    FOR LESS EXPERIENCED PEOPLE WATCHING THIS VIDEO: Do not underestimate some of the runs he does, they may not look steep but that’s because of the go:pro and camera angle, most runs that he shows are in reality pretty steep and with difficult terrain, so if you are not very experienced dont try these runs. be safe:)

      Agreed! I say all the time...the GoPro makes everything look less steep but moving faster than it feels.

    I’ve skied Mach 1 quite a few times and never saw it that smooth. It was bump nirvana and like Highline and Rodger’s Run at Vail some of the best mogul runs in Colorado.

    As I said in another one of your videos, I will probably be sitting out skiing for life because of a messed-up knee, but I do enjoy watching your videos. They give me good memories. I live near St Louis now, but when my husband was stationed in Ft Lewis, WA I used to go to Crystal Mtn when it was a locals' mountain and then Snoqualmie Summit off of I-90. I especially liked Crystal because it had a lot of green and blue cruising runs. For me skiing was always a form of relaxation, and you'd probably never catch me on a black diamond.

      I'm glad you enjoy the channel! I hope to start posting a lot of new videos soon. I uploaded one last night, previewed it this morning, and the audio was not synced properly. So, I'm working on it again now.

    Thanks for posting! From the chair lift it looks crazy steep but the video makes it not look so bad! I’m still gonna assume it’s really steep but I’ve always wanted to try Mach 1, headed to Breck tomorrow we’ve got great snow so far!

      The wide angle of the GoPro seems to make everything look less steep than it feels. If you try to keep where the horizon is in mind, it helps when using these videos to get a sense of steepness.

      Thanks! I've shot a few videos from a snowboard. But shooting on skis is easier. I might try getting back on a board for some this coming season now that I have the alien-cam.

      This is one of the lower angle doubles at Breck. Worst thing about it are the obstacles that don’t usually get covered completely until late winter.

    • @ahastar1141
      @ahastar1141 3 роки тому

      @@PhaseSkater I think it's usually an issue unless the filmer shows a wider view of the run from a drone / adjacent slope or shows the run from the bottom looking up. I checked out some of your videos and while yours show it better, I can see where people could be fooled into thinking a slope looks much tamer on youtube than it really is.

      It really just depends on the day. This is one where fresh snow and wind often smooth out the bumps. I usually like Mach 1 best in the spring when the sun keeps it soft.

      From his camera angle, you can't really tell if it is very steep or not. because you basically parallel to the slope

      Breckenridge actually seems to have easier runs than most other resorts in the area, in my experience. (the average double diamond in brick would be about the same as a black in keystone or vail.) However, some of the double diamond under the lift runs in breck can be pretty hard in deep snow, about matching if not exceeding the average double diamond in most resorts. As said by others, the gopro makes everything look less steep, and i’m not sure what kind of conditions this guy was skiing it in, but i’ve never seen the moguls this shallow.

      The last time I skied Mach 1 was in the 80s. It was like skiing on Volkswagen Bugs. Though short, it was steep and relatively narrow. I was alway terrified I'd lose control and launch into the trees. I seem to recall that 200 or longer skis were required to enter. Even the ancient chairlift that used to run along side of it was harrowing.
