trent and allie
I love how supportive, positive and delighted Allie is. Just the loveliest person x
As a professional drywall hanger for many years most sheets were initially nailed up then we would follow up and 'screw off' the field screws later. And we would always be aware of what would make the tapers job easier as we made hanging decisions i.e. direction of sheets, spanning rim joists etc. (oh yeah, and staggering butt joints). The good news is almost anything can be fixed with drywall mud. Maybe a little more mud, but it can all be made to look fine, by a professional. But I kinda want Trent to try and tape the drywall for sheer entertainment value and wish you all the best no matter.
When I built our house in North Carolina. The drywall hangers put adhesive on every stud. So they didn't need so many screws.
Yeah, I just checked in to see if anyone else would say something about the butt joints. My wife told me not to say anything. 😉 I wonder if Trent knows to put the T&G on the ceilings first also. 🤔
Oh yeah, this will definitely be entertaining on some level…just sayin’😝
😬The more I read people’s comments makes me realize how difficult dry wall really is. We refinished our fireplace and had to do a small amount of drywall repair. It ended up being a lot harder than I thought it would be.
I'm a 40 year retired painter.
And in all those years I've only meet one guy who didn't have to sand. He told me it's the way you mix your mud. It was a pleasure painting behind him.
Taping and mudding is an art, watching professionals do it is like watching an artist at work!
Definitely!
COULDN’T agree more!!! It’s like watching a sculpture artist at work 👍🏼 BUT if anyone can teach themselves within an incredible short amount of time to get it right…… IT’S TRENT 💕👍🏼 GO TEAM TRENT/BRANDON & ALLIE 💕💕💕
They are indeed artists!
And thee are lots of UA-cam videos to learn from them 👍
I had a union drywall finisher show me the trick after building my additions.Try not to sand by learning how to apply that mud smooth.👍
Enjoy lika while shes young and fun , I've had hubby in hospital for 6 months straight & yesturday I had to have our 11 yr old " puppy put to sleep due to kidney failure ,then had to tell hubby over text due to lockdown from covid ~ so heart breaking especially as I'm sure hubby loved her more than he loved me LOL . We got her from a terrible home at 6 weeks of age , she was like a mini Lassie - covered in fleas and she ended up having 11 yrs of the best care possible .She gave us a lot of fun and laughter over those years .A big hole left in our lives now .
Lol! The lantern behind the drywall. My husband is a contractor/ superintendent. Drywall is his specialty. I've been to lots of his job sites and know more about drywall that I would like to admit. Your doing a great job for a newbie.
I love the way Allie constantly brags on their work to keep their spirits up. Looking good!
Allie is always so positive and always smiling! How could Trent EVER be in a bad mood? You're a lucky man Trent! Love ya'lls channel and keep up the good work guys!
Trent is a complainer by nature.
Oh, so that’s it-Allie is quite tolerant- she’s very strong!!
He does all the hard work, what do you expect?!
Allie also has a little one and doesn't need to be doing anything to strainuous. Also she does plenty I bet that ya'll never see! Who do you think cooks and cleans? She helps for whatever is needed..
And I’d like to see any of you go and basically build a whole house with no experience. Pretty crazy if step back and think about it..
Recommend you stagger your dry wall joints, to minimize cracks spreading
@Alan d'Eon They aren't expecting perfection. Doing it themselves is a great reward. It's just drywall.
@Alan d'Eon I’m curious, what other mistakes did they make?
Trent and Allie - you two are so entertaining! Thank you for making my day a very happy one!
Everything looks great! Love to see the smiles and attaboy's as you finish each section....you kids are awesome! I am concerned about the dry wall dust and or irritation you may get. Sister in law had a piece of drywall fall on her leg and it cut open her shin which took 2 years to heal horrible wound/scar from the gypsum irritating the flesh that got cut when the sheetrock landed against her leg. Please read on the caution to the skin/eyes/etc of gypsum.
Just a caring mom, wife of 54 years and grandma of 8 who cares about you guys! Please be careful!!
God bless............you're doing a fabulous job. Loving it and can't wait to see the finale~~
Take care of yourselves!
I think you guy's are killing it and it looks amazing. So happy Allie's positivity is there to balance out Trent's negativity!
