Good to here man. I'm 18, T1D of 7 years, good to know as long as I take care of myself I can live that long. I was scared that even if I did take care of myself I wasn't going to make it to atleast 50 so thank you. As for being a teenager in this millenia and worrying what people were thinking of me I've just accepted it and moved on. Thank you, again.

@@mahinurrahman1334 You may want to go to Facebook, where you can join different groups of T1 Diabetic, or Type 2... Here are a couple; Type 1 Diabetic Adults, (T1s only), Juicebox Podcast: Type 1 Diabetes, TypeOneNormal, Typeonegrit Also, get the book, by Dr. Bernstein entitled; "The Diabetes Solution." He is also on UA-cam! There are many others in UA-cam as well. They also have "how-two", instructions for devices, ie. Dexcoms, etc. I hope this helps! I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on May 17th 2004 at age 14. I was actually quite relieved that it "only" was type 1 diabetes. I thought I was dying of cancer or something. I almost went into a coma, and eventually spent 10 days in the hospital after being taken there with an ambulance.
Remember to take care of yourself - it's a dangerous illness if you don't!

Heman Rocks Type 1 diabetes can’t be cured, because it’s a complete absence of endogenous insulin. That doesn’t just come back due to diet. Type 1 isn’t treated with pills either, but insulin injections. Diet is a big part in treating all types of diabetes, though.

I'm sharing this everywhere I can! See below:
Diabetes type 1 and 2 can be cured. So Say the experts.
2 Canadian Doctors that work at 'Sick Kids' hospital are neuro scientists. They have discovered before 2006 that concentrated capsaicin from Chilies injected into pancreatic organs of rats with diabetes type 1, had their diabetes REVERSED within 24 hours. You can google 'Dr Michael Dosch and Capsaicin'. In 2006 they 'carefully' made known to the public that they were totally amazed at what they had found! One single high dose of Capsaicin awakened or activated the Pancreatic nervous system and it started producing Insulin AGAIN. Dr Dosch didn't elaborate..... I wrote to him and still waiting for his reply....
In the Philipines around 5 years ago, Dr. Jaime Dy-Liacco, Doctor of Metabolic Medicine, an 82 year old, told the public (free of charge) that Chillies and Sea salt mixed together in high
dose can reverse Diabetes. He explains that Diabetes can be reversed when you fix the mineral deficiencies such as Zn, Chromium, Vanadium, Manganese, Germanium, and copper.
If you google these trace minerals separately and look at PUBMED scientific research papers you'll see lots of evidence proving that these trace minerals are Crucial for Glucose tolerance, enzymatic reactions and the body's hormonal system.
Different people might have different deficiencies. Even Lithium plays a crucial role in glucose metabolism, and there are others like Mg etc etc...
Putting it all together, this is what you can do:
Take about 300g of Red spicy chilli. Cut into small pieces and put it in a sterilised GLASS jar. Cover with 20% Alcoholic Rice wine. The wine will Extract the Spicy Capsaicim. Add about 5 Table Spoons of UNREFINED ORGANIC SEA SALT (which contains about 80 + natural minerals with trace minerals that are really hard to find in today's diet and drinking water. Cover and Place in warm place. In about 7 days time, you can consume use 1 table spoon of this liquid several times a day with a little food and water. I'd do this for about about 7-14 days and repeat the recipe if necessary. Monitor your glucose level after the 1st 24 hours and every day afterwards.
In addition to this I will Make a green leafy Smoothie with 2 Table Spoons of Assorted Seeds, like Pumpkin seeds (high in ZN and Mg), Sunflower, seeds, Flax seeds, Sesame seeds, Poppy seeds (high in Chromium) and Fennel Seeds, with a couple of bananas for taste. Take this at least 2ce daily.
      * The 1st recipe will activate your Pancreatic Nerves. And the Sea SALT will Supply Missing TRace elements to restore Pancreatic Cellular Function.
      * The 2nd recipe will help Supplement additional NATURAL concentrated trace minerals to your daily diet.
Do NOT TAKE artificial Supplements. It can be dangerous and upset the delicate Homeostatic Mineral Balance and make your condition worse.
Eat a diet hight in Whole unrefined Plant-Based Foods, with plenty of Spices and Herbs for additional minerals.
Avoid Milk, Wheat, Soy, Peanuts and unrefined processed foods and sugars that serve as ANTI-Nutrients and block your body's ability to absorb vitamins and minerals.
Stop and reduce all forms of medications and drugs that interfere with Mineral absorption. Look for natural alternatives and home remedies.
Supplement with 3g Sodium Ascorbate (VitC) every 4-6 hours , and 5 g of Mg Chloride every 6 hours. This will drastically reduce Intra-Cellular Inflammation and allow Pancreatic Cells to regenerate Faster. If you experience loose bowels, this will be normal, but if it continues after 3 days or so, reduce the dosage of VIT C and Mg.
      Bless you!!! Get well!

