This is a great bike (for the price) with a cheap paint job ...I ride it every day because it's my funnest bike. The small block tires are awesome and take bumps very well. I have been riding since 1982.
I have the Saturn nine and like it a lot. I want to also get this model but in black and red. I have reservations on ordering it though because people say you get different parts than what’s advertised online. Is this true? It seems like you get Kenda tires and looks as advertised. Is it just the black model that has problems?
It seems that there were some chamges to these bikes somewhere along the way, so it's a bit of a gamble as to which version you'll receive. Mine was an earlier production date, so it matches what it shown on the Thruster website. I think you are referring to the 27.5 wheel version called the Retrograde. That one I heard often shows up with sone different parts than the wrbsite version, at least those who are in the Thruster facebook group have been reporting. Still, for $255 at mendhambikes.com, it's a good deal. On top of that, you can get another 5% off with code "comeback" there. Might be worth a chance.
A fast Ripper is a fast Ripper. You are buying it for the name and because you had or wanted a PK Ripper as a kid. The quality on this bike is going to be the same a a fast Ripper since they are both made in China and when I found out the new PK Ripper's were made in China . I went out and bought the S&M Covid Cruiser Made in the USA No way I am paying full price for China stuff. If I am paying full price I am buying American. ....Also look at Johnny True Torch he has some badass bike Made in USA!
These aren't designed for that type of riding. Some of these bikes do have a weaker aluminum handlebar that I've heard about a few instances of breakage. Kent/Thruster is pretty good about replacing them under warranty with the stronger cromoly steel bar.
Kent bought the company that's a old BMX company that went under they just bought the company back what is the owners but Walmart is a second party dealer and the Walmart version does not come with the correct parts you can buy the p bike shop versions the bike is 1100 originally if you buy it from Walmart that's the factory version and it's not made with the best pause directions to BMX was from the early seventies late 80s kent just bought the company they are repop and you can also buy them with better parts from the bike shop they have two versions all the models are old models that they have reissued I have a thresher 24 from the early eighties it's a survivors in good condition thank you
i just ordered mine today i plan on upgrading it i use to do BMX late 70s,80s it will be more for nostalgic reasons i am 59

I bought one of these 2-3 weeks ago and it’s different Has Black cranks and gusset with hole in frame, handlebars different color and shape
@@TK-OK You have one of the later production bikes where they changed some things. I believe your handlebars are aluminum whereas mine are steel.
@@aaronbehindbars 👍 I would have preferred the early version like yours instead of the latest
@@aaronbehindbarsis it really the newer version im having a hard time believing it mine came looking how he described it and it says made 2021

My brother has one he took it off a 3 foot drop and like 5 mins after his bars just snapped
His is a 2021 model and came with aluminum bars

I'm gonna buy it but do you think I can put pegs on it?
I think you can put them on the rear. The fork probably doesn't have enough room around the axle for pegs to fit without hitting the fork legs.
@@aaronbehindbars aight thanks