I love you guys but the constant negativity is a turn off :( I disagree that Allie should be propping him up all the time.....I am weary of this
Try to look at it differently! How interesting would it be if they were both positive? Trent just cut a hole for the ceiling light and said he did it perfectly! That was positive! I love how wonderful Trent responds to Ally’s positive words! What I have trouble with is a critical spirit!
speaking of the great lantern incident of '21, you guys should put a time capsule in the wall somewhere. Either for the next owners, whoever finds it, or for you guys to look at in 25 years. How fun would that be! You could write letters to each other, to the baby, and include all sorts of stuff!
I was waiting for their initials to go into the concrete, but time capsule would be awesome too !!
My son's did this to our house(which we purchased from my dad after grandpa passed away in 1990) 31 years ago! My father also did this in 1946 when my grandfather was working on this exact house. My dad drew a really perfect "Model A" Ford on a joist with date and his young boyish signature which we cleaned/shined it all up and gave it to him as a Christmas gift! He totally loved! Thanks for sparking a wonderful memory!💖😁💖
Like LITTLE PEOPLE BIG WORLD PAPA MATT DID FOR HIS GRANDKIDS .VERY SWEET IDEA .
Before that last piece of drywall goes up you should put a time capsule in the walls! A picture of you two and the dogs and a copy of an ultrasound in a bag
That’s exactly what I was going to comment! I think it’s a very fun idea.
And don't forget to include Brandon in the picture as he helped with alot of this build!
Excellent idea!
I was JUST talking to my mom about how she wants to do this in the huge square void (he has plenty of storage space and didn’t want yet another lazy Susan) in her re-modeled kitchen cabinets. She wants to write a letter to who ever has the house after she does.
Hi again T&A
Hang in there guys! Truly the mud and finishing will be your toughest step. So important.
Happy to see you looking and feeling so good Allie. Sweet little bump showing a bit! Thinking your new umbrella is your new happy place. Your positive cheerful attitude makes you a great cheerleader for the guys.
Thx as always for sharing your home building journey. Onward you go! Stay safe...
A word of advice. I just finished drywalling, taping and mudding my own house. Use fewer screws, you're going to kick yourself later. Also if any screws didn't hit a stud, remove them or they will start backing out in a few months and mess up your finish work.
Watching these build videos is really making me appreciate my dad a lot more! He built our house from the concrete up with very minimal help and I don’t think I’ve appreciated properly how much he went through to get that done for our family! Thank you guys!
You're such a beautiful soul sweet pea! That was beautiful! God bless your dad and your whole family, every day in every way imaginable in Jesus name Amen
We have a cathedral ceiling with tongue and groove and the best thing we did was finish each board BEFORE we hung the boards.
I agree. Same goes for crown moulding!
I painted all our fence boards and two by fours on trestle legs before my husband put them on the fence posts. 😊 No sprayer, just had brushes and oil stain.
I just bought Stock in Drywall screws, thanks Trent.
Hahahahaha LOL------🤣😂
You just won the Internet!!! LMBOoooooo
Too funny... I was thinking the same... LoL 😂
Covering all those holes. 😬
You seen that too !! 😁
Trent.....I think you are doing a GREAT job! don't let the people who want to criticize you bother you! it's so easy to criticize as you type away .....you are doing a GREAT job!
We had a wonderful Australian heeler who had that same bad habit. Our vet finally suggested giving her a CBD chew before we left and we made sure to say goodbye and give her a quick cuddle. We also gave her a bone as son as she went into the crate. It was the only time she got those treats. It helped so much... Good puppy mojo coming your way!
Make sure to sign your names or leave a note inside the wall somewhere before it's all closed up! That way you'll always be a part of it and it's history.
..leave a $5.00 bill taped to the back ,, so that a repair can finish with a beer ..
A friend of mine did a time capsule which I thought was cool!
Put a current newspaper in the wall to be discovered.
Trent moving timeline faster by allowing professionals to take and mud would be a fabulous gift to your pregnant wife.... Nesting in the third trimester is a real thing!
What is she, a bird?
@@JamesBond-qv2ht No, its really called nesting. They often want their furniture moved or repainting, making curtains, etc.
@@jeanburk9539 sounds super annoying for the husband. Glad I don’t have kids.
That is a beautiful shot with the drone at the beginning! Love it! When connecting your trailer to your vehicle you should criss cross your safety chains underneath the tongue of your trailer so just in case your trailer were to come loose the tongue would not hit the ground. Just a little safety tip!
