No one quite knows what it's like to be Bruce Banner. Turning into a monster can be pretty stressful (especially when the monster is brought about by stress itself), but we all experience it to some degree. If you've ever been in a fight for your life, a passionate debate or even a traffic jam, you might have noticed you're a bit more energetic than usual. Your body might be capable of more than you think! But only if you get angry first. The downside is that we mere mortals are still limited by our flesh and bone. What happens if you take that away? What if your body is flowing with gamma radiation instead of adrenaline and there's plenty to go around? Will you ever stop getting stronger?! And if so, when? Strap in your multiple identities as we take a look at psychology, biology, and the meaning behind emotion to finally figure out how strong the Hulk can get!

Yes, I know siphoning that much gamma radiation from the surrounding environment would be near impossible without use of something like a worm hole or pocket dimension. I also know reverting back into Bruce Banner from Hulk form would level any nearby cities, but this just the only explanation I have, so it's what I've gotta go with. Carver6661313 It was an impressive show of strength that she admitted in interviews she should not be capable of doing. Yet she did it without even straining because she was experiencing an adrenaline burst designed to make humans stronger when survival is on the line. It was incredibly relevant to the overall point about anger and its purpose.
She didn't lift the entire truck, just part of it on the ground was tilted back. This is not even close to 3 tons weight. It is still impressive, but their are female power lifters who could have lifted this. It is far more impressive for by this untrained girl.

He’s done some incredible feats in comics the one thing I always hear is “The angrier he gets the stronger he gets” that just makes me wanna believe he has no limit.

Very, very well said. When I was in my 20's I used to argue that the Hulk had a limit. I'm a Hulk fan, I read my first Hulk comic in 1970. I have always wondered why he was so powerful, but it wasn't only rage. The gamma bomb that gave him his power opened the Gammaverse for the hulk to draw strength. His rage was a conduit but no one can stay pissed off forever. There are other gamma powered beings but only the Hulk can tap into it's essence.

The Hulk doesn't get stronger only by getting angry, he also gets stronger if his cells feed on gamma radiation. You spoke of a "limit", but Maestro (a future version of Hulk) kept absorbing radiation for many years without problems. He eventually got much stronger than his former self. I don't think we ever saw the limits of Maestro's strength, but he could potentially be even stronger than World Breaker.

You have a major hole in your analysis. You said that there is a limit to his anger and that after he hits this limit then he will become apathetic and therefore revert back to his Bruce Banner state. But earlier in the video you stated that he has multiple personality disorder and the Hulk is one of his personalities. The hole is that when someone has multiple personality disorder they can remain in one personality for a uncertain amount of time before their personalities switch back. So are the duration of his transformations based on his anger or his mental disorder?

The duration of his transformations are based mainly on his mental disorder, but triggering his anger or fear tends to trigger his other personality. Contrary to popular belief, the Hulk is not _always_ angry. He can be calm or even happy at times, but anger makes him stronger.
The thing about Hulk is he also has a healing factor. That healing factor can keep regenerating cells almost indefinitely so it can also keep regenerating dopamine and adrenaline almost indefinitely.
The problem here is that like you said his opponent must keep being recognised as a threat. If you keep punching something that doesn't punch you back that's not a threat for example his fight against superman. Hulk also can be knocked out which will calm him down by default.

hulk isn't only field by anger. desperation, fear, or physical pain increases adrenaline which increases his powers. As long as something pushes his limits he will continue to become more powerful so he litters let has no limit as long as he survives to surpass his opponent.
all you mentioned hear, couses adrenaline, and adrenaline makes hulk stronger. and there is no limitless adrenaline. the thing that makes hulks heart beat faster, makes hulk stronger.

I agree, we also see it in marvel movies. For example in Civil war Cap defeated Iron man only by punching him. Logicaly this would never happend acording to previous movies but director wanted to Cap be more powerful. So every hero is such strong how director or witter wants.

While it is true that all characters are as strong as the writer wants them to be, they all do have to be relative to each other based on Character development. Hence in comic book stories, Captain America will always be stronger then the average person. Spiderman will always be stronger then Captain America, and the Hulk will always be stronger then Spiderman. Yes, If a writer wanted to, he could just write it so average Joe Blow is stronger then the Hulk, but it would make for a terrible story and kill all credibility of the character. But if the writer is trying to keep things in perspective within the comic book world, they will try to adhere to certain boundaries based on the basic premise of the characters themselves. If they say the Hulk has virtually unlimited strength, then the writer has more freedom to use his imagination. If they say Spiderman can lift about 10 tons, then the writer, if he is any good, will or should write accordingly. If he tries to lift 25 tons, he should struggle until Hulk comes by and lifts it for him.

And forgot that the Hulk's rage is far from normal. It *literally* has no limits. He's written that way with Banner holding him back. Though Hulk, while literally anger incarnate, cares about not hurting innocents. So that also holds him back.

Well, unfortunately, there is no way for me to properly estimate the full force of an attack based on the destruction caused by its shockwaves alone unless I have _much_ more information than a comic will provide. All I can say for certain is that since shockwaves are only a fraction of the main force and they get weaker as they move away from the center, the Hulk is capable of destroying much, _much_ more than a planet if pushed.

