Recently I have been wondering what would happen if we were to record the sounds without showing the exhaust. This would remove any brand favoritism biases and just let the viewers focus on sound. maybe for the next video we will do a two part release, doing a sound comparison between four exhausts without revealing which one is which, and in the second installment showing which exhaust produced which sound. What do you guys think.

And a can I think would be interesting to include in testing is the werkes cans.... they seem pretty competitive but the Toce would still beat them I think....

ANYONE that has heard a yoshimura in person knows that it sounds 100x sexier than it does in this video. Its deep at idle and screams at high rpms. By far one of the best sounding exhausts out there!

Toce sounds the best in my opinion for this bike.
Mark, I ordered my exhaust from TST Industries almost (2) years ago and am still in love with the exhaust notes. Definitely an eargasm every time I ride. Since then I added a K&N air filter, PCV and custom tune to my 2012 CBR 600RR and the exhaust sounds even better now. I didn't think it was possible and people always admire the bike and it's sound. Your video is good, but doesn't match the Toce Exhaust's full sound in person. I've seen one other CBR600 bike in Northern CA with the Toce exhaust and mine down in Southern CA. So glad I ordered this exhaust!
It is great to hear that we have a customer whose satisfaction with products we sold grew with time. You did it right man. We always recommend doing the filter, fuel management, and a proper tune. This is the only way to get the most out of your investment. It's also great to hear that the sound improved with all those additional mods. The Toce exhaust does in fact sound better in real life. Capturing sound, even with a high quality shotgun mic, compressing it to play on UA-cam, and then reproducing it on the viewer's speakers will yield in lowered audio fidelity. The video was really meant to compare the four exhausts as best as possible, holding the fidelity of the audio constant.
I had the only other 600RR with a Toce in socal I suppose :) Took the bike out to Alabama since I'm here for work. I'm not complaining though cause I'm about half hour from the Barber Motorsports park hehe

Nice. I used to have a CBR600RR with Dual Arrow Exhaust when I was in China. Whole city recognized me just due to the sound of those dual pipes ;) even Police knew who was riding out there at nights :D

+Kayel Raices Right on man. I personally don't like the baffles out because even after the bike is shut off it leaves a hum in my brain. Many people like it though, and the ability to take the baffles out and put them back in makes this exhaust unique.

IMO the 12' cbr 600rr is the best looking of the cbr's. The color schemes with the red and white and the white wheels looks so clean. Then you add the toce exhaust and its beautiful.

To me I love the sound of the TOCE exhaust it sounds mean! I have a '09 CBR600rr with the Yoshi RS5 and its pretty nice but doesn't sound as nice as the TOCE

We have a closed street where we do videos and being that I have to do exhaust hot swaps in between takes in hot Florida sun I won't be doing things to overheat my body. If they are more entertained by watching people wear protective gear they should watch my track and race videos and leave the exhaust sound clip alone.
It just rubbed me the wrong way, you are literally doing all this labor of switching out 4 different exhausts just so people can know the difference for FREE. But yet people have the audacity to call you an "idiot" for not wearing a helmet for traveling 100 feet.

Excellent and comprehensive video TST! All the exhausts were great, but I liked the Yoshimura and Toce exhausts the most! Too bad the sounds of these amazing exhausts are lost in translation, or in this case, to my computer speakers.
+kyb2005 Thanks buddy. Unfortunately there is no way to reproduce recorded sound with 100% fidelity. We did try to do an even comparison by recording all the four exhaust sounds in the same conditions with the same equipment.
I think the Toce and Yoshi sounds the best. I have the RS-5 on my CBR and this video didn't do it justice.

i have the Yoshimura RS-5 on my 06 CBR600RR and its a hell of a lot louder than the one on this video!! mines nice and deap at lower rpms then screams when I get up on it.
Once a glass packed muffler is in service for several years the packing breaks down and it becomes louder. The one in our video had about 1000 miles on it so the packing was pretty fresh.

TSTindustries oh mines full, I didn't know you only had slip ons in this video. I've got a quick little video on my page of it, has a nice deep rumble but still screams when I get on it.
Understood. This video was only showing the sounds of aftermarket slip-on units. We will be doing a dyno comparison video of all of these exhausts plus a couple others. That episode will likely launch in the not so distant future. This is truly just to give our viewers a deeper look into the different sounds and any possible performance gains you may get out of a slip-on unit.
I don't know if it's just me but he yoshi sounded a lot like like the stock exhaust.
close, yoshi is much louder in person. also a bit crisper sounding then all of them, especially at higher rpm. Toce is very raspy, reminds me of italian bikes.
my RS-5 crackled in my ear so loud with ear plugs in that I had to put a silencer in it.

1. We are in a desolate area in a state where helmets are not required. We had to do quick swaps on a hot exhaust in 90 degree weather between shots. Putting on and removing safety gear only to take the bike a half a block in either direction was not practical.
2. We installed the exhausts how they come from the factory. If you notice, we did not remove the baffles from the Toce, even though that is possible.
TSTindustries it would be nice to hear how they sound without db's. but good job guys, keep it up!
+FJCharlie We may revisit this project when we amass more types of exhausts. At that point we will take shots with and without dB killers. Keep those suggestions coming. It will make future videos better if we have a better understanding of what you guys want to watch.

If you propose the right conditions I think the Toce guys may be able to build you something. You would have to be close enough to Connecticut to physically show up at the shop.
I wish you guys would do more everyday revs, like similar to throttle blipping or small revs. Holding the throttle down just sounds like shit and makes you look like an idiot. It would also be cool to see your normal acceleration and not such an aggressive takeoff. Every exhaust sounds loud and deep/high when your doing shit like that

Yeah I like the toce but I have a Yoshi on my cbr. Never regretted choosing Yoshi either.
I think arrow is by far the best exhaust choice for everything that comes from Japan, especially when it comes to Yamahas (FJR1300).

toce sounded and looked the best in my opinion, the yoshi and leo seemed to bulky and quiet
Yoshimura and Leo Vince are actually comparable to the Toce in mass but the Toce definitely excels in sound and tone. If we were to take out the dB killer from the Leo it would get louder but only Toce has that signature sound of deep mellow bass with nice deceleration rumble.
Leo Vince and Toce sounded Noice as hell.
I'm tellin ya man, Yoshimura is the breathtaking one 😍 But Toce is great equally. But that Leo Vince has really got a soothing sound. I liked it a lot. It has deep sound engineering as Benelli. 💗

In the next video, I agree that you should black the screen out. But you should also show the sound decibels and the dyno performance chart. Toce sounds amazing! The only thing holding me back is not knowing the actual performance.

It definetly reaches that high scream that a high rev 600rr can produce. To me, they did not stretch the gears out with the yoshi on the bike, which is misleading. Just my opinion. All those exhaust sound great!!!

It sounds one nuance better to myself... I like the way the toce looks more. But I feel like you get a deeper sound with the yoshi pipe. And my friend has an 06 cb600rr with a yoshi and it sounds really good (in person).

+John W honestly if I didn't have to ride the bike I would pick Toce. It had a very rich and deep tone but is also pretty loud. But in the case I have to ride the bike all the time on the street I would pick the OEM exhaust with the endcap changed to the one in the video.