Crossing safety chains is the law in most States.
The lantern thing… Allie, we ALL love you! What would life BE, up there, WITHOUT YOU?
Like it or not, Trent would NEVER have put his heart, mind, body and soul into this venture if you weren’t such a key part of him.
and I would never do ANY of this with anyone other than him 😇
Allie's sweet demeanor and supportive positivity is absolutely AWESOME! 💖
But calling out Trent's Beaver grin was so hilarious! 😂😆 Love you guys so so much! 🥰🙏🏻💕
Trent the more pieces you hang the better you and Brandon will get. You have built your own house so who are we to tell you what you can't do. If you need help, I'm sure you'll get it. So proud of you guys!
YOU CAN DO IT! Besides, I want to watch you try...
Hahahaha. For sure! But look at Trent from the future…. They musta figured it out!
@@emk7132 They must have! The screws even look like they're spaced right!
Trent will not hire even if it kills him! He’s learned the entire house and done wonderful…. No need to stop now!
Amen!! Lol 😂
At this point you probably couldn't find anybody available to do it they booked way out there right now
Haha seriously! If it were me, the more people to tell me to hire someone, the more it would make me NOT hire anyone lol
I dated a perfectionist drywaller n finisher.. he walked on stilts like five or more feet in the air like he was on the ground.. he taught me a lot.. u gotta do it or try before someone says u can’t.. I believe it comes naturally like an artist .. have fun learning Trent.. glad u have Allie..
I helped drywall our living room addition when I was 12. It was me and my Moms job to hold the drywall while my Dad screwed it in. We also sat on ladders and held the drywall against the ceiling while he screwed it in. Since I was much shorter than my Mom I had to balance it on my head while on a ladder to get it up to the ceiling. If I can do that at 12 you and Brandon can muscle it up! Good luck!
I missed ya all on Monday! Looking good. I'm going to take someone's advice and invest in drywall screws!! Hire out the tape/muddying. Been there done that. If you do choose to do it use mesh tape. Allie, you are a saint putting up with Trent. Trent, we all love you but chill dude! It will get done. Brandon, you are priceless!! Hugs from Florida!!
Hanging plasterboards (drywall) is so so tedious but your doing an awesome job on every part of the build. Trent cracks me he bashes himself about his work and his work is spot on....your glass is always half full Trent even though you think its half empty. Great job i love the channel.
Thank you Allie for being considerate and helpful even if your assistance seems a little bothersome to Trent at times. We all know that he loves you dearly. You both need to pace yourselves. Great progress is being made.
Trent you and Brandon are putting that dry wall up like professionals.Allie the most wonderful encouraging cheer leader.
Wow, it’s all coming together, what a TRANSFORMATION!!!👏👏👏👏👏
I admire you Trent and Brandon. Your doing a fantastic job.Allie your personality is precious. You are very supportive and encouraging. The best to each of you.
Trent & Brendon I’m in awe of you both. You just take a job on and learn as you go plus you make such a good job of it. Can’t wait to see the finished house. Thanks for the videos xx
I can attest to the amazingness of the new Smart Ecobee thermostat! It has shaved on average $90 a MONTH on our bill with the smart usage with using the Geofencing option. The house is always the perfect temp and we bought sensors for each room which expand it's capability tenfold. You are making some very wise and green decisions on your build. :)
How can 30 minutes feel like 30 seconds. I know Allie 30 minutes of video took hours to film and edit. We all appreciate the work and love the results you both do.
Absolutely fabulous progress! Keep up that great positive attitude! 'Tape and Mud' month is July! Have fun!
Alli is so positive and easy to please! 💖
When my daughter was building a house, I was there when the drywallers came do their thing. I’ve never seen anything like it - it was a team of, maybe 12 guys - they had the whole house drywalled in like 1.5 hours - high ceilings (vaulted), they moved through so quickly - they taped and mudded just as fast.
I want to say the whole thing took about three days from start to finish. It’s not cheap, but I think the time saved, and the quality of work (no offense), would be worth it.
It's soooooo worth it.....
Agreed but there is no way Trent will consider it
@@ThePjl110 stubbornness to point of not listening to reason/ taking advice from others who have experience is very frustrating and honestly not a good quality . I couldn’t stand it .