I got type 1 diabetes when I was 8 almost 5 years ago, It’s been rough through the past few years, especially middle school. My friends would want to have sleepovers with me every weekend but my parents didn’t want to worry about my blood sugar every time so I wasn’t able to go a lot and I felt so left out. I’m currently going to be going in 8th grade soon, and yes I’m nervous for high school, I know it’s going to be hard but I’ll try to get through it as best as I can. But anyone who has gotten type 1 it’s going to be okay.

    • @insertpseudonym5311

managing sleepovers with t1d can be really hard, i feel you 😞 do you have a cgm by any chance? i have a dexcom, and while i haven’t had any sleepovers in a minute, it was super helpful in taking care of my blood sugar whenever i was away from home overnight.
in terms of going into high school, if you live in the us, i would highly *highly* recommend looking into a 504 plan if you don’t already have one. my family and my school counselors have a meeting every year to make sure i have the right accommodations to be able to manage my blood sugar in class, during standardized testing, etc. it’s a legal document that basically states your rights and any procedures for managing t1d at school. it really makes it so much easier when dealing with teachers who would otherwise make you put your pump/phone/meter away when you need it, and i wish i could have had a 504 plan in place sooner. also, if you’re at all nervous about standing out when you have to test/bolus/correct/etc.: i’ve definitely been there, and it does feel awkward sometimes. but taking care of yourself is so much more important than fitting in. your needs take priority. if you need to eat or give insulin during class, you have that right. your friends and classmates should respect that.
tl;dr: having t1d as a student can be really challenging and it’s definitely a lot more responsibility than a lot of kids have to deal with, but having the right technology and documents to help you can make it so much easier. i hope you’re doing well and that the transition from middle to high school goes well for you- stay safe + take care! 💛

      Im south African too!!!!
Get well!

The thing that really saved my life, I had to stop acting like a diabetic. I had to act like sugar levels didntt affect me mentally, and they stopped affecting me. Most of the bs I dealt with as a kid, same for you probably, is what doctors and parents told you a diabetic acts like and you adopted those behaviors. Maybe not, but i did until I didn’t.

A few months ago I started drinking a lot of water. I started to feel tired and sick, but I didn’t think anything off it. I needed to pee a lot, even while I was making my exams.
1 month ago I couldn’t eat anything anymore and i threw up a lot. My mom wanted to being me to the hospital, but I didn’t want to because I thought I just had a flu. A few days later I still couldn’t eat anything and whe I layed down I could feel my bones sticking out. I had lost a lot of weight in the past months.
After looking at the dark circles around my eyes and my face that looked like it was made out of only skin and bones. I decided to go to the doctor. When we arived at the hospital, the doctor saw me and said I needed to get on the IV and that I would stay at the hospital for at least a week.
I got diagnosed with diabetes type 1 and now I only weighted 50 kilos (I am a 17 year 6’4 old boy)
After sleeping 4 nights in the hospital the docors said I could leave and that they had never seem someone in my condition that could leave the hospital so early.
The first day home I decided to think about the positive side. I could use this oppertunity to change my live in a good way. I started eating a lot (healthy food) and I started lifting daily.
Right now 4 weeks after I got hospitalized I gained 15 kilos (from 50 to 65) and my face doesn’t look skinny any more. I can see muscle starting to form in my chest and I feel good.
In april I turn 18 years old and my goal is to reach 70 kilos before my birthday and keep on going to the gym daily. I also want to go to college next school year and get my business administration degree.

