRsE-_- Not sure what you mean. They still have the scaffolding that they have been using all along to reach the high ceiling. It was shown in the video at 11:22.
If Mama wants to know. Then by all means!! I couldn't wait either and nowadays there's really no reason to
Allie, you are absolutely GLOWING!!!!!! Pregnancy totally agrees with you!
Those umbrellas are amazing, but I recommend attaching a string from both sides to the deck, because that thing goes WILD when its windy! :)
Agree, sat under one that went a little wild yesterday!!
I had 6 babies and never knew fun surprises
When we were having our first baby everyone told us we we’re having a boy by the way I was holding it. They didn’t have the option of finding out. Time to deliver and the doc says early that “oh look, it’s a girl!” My husband says, “pop it back in, he’s not done “. Doc says, “Oh no, He’s a boy!”
When you will be done with the house, Brandon is gonna need his own homemade house too
Would love to see them build right next door, that would be AWESOME!!!😊
You find out and let Trent find out when he's ready, unless you want to find out together 🥰
I know that you love your new drywall screw gun, but you are putting in about twice as many screws as are needed and remember that each screw is a mud point.....also is there anyway that you can get the drywall delivered....going to be a long task and any help would be appreciated.
Ha! I thought that was a lot of screws!
Shh, just invest in the screw manufacturer and enjoy the video.
I'm happy you had a great time today. Congratulations for the drywall... and the umbrella.
If this is about drywall then I will say yes haha! Eamon and Bec thought they could do it but they got professionals in the end
And Eamon called Trent who told him to hire someone to tape and mud. Just saying...
Life Uncontained did it all themselves x
@@dianahollenbeck9986 You're so right!
@@rosn55 I don't watch them but props to them! Doing drywall seems so easy but I would 100% mess it up if I tried :)
🇳🇱I would rather have a canopy so that the whole varanda has shade. Greetings from the Netherlands and lots of construction fun.
They will. The umbrellas probably just temporary. They can use it later when they build the pool!😹😹
My mom has a deck with an awning that rolls up into a cover. With a remote.
I would have ben proud to have you as my son Trent and Allie as my daughter in law and Brandon as my best friend you all are great.
Trent has had a baby. I vote Allie gets whatever she wants. This is her first and if she wants to know, she should be able to find out without guilt
I agree. I love how she is enjoying her pregnancy and I know Trent does as well but Allie is the mommy is a different experience
I agree also. It's whatever Allie wants all the way..
She is helping build a house and growing a little body in her....
Noooo
Wait
They were already planning to find out ahead of time, at the gender reveal party.
No...the surprise is so worth the wait.. We live in such an on demand world, leave some things to the natural progression 💕💕💕
I gotta agree....that's one of a gazillion wonderful things about childbirth, especially your 1st!👍😊❤❤
Plus its not as if you need to know as there is no nursery to decorate...
Allie deserves to know. Her desire should be primary. Trent, go ahead and don’t ask, stay in the dark.

OMG! I’d be SOOO drunk hahaha cheers 🥂
Allie of course you need to know the gender! It’s so fun to know early so you can plan everything. My daughter is pregnant with her first baby and found out with the blood work. She’s having a baby girl in September and we’re so excited.
Then you will be happy to know they are planning a gender reveal party with their family. Congratulations on your grandbaby!
Why not? Lots to plan for & Mom's got the need to know! Allie's so sweet. Come on Trent you don't want to steal her joy.
She won the umbrella, fair and square and now she gets to enjoy it .
“This Is The 🏠 That Jack Built”
Had a chuckle with Trent’s moment of fame when he lifted his pant’s legs modeling his new shoes while adorning his multi-colored stripped 🧦 in perfect “v” pose; priceless.
Happy 1st anniversary!! I can't believe it's been a year already.
Needed my Trent &Allie fix this morning with coffee of course. Was curious about how and if you bathe the dogs. Watching Lika in follage are you worried about deer ticks? Horse troft would be an awesome tub!
FYI, you don't need that many screws. 12" spacing or more would be fine.
I came on here to say this!! Well, actually I was gonna ask, why so many screws?
@@rachellawrence3123 cuz beginner:) They spaced out pretty quick after the very first panel.
Lol he said minimal sanding..😂🤣😂
Funny guy ✌️❤️❤️✌️
They can't have an early gender reveal. They are waiting for Allie's parents' visit in July.
Don’t find out the sex, it’s the best Christmas present you will ever have. Yellow, grey, white and teal is enough for now.
❤️Love
You look incredibly beautiful Allie🥰
It’s great to see Allie smiling so much…..and Trent being such a Daddy……already…….congratulations!
Allie find out because you are an organized person and planning is essential.