If Allie was not expecting I'd say let Trent do it his way, but you're on a timeline that cannot be pushed back (delivery date) and you have no idea if the doc will put Allie on bed-rest near the end.
Let the professionals come on and get it done quickly so you can finish up the place. There's going to be details near the end that will be time consuming, and believe me, you WANT them to be FINISHED way before the baby arrives!!!
Do not keep your eyes on a due-date! Any number of things can change Allie's ability to help out, take care of dogs, etc.
Trent....PLEASE don't be stubborn on this one. If she wasn't pregnant I'd say "do it yourself"....
Hire out floating the sheetrock... you'll thank me later. I promise!
@@deedieducati2272 My thinking exactly! That baby could come early, and you do not want to live out of a small trailer with a baby.
Where I live building code requires you have to do sheetrock everywhere even if you're going to do shiplap or tongue and groove to create a fire break. You might want to check with your local building and fire codes to make sure you don't have to do sheetrock on the ceiling before you put the tongue-and-groove on cuz that could cause occupancy permit problems.
@homedepot should be sponsoring since ya'll mention them so much!!!
Great video!
Same comment here. HD corporate marketing should be all over this channel. Also, at my HD there are usually a few guys looking for day job work hanging near the edge of the parking lot. Some of them may also have experience with drywall. Consider hiring some day labor to move things along faster.
I just love you guys and am so happy for the baby and progress on the house. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I look forward to your videos each week.
You guys are doing a great job! I suggest a good quality respirator dust mask, for working with dry wall. You're really going to need it especially when you get to the sanding part of it. Good quality masks for Trent and Allie and Brandon and anyone else who might be breathing in the dust. Home depot usually has them in stock. You can find them in hardware or in the dry wall aisle.
inevitably we think of how far we have to go on any given journey . but seeing how far we/you have come is amazing .
I remember when Aemon and Bec started doing drywall, they called around for advise and I remember Trent saying 'we will probably hire someone for the taping and mudding'.
But keep going guys you are doing awesome, I love following your journey!
Guys, I'm so sorry to say that.. I don't know how it is with american drywall manufacturers, but in Europe you're not allowed to have cross-joints, like you have at the ceiling. We just finished renovating our apartment and we also did drywall by ourselves.
But I really love your channel and watching your videos pushed me through our struggling renovation-time. ❤
I am from Europe, too. And there is a lot very awkward how americans build houses.
The electric for example, that's how it was made here 50 years ago... And plumbing, OMG...
Bringing in professional sheet rock guys, to do the finish work, will be the best thing you ever did!!
They are fast and can make everything look amazing…. This is from people who did our own and look at some of the walls and wish we would have had finishers…
Awesome you guys, this is just the most exciting video along this journey, and I am so excited like Allie is to see this progress, it is looking good, and I have hung drywall before, I am no expert but helped my first ex husband when he was building houses, and he is still doing that, and the pros know that pretty much everything can be fixed with tape and mud. Thanks for another great video, sending love and hugs, Allie be sure to rest, remember you are growing a human being and it does take a lot out of you. See you in the next video, bye for now.
Come on Trent! I can't believe you are letting Allie take the blame for you closing a lantern up in the wall!
Exactly!! Both Trent and Brandon should have seen the lantern!! You two are the ones hanging the drywall!! Trent should apologize to Allie not give her sh••!
He found a way to blame his wife like the veteran husband that he is. Attaboy Trent!
My thoughts exactly
The covered lantern is symptomatic of larger problems of attention, safety, etc. Sooooooo effing not Allie’s fault. I might be done with the small dick energy.
Agreed. The glare he gave her and snarky comments! He often comments how uncapable he thinks she is.
A couple Pro tips....Get a big crayon and mark the studs on the floor, you'll thank me when you put in trim. Get a different color crayon and mark the boxes on the floor( even the pros miss one every once in a while)...R for receptacle and S for switches.
Trent was in a MOOD this video
He sure was in a mood. On camera too. . Takes all the credit and blames his wife for drywalling a whole lantern in the wall. Well done Trent.
And...it isn't the first time he has exhibited this behavior. I look forward to the couples counseling episodes.
He sure was.. We all have tough days, building a house is stressful and it's not always sunshine and rainbows. But that's life isn't it? You take a deep breath and remember that tomorrow is a new day. 💛
@@TrentandAllie You are brave enough to show reality and it is lovely. All of the rest of us are just watchers. I think lots of the watchers are also cheerleaders, but outside commentary has a highly variable value.
