Great video! I taught myself how to sew. The first major thing I have sewn by hand was a Druid robe that took me about a month to sew. Not just a plain robe, but with borders and patterns. I’m thinking of making my own rucksack/haversack.
WELSBY ROOTS You’re welcome. I’m going to make it from material from the top cover of a gazebo so it will have some waterproof properties. The rest of the material I’ll be making a tarp.

Good job. I was looking for this bag and my machine just broke. Guess what I'm going to make using your pattern. Thanks. I do mostly leather work and now i have an avenue to keep working to build inventory for our yearly festival. Thanks man. Feel free to hit me back. I can make tool holder or sheaths. I like to barter.

Glad you enjoyed the video and I hope it works out for you!
Is there any reason not to wax the haversack material before you sew it?
I would so no, you could wax it before hand.
@@WELSBYROOTS thank you for the quick response. I’m just beginning down this road and there are so many opinions to consider.
@@cecsmith1 No problem, I try hard to respond to everyone. thanks for watching!

@@WELSBYROOTS Thank you for uploading this, because I was wanting to and this video was very informative and helpful.
Wax? Where do you get wax for cloth?
any wax will do...I prefer bees wax. Thanks for commenting.
Really great video. One bit of constructive criticism, try focusing on not saying “um” so much.