I was six years old it was incredibly hard on me, though I don't member much about it ( and I'm kind of glad I don't) it changed my life... forever, it's so hard especially the teasing about type two even though at the exact opposite of what I have

This may sound strange from a complete stranger but I am proud of you! I was 13 when I was diagnosed with T1D.. that was 27 years ago. Still feels like yesterday honestly. My story was much like yours. I felt ashamed and different and many other negative emotions. But those were a lie. Once I realized who I was and am I have lived and still live an amazing full life. I take full responsibility for my health and making healthy choices for myself but also for my family. I now have two amazing kids 4 and 7. They know that I have to take medicine and watch what I eat, and exercise. But they also know their dad had a mountain in front of him when he was a kid just like they may have growing up and I decided to fight and win every day, one day at a time. So I say to you and everyone else who has been challenged to fight. Fight to win and don’t give up. I will be in your corner cheering you on!...

hey there my friend, i hope you’re doing well! here’s an early congrats on your anniversary- not that that kind of diagnosis is necessarily great, but i like to think of it as having survived another year with t1d 😊
i know it’s a big adjustment, and it can be really emotionally and physically taxing. i’m super proud of you for being so strong and for getting through this year of new and unforeseen challenges. (and during a pandemic! look at you, making things happen! that’s awesome!)
best wishes for you for the future, and i hope everything is going well. take care of yourself and stay safe out there! 💛

Heyy so I'm a Canadian girl who has had the T1D for 11 years now... any good tips for when it's really starting to feel hopeless again? Like just keeping my sugars below 13 is getting annoying to me, and I'm starting to feel like I'm getting random pains in my body that are kinda freaking me out, but I'm terrified of actually finding out there's something wrong with me... plus I've recently moved to a small town with no endocrinologist. So whoops... any advice??

Since you're Canadian. Listen to this!
Get well!

I was diagnosed with T1D March 26th 2018 my moms birthday. I woke up and felt sick I told my mom I didnt feel good she said to eat I went to grab a bagel and when I went to get the cream cheese and passed out my mom got really scared and woke up 2 seconds later and I ran to the bathroom and threw up a lot my mom called an ambulance and there glucometer wasnt working my mom and I didnt think anything of it because they said it was common in teens to do this with a lot of stress but just to be sure my mom took me to the doctor a lot of things run in are family and my mom just wanted to be sure I went to the doctor gave blood (I hate needles) and peed in a cup and left no glucometer was used my mom and i continued with our day and i still didnt feel good we went to the bank and then my mom took us out to eat we ate out at Olive Garden on our way home we had a miss call from my doctor he said "You need to get the the emergency room right now, if you dont get there soon you could die." He said that to a 12 year old girl! I was freaking out I always joked about dieing and how I didnt care but when he said that I broke down my mom called my aunt and I packed a few things as I'm freaking out. I've moved a lot in my life and have always hated it. But I've always had a stuffed animal sense birth and it reminds me of my brother bc he stayed with his dad along with his brother there're my half brothers we have different dads. But I rushed to the ER and they had me in the waiting room for 1 hour and 30 minutes at this point I'm think I'm going to die any second but here i am i dont really take good care of myself i eat early 2 meals a day and my blood sugars stay better without eating and I'm hoping it'll help me lose wait but bc I dont have a dad when we moved again my uncle became a really big father figure to me I can see him going off on a boyfriend and telling him to treat me with respect most kids hate that but it's all I've ever wanted but hes getting Deployed in March or May they changed it, it used to be in January but they pushed it back for more training and I'm worried I'm going to get separation anxiety and it's all to much for my 14 year old life

Sounds like me 19 years ago. It's hard to believe in March this coming year 2019. I would have LIVED with T1D for 20 years. So much new technology has come out. I am now on the Tslim with the G6 which I love been a month with out checking my BG by my fingers just the sensor and I'm loving it so much. I just hope sometime in my lifetime there will be a cure.