You know, everyone has problems. I think your guys problems revolve around witch-hunting other people as a refuge to ignore your own problems or at least make them look smaller. Look in the mirror. No one is perfect. Stop being assholes...
That being said I do think Trent can be a bit irrational at times but that's something to work on, not be ashamed of.
Allie, you are such a cheerleader 😊Trent, I'm so stoked!!!
So first, Trent always pulls it together. I’m not sure how - he is a wizard. Second - I think November or December feels more realistic for move in. You still have a lot to do. But the great thing is that you three do amazing things regularly.
You guys are absolutely made for each other. God certainly blessed the world with an example of how a couple should be. Love you guys.
I think Trent will give taping and mudding a try for the first day, starting with under the stairway Man Cave, and it will take all day to get just that area done, then he will decide to give in and call a pro to do it. That way it will be done in a day, maybe two, instead of a month. That way he can, at least, say that he tried. He even told Eamon to call someone for their little project. I know he takes pride in all of his work but, it will be OK for you to sit this one out Trent. No one will think differently about you. You guys are all doing a great job. Take a bow and sit back and enjoy the work of someone else for a change! I know Brandon will love you even more for this. 😆😉💜💙
Trent your going over kill on the screws on the dry wall. I wouldn’t worry about the basement. Get the up stairs and your bedroom walls. The basement can be finished once your moved in
Board with a flag board
Thank you for this comment. I wanted to say something on the last vid. Too many screws to cover later. It’s nice to have confirmation. Peace & Blessings ☮️💜
The code is what it is.
Passing inspection is a requirement.
It just looks like too many screws when actually what you see are just holes from screws he missed and then had to remove. It's no big deal and it will look just fine in the end.
Code varies; 6” on the edge and 8” in the field in my state. More screws, less vibration, less cracking and warping. Mud over screws is a breeze; at the joints they are buried in the bevel and covered with tape, especially at butt joints. Never skimp on screws. In my county, you can’t even mud until you’ve had a screw inspection.
Hanging drywall. . .no problem
Taping drywall. . .no problem
Final mud coats and finishing. . .good luck!!!!! Been there!!
A drywall support to hold up upper sheet on a wall is a god send. We made ours with two 2x4x8's for the side rails and two 1x4x4 for the drywall support and the bottom stiffener.
Trent, you and Brandon are doing an amazing job! It's a learning curve and y'all are gaining experience with each piece. Allie is taking good care of Gingersnap! ❤️🙏from SC, Jane😊
Allie, doll your skin looks amazing! You wear baby so well! Trent, we know you're superman but, you need a mask with all that drywall dust love. Things are looking great!
I was always told to use green drywall board in bathrooms and kitchens.
Water proof board is a 'must do" and they'll regret not using it later.
A new approach is built up cement board. A touch harder too work wsssith because of the density and weight of the material used..
Crating tip - get a Kong (or several lol) put peanut butter inside, you can shove treats in too but PB will keep them busy for a while. You can also fill with a slurry of yummy stuff, baby food, pureed veggies etc, put them in the freezer (make several at a time). Great when it's hot and keeps them occupied.
Look for that bright, little right, little light inside (the wall)... New words for that cute little song...😊🥳😊
I’m an old tradie , carpenter ,, I’ve learnt most building skills ,, but stopping up and sanding right is quite hard ,, hard to get perfect ,, something good to pay an expert to do ,, just sayin ,, doing a great job there 👍have fun enjoy the process
I've been working on my own home for over 30 years. And there is one thing I learned the hard way, let the professional plaster guy, do the taping, mudding, and skim coat. Unless its a small patch or an area that nobody sees (in a closet) I leave it to the professionals.
My ex was a union carpenter who did a lot of side work during the lean times. He always insisted on teaming up with his favorite tapers and called them artists. Even on our own projects (and he was one of the most frugal people I know).
O@@teslinjoe5938 ,
It’s hard to get an expert to do the muddying and taping and if they didn’t do the sheet rock. They usually want to do the whole job not just one part of it. So they usually say oh you already hung all the sheet rock?? No thanks.