You have to remember that the hulk is different in many different ways from regular humans, first and foremost in that he is fictitious. That being said, if the author wrote that anger makes him stronger by causing him to absorb gamma radiation, then there could also be further attributes to his special condition which simply have not been mentioned in writing. So, he could have superhuman abilities such as "unlimited anger stamina" or "exponential anger stacking and retention" which comics have simply never mentioned. It's all up to the authors.
The Hulk doesn't have a limit. I remember during a time when He was in his gray phase, which is his weakest version on the onset, it was stated that the bulk gets stronger the angrier he gets, And there has NEVER been a limit to how angry the Hulk can get. I've since seen this stated several other times in the comics. Basically, if the weakest version has no limits, neither does the green child-like one or the greenscar/windbreaker variants. The only one that had a limit was the professor/merged Hulk and I believe he was hypnotized to revert back to Banner if his anger got too out of control. Even the smart Hulk of the Secret wars, which was the hulk's body with Banners intelligence was capable of holding up that 150,000,000,000 ton mountain that was THROWN at him and the other heroes by the Molecule Man. And he only managed that feat ultimately because Reed Richards insulted him and !are him angry. Apparently as strong as he was at the time, he could catch it, but his rational side couldn't continue to hold the weight up without anger.
All of the points you've made in this video are valid, but it's pretty well established in the comics that there's no one yet who had to deal with an increasingly-angered Hulk has lasted long enough to determine if there is any limit to how strong Hulk *can* get. The key point being that they've all either been defeated by Hulk, or they've found a way to make him understand that he's not under a threat any more.

it depends what you do with the character. it's all about how you explore your character. if you do it well then you can have a galaxy destroyer for all i care
i dont know much about goku but i guess he is also so op that people thought he could make up against the op'est of characters. So it isnt just superheros. Everything has an op character

His strength has no upper limit. He's gotten so strong he can crack planets with footsteps and he can't be killed.

By saying 'And he can't be killed' I wasn't saying he can't be killed because he got that strength. I was saying he can continually rage and draw from Universe X forever
This guy started to bore me 2 minutes in so I'm gonna figure this out with you instead. Hulk having no real limit to his strength is something I always thought since it builds on anger (however I'm not sure if there is a limit to how angry someone can be) so basically the only way to beat Hulk (in strength) and which is how he has been beaten in the past basically means that you have to apply enough strength to one shot him or else he will just get angrier? Or calm him down then apply said one shot?
Yeah pretty much. He's been thrown in a black hole thinking it would kill him via entropy but he just raged enough that he escaped by hand.
He's one shotted Sentry. He's broken Dr. Strange's hands so he couldn't perform incantations. He's stopped Juggernaut dead in his tracks.
Funnily enough maybe the ONLY character to beat him with relative ease was Superman in the crossover.
ScienceFoundation which I'm assuming superman hit him too hard before hulk could get angry enough to get on his level. Alright then so my theory on hulk is generally correct
The general consensus is that Superman only uses as much strength as he needs to so there's no real way for Hulk to get on his level because Superman has access to enough strength to lift infinity and move eternity at all times.
But yes, you have to hit Hulk hard and fast to have any chance

The thing that alot of people don't realize is Hulk can affect almost anything with his strength.He can affect time,space,reality,all types of energy etc.His ability to do those things also increases with his anger and rage.

Actually I like this video it's great , some people say that. ""oh hulk can beat anyone because he's strength is infinite and he's anger is infinite "", but even assuming hulk can be angry forever and never become apathetic, he will still need to get angrier and angrier forever until the end of time to actually have infinite strength , he would need to literally live forever and get angry for eternity to actually have infinite strength, since infinite = never ending , and the hulk can't do that because if he's opponent is massively more powerful than him , then the enemy will just defeat him or kill hulk before he gets stronger , literally no opponent will let hulk and the battle go on forever lol, so even if he's anger is infinite, hulk would have to be angry for eternity , never ending in order to actually have access to infinite strength.

No opponent will allow the battle to last forever lol, like Galactus , the celestias , embodiments like Infinity and eternity , ect. But the hulk is still cool Thought .

Charles Almqvists Oh cool. Well, considering Classic Thanos fought off Thor with the Power Gem I think he could manage. The Power Gem gives the owner access to all power and energy that ever has or will exist. So yeah, like the video said, it still takes time.

The issue is that, in the marvel universe, “soul” is literally a thing, so I don’t think it’s that much of a strain to say the brain isn’t purely chemical.

I actually identify with having an abusive father who did terrible things. He didn't kill my mother or anything that extreme, but he did cause a lot of pain to his family. I tell people he was a monster and I do feel a lot of anger inside because of how he treated us, but I have enough sense not to lash out at others, but that hasn't always been the case in the past. He was abusive physically, emotionally and psychologically, and i do struggle sometimes, but I consider myself a survivor and I strive to not be the way he was because I know I am better than that.

The grey one is called ''Joe Fixit", the green one on the top right corner is the normal and on the bottom left corner i think that that is the controlled hulk(I mean bruce banner controls him)
It's Professor Hulk. It's a somewhat douchey version of Hulk that has Banner's genius. I think it was also left handed.
Dont they classify world breaker hulk as a different hulk even though its the same exact hulk just that he is extremely pissed off.
