I’ve recently become the owner of a T4. The hand brake cable was frayed. Your video very clear and concise. PS being skinny I shimmied underneath without ramps, etc 😁
Wonderful video. Really clear and concise. Thanks pal. Replaced my cable (snapped) today. Also managed to slide under without ramps but would have been more comfortable with im sure. £7 from ebay!
Please could you clarify whether the handbrake should be up or down when you're putting the nut back on? I got a bit lost when you were talking about notches. Did you mean pulled up by three clicks? Great video by the way!
@@jakestokes2203do you have a link please buddy? Want to have a go at this myself but don’t want to buy a bad copy of the cable itself (I’ve been quoted £45 by my former vw classics employer!). Thanks
95%.... Working on a 2003. Little bit different but mostly the same. Instead of two 13 mm nuts at the handbrake in the car it was three. Had to cut the carpet back. Very helpful video otherwise

The front cable and adjuster is a vw part only. Ordered from my local vw dealership think cost about 30 quid

How did you get the spring on? I ordered a new one and it’s way too stif
Back off the adjustable nut at the end of the thread should give u enough slack
Tried to get a cable from VW today. The part is no longer available from them.
Damn.. unfortunately the buses are getting to the age where manufacturers are no longer stocking parts.....
eBay has them. After market but fit well. I've just done mine. Cost £7 including delivery!