When my ex-brother-in-law did my ceiling, he built a flat square on the end of a 2x4, with a base on it. The 2x4 was the perfect height to hold up the sheetrock on one side while he screwed the other side up. He did the entire 22'x22' ceiling by himself.(no help required)
Working as a union painter taper and finisher for 20 plus years hanging is easy, finishing can ruin a beautiful home if not done correctly. I sure hope you hire a pro to do the finish work because it costs more to repair a bad finish then it does to have it done from raw board. And i would suggest whats called a level 5 finish it hides all seams and valleys that shine in the sun.
You can rent the drywall lifts from Home Depot
Great advice Ken Johson!
Problem is that at this point it would be weeks if not months to get someone else in to mud and tape.
You can buy one and sell it when done
@@kenjohnson5498 Pretty sure that they are finished with ceilings by now and no longer have a need for one. At the end of this video, the only ceilings they had left were the two bathrooms.
The lantern is hilarious 😂 Free the light! 💡 🤩
You both are a joy to watch. I love your interactions & humor. I'm sure your little baby is so blessed to have you both as parents. 💕
Lantern in the wall sounds like an Edgar Allen Poe story.
Nevermore, nevermore!
Trent will never pay someone to do a job he can do himself. We have the same “issue” in our house!
Is wanting to do something yourself and not pay others to do it being cheap? I am sooo cheap.
I’m the same exact way. If I can do it, I am.
The drywall over the lantern was great! Thanks for starting my morning with a little laugh. You guys are great!!
Friends were tiling around bathtub and a day after finishing they couldn't find one of their cats! Needless to say they had to remove some of the tile so kitty could get out!
Let's get the taping and mudding subbed out. Let's take a vote. Maybe contributions ... Come on Trent. This is one of the toughest parts of parenting. Sticking to original decisions. And Dad has to do it. This is practice. And Allie 'back him up'. It's hard being at the top. Good job Trent and Bryan on the drywall. What are you two going to do when the cabin is done? Any scoops? Have a good week. Blessings
Tongue and groove is s great idea! My cousin also got fed up with drywall and did the ceilings with tongue and groove at his "tiny" house and it is beautiful!
Since it wasn't actually answered for Allie: The reason you do the ceilings first is you want that sheetrock to go all the way to the edges and then it "sits" on top of the wall sheets, giving the ceiling more support and less potential for cracking/sagging.
That's not it. Ceiling need to go up first because there usually is only about 1/2"to 3/4" nail base along the top of the walls that are parallel to the joists. If you hang the walls first, there won't be an nail base to screw in the ceiling drywall along that edge.
@@guytech7310 it’s both.
I agree with you both, Sam & Tech Guy
@@sarahfitby6027 He'd never!
You should stagger your drywall joints to prevent cracking over the entire ceiling.
Trent, seems to me that owning up to drywalling a LIT lantern would be the better part of valor, rather than letting Allie take all the blame for it.
Indeed! But Trent has shown less than valorous behavior on several occasions in the past, both in the home build and when they were on the road. It is a character trait. Just as it is a character trait for Allie to quietly (at least on camera) appease him.
@@GMorgan224 I believe Allie is the appeaser. When any little thing goes wrong she will be the one who takes all the blame and try and fix it. She will believe it's all her fault and if she could just be more perfect and get things right then there wouldn't be a problem. It's classic she will continue to take all the blame and Trent most likely reinforces this to Allie. Bless her she is a beautiful, intelligent, talented girl. I am sure she thinks the baby will fix it too. I am sure Trent's mother could, if she would, tell you that baby Trent didn't fix it. Where is Trent's Dad by the way? X
@@GMorgan224 Well said G Morgan.
Give yourself a break and alternate difficult and easy things. This gives satisfaction and takes the pressure off. 👍
We had a 24 foot cathedral ceiling of knotty pine and supporting logs. Builder did work. Since y'all have a deadline, I would opt to have a contractor finish the sheetrock and painting. You will not regret it. Love following your videos! daily!
I laughed so hard when that lantern came out the wall I probably startled my neighbors!
Me too! From the description I thought it was small with almost no light, but that thing was huge! 😂
After reading several comments it seems to me that if you want to make your time schedule, it would be smarter to hire someone. I think Trent will stick it out out of sheer stubbornness and determination. Great job guys!
Its the RED HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your life will be so much easier if you hire someone to mud and tape. It will be done so fast that way. WELL worth the cost
@@missmartylynn Trent is a dad already ☺️
You two continue to amaze! Your videos will be so encouraging to other young couples who want to build their own home. Bravo for toughing through all the little glitches and difficulties. And the best part is how you do it all with such good natured cheerfulness. I totally love watching your program!
You two are so good together. Love watching the videos. I can see your tummy growing... so fun!!
My sister drywalled her cat into a bathroom renovation a few years ago. It took a couple of hours to discover the mistake. The cat was only mildly annoyed, but my sister was traumatized.
Since the cat was fine... that is really really funny!!!! "Hey! Have you seen snowball? .... Oh crap! "
Omg ! I would have been traumatized also. Glad the kitty was ok.
😂
I,m laughing so hard! So, anyone see the cat?? Opps
Omg 😆
There's a baby coming!!!! Hire a drywall crew to mud, tape and sand. They can do it in a couple days. You three should go to the spa! God bless!
They said last video all the companies are booked out for months and they don't have that kind of time to wait
Are you paying for it? And where would they get a crew during the construction season? If you listen to what they are saying in the videos they have already addressed all this.
Lack of early step by step planning has plagued this build from the beginning. It's all developed in Trent's head as they go along. Fortunately, for the most part, Trent has a good brain in his head. In addition, the pandemic really complicated so many things.
Allie is the cutest pregnant lady :')
Yea! Another day of accomplishments!!!
Always leave a time capsule for a future person to find behind the drywall! Believe me, it's a total thrill for someone else remodeling or changing drywall!!!
I absolutely loved finding things people left in walls when I did remodeling!
Tongue and groove will look gorgeous on the ceiling!
It will look great though having installed hundreds of linear feet of it I can attest to the fact that most of the boards aren't straight which makes hammering them into the grooves a real pain . They will need 2 guys up on scaffolding to install it.
When stocking ur drywall stand it up on a wall it would make it easier to cut plus easier on ur back
It could buckle or bend
Less floor space to trip on. Spread it out, you can warp your floor... go across joists not parallel.
@@tinybubbles263 , not that easily (especially 5/8). Pros cut on edge unless it’s a very complicated cut.
@@bbranett2188 if a dozen sheets of Sheetrock warp your subfloor, you have much bigger issues. (;
@@tinybubbles263 The pros stand it up on site. It can't possibly be a big deal.
When my g/f wants me to do something on her house complicated - or should be done right the 1st time - I just play her Trent videos - and she smiles - and says ok … we’re hiring professionals!!! 😆
So impressed ~ with your work ethic, respect and sweet relationship! Bravo!
Use construction glue to hang drywall. Won't need that many screws to hang the drywall. This is so much enjoyment watching the building. Love the adventures!
My husband was a sheetrocker - I'd hire it and the mudding done if I were you.
It wasn't Allie's fault Trent! Dang. Keep this up and you will have bigger problems down the road.
On Trent's defense however, he looks so tired and he has taken on such an astronomical project. I don't know how he keeps going.
Kudos to everyone!
LOL, we remodeled a turn of the century house that had been renovated in the 60's and we found a Mr. Frostie rootbeer can entombed in the stud cavity haha. Insulation? Nah we don't need no insulation, we will just use newspaper, we found tons of that too, haha. Maybe you leave a time capsule of sorts in a wall for fun :)
We kinda did that when we redid our floor in our old house, but we (the whole family) wrote a message for the new owners after us that we were blessed to get this house and they would be too!! I wonder if anyone has ever found it!!
My mom got one of those skeletons from Home Depot during Halloween and put it in the crawlspace for future people to find.
Actually, newspaper was used for insulation and it worked really well:)
@@beckycrump8831 That’s hilarious!
We had to tear out the bathroom wall on our rental to have old plumbing repaired. I wrote a nice long note on the 2x4 I used to give the replacement sheetrock backing at the joint. It's fun to think about someone in the distant future re-opening that wall & reading the note - almost as much fun as it would be to find a note from the past.
A few tense moments but what you are doing is phenomenal ! Don't forget that! I imagine the bigger the baby bump gets the higher the pressure to complete the house. You guys are doing GREAT!☮️
Y'all work so hard. Trent is so smart and hardworking. And you are still glowing Ally. you look beautiful. Y'all are going to have a beautiful home and a beautiful baby I can't wait y'all take care
